The Euro 1 is the next skin on my list.

Another update... My Fuselage template .psd got corrupted which set me back a couple of days, but the good news is that I regularly back up! Here's the latest: KC-130J USMC: C-130H3 USAF: C-130H2 36SQN RAAF: Dels

Another update... Have just finished all the skins for the C-130J variants (C-130J, C-130J-30, KC-130J, MC-130J and AC-130J). Still testing, but the release is getting closer and closer. Here's some game shots of the AC-130J. The AC-130J is armed with a 30mm Bushmaster, 105mm Howitzer, Outer pylons for up to 8 Hellfires/SDBs and the Gunslinger Launcher on the ramp holding 10 AGM-176 Griffin A's. The AGM-176 is a brand new model I've made. Dels

Yes, this is a problem that will soon be rectified with my Herc upgrade. Dels

Yes, yes...I'm getting there! There will be a production C-130A as well as the Roman nose version and the AC-130A as per: http://combatace.com/topic/83752-c-130-upgrade-project/page-1?do=findComment&comment=673268 Dels

More progress. Just finished the bump and spec maps. Bump map is currently at 2% opacity, what do you think? (I'll post some pics of the spec map results when I've got the early unpainted birds ready) Dels

Averages 25-30k depending on the antennas etc. Dels

Still chipping away at it. Recently I've been working on an A-22 Cargo Container for CDS. Here's some pics: "In live, stick of 12..." "Green light!" Dels

The map mesh would have to have a helper mesh that is set up as a compass. So this mesh would rotate like the compass on a HSI but you can't see it. The map mesh would be attached to this helper mesh so it would rotate with it. To disable it, you would just need to have a look through the _cockpit.ini and find something that would be a compass and delete those entries. You could use the LOD viewer to find the name of the mesh or you could use trial and error. Dels P.S. All this aside, pilots use heading or track up,north up is for navigators...which one are you?

For a rotating gun, it needs to be pointed forward in the 3d model. This seems weird, but it's set up the same way as tanks and ships. You will need to figure out which mesh has the correct pivot and use that in the _data.ini. This will usually be the main part of the gun which is pointing forward when you look at it in the LOD viewer. Once you've figured this out then you set up the yaw limits for the rear arc of the aircraft. I haven't got my SF2 computer with me at the moment to check, but if you have a look at the B-52s I made it might steer you in the right direction. Dels

Eventually yes, but there isn't any at this stage.

I like to minimise the amount of doubling up.

Almost...

I can assure you I won't miss details like that with the earlier versions! Dels

Hi everyone. I've been able to make some progress and here are the first in game shots of the updated C-130. Dels

Overall, the X-Wing model looks pretty good. It could use more details and smoothing in some places, and less detail in others. However, like whiteknight and Wrench said, it's only the beginning. There's no mapping, no skin, no animation and no .inis so you're looking at a lot of work to bring it into the game. Plus, there's the absolute joy of working with someone else's model. Dels

Sorry guys, it's still snowing over here! But seriously, I have made some progress, it's just a bit slow. I expect to upload some in-game screen shots by the end of next month. Dels

All the versions I'm building are listed earlier in this topic. I will be building the MC-130J which is externally identical to the HC-130J. I am not planning to build the HC-130P/N however I will build the KC-130T which would be externally similar unless you wanted the Fulton recovery system or the beacon tracking (dorsal) radome. Dels

If only it were two weeks... Sorry it's been a while but I have been snowed under recently. The good news is that I am making steady progress. So what's new? The model is now 100% complete, I have made the basic templates for 3 of the 5 main skins, and I have finished all the skins for the extra items (fuel tanks, add on sensors, AC-130 additions). Can't give you an eta, but I will upload some screen shots once the first skin (RAAF C-130J-30) is completely finished. Dels

Set it to metres.

Thanks again. That wasn't the issue as they were in different directories (C:\3dsmax7\ and C:\3ds Max 2009\ ). But I have since completely removed Max 7 with no change. I just removed Max 9 and cleaned out the registry, then re-installed Max 9. Still no change. The only thing I haven't done is a Win 7 re-install which I don't feel like at the moment. Unless something else comes up I might just use my XP comp to do my exporting. That's much less painful than a re-install. Here's a screenshot of the error: Dels

Yes, I have tried the earlier exporters and they all work fine, it's just the DEC-2010 that won't work. Thanks Russo, I gave it a try but still the same issue. I think this may be the only way. It seems like a bit of a drastic thing to have to do though... Dels
