RETIREMENT BONUS The Navy found they had too many officers and decided to offer an early retirement bonus. They promised any officer who volunteered for retirement a bonus of $1,000 for every inch measured in a straight line between any two points in his body. The officer got to choose what those two points would be. The first officer who accepted asked that he be measured from the top of his head to the tip of his toes. He was measured at six feet and walked out with a bonus of $72,000. The second officer who accepted was a little smarter and asked to be measured from the tip of his outstretched hands to his toes. He walked out with $96,000. The third one was a non-commissioned officer, a grizzly old Chief who, when asked where he would like to be measured replied, "From the tip of my weenie to my testicles." It was suggested by the pension man that he might want to reconsider, explaining about the nice big checks the previous two officers had received. But the old Chief insisted and they decided to go along with him providing the measurement was taken by a medical officer. The medical officer arrived and instructed the Chief to "drop 'em," which he did. The medical officer placed the tape measure on the tip of the Chief's weenie and began to work back. Dear Lord!" he suddenly exclaimed, "Where are your testicles?" The old Chief calmly replied, " Vietnam ."

I heard that Chevy actually went back to the drawing board for a few design changes, thus pushing back the release of the new Camaro to 2010. I understand why so many confuse the Dodge Charger/Challenger with the Mustang, and now even the Camaro. Funny thing is that even back in the day they all looked a lot alike. Mustang is actually de-tuning their '09 models...mainly to meet DOT regs, I've read that they will have the 4.7L in them and only give the bigger engines to the GT's. I'm not a big Ford fan as I own an '06 Charger R/T, but I will have to say that it's a big competition and we'll have to see if Chevy can make a comeback with the Camaro.

Another member of the greatest generation has been lost......passing away this last Sunday afternoon. At 87 years old , Monroe Williams was the senior member of the 353rd IL2 Flight Squadron , a veteran of WW2 , P-47 and P-51 pilot participating in the Liberation of Europe. Well....since his retirement, EA sports put him on the cover of Madden '08 in order to break the Madden curse. LMFAO! Now the curse will double its power. Favre is back and will be plagued with the Madden curse. I personally have lost respect for the icon that he has become. I think all "Football" fans have done the same. If Peyton Manning left the Colts for the Cardinals I would feel the same way. Favre had a chance to go out with dignity, become a legend as #4 Green and Gold in Green Bay and sell memoriablia for centuries.... He puts his mind ahead of his age and joins the Jets to probably live out one or two completely disgraceful years in football. M

Watched all 4 hours and I can actually say I was impressed. I'm dissapointed that they didn't stay closer to the plot line of the original movie, and honestly, I've never read the actual book....so my thoughts are limited to new vs. old movie. I believe that the wormhole things and sending messages back from the future was a little stupid and could have been left out, but it didn't distract me from the movie of today. I do believe that they should have canned that part and stuck to the original more concerning the nature of the Andromeda Strain. Overall, if you haven't seen the original, or read the book.....you will still enjoy this version of the movie. Fates
