  1. Article and very scary picture of a fatal crash today. That airport is a very dangerous one especially in winter weather, it said tailwinds were 30 knots! My thoughts go out to the family of the deceased. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/01/05/aspen-plane-crash/4329739/
  2. In the IR2003 terrain for operation darius the IR_water.bmp works fine, it allows naval fleets to be created and saved in a single mission using the mission editor. However when attempting this using the Korea3 terrain in a Modern Warfare Korea install, every time I try to re-fly a saved mission the fleets that were previously created are always erased and I have to create a totally new mission due to the absence of a target for the player aircraft. I have NavalMap=True in the Korea3.ini and I'm using the the Korea3_water.bmp with the "green naval" areas, yet I'm still having a problem. Yes I'm using SF2NA as the base install for both games. Any ideas? Thanks
  3. Discovery networks doesn't have most of those classic shows available on DVD for some strange reason. I'm thinking clash of wings is no exception.
  4. Are the French Damocles targeting pod, and Areos recon pod available anywhere? I thought I saw a screenshot with a Damocles pod once so I assume it exists as a file but I can't seem to find it. Thanks
  5. I would say a more realistic comparison would be that an F-35 with external combat loads and therefore not that stealthy is equal to the F-16 with no real advantages. Regardless, the flight performance of an F-35 is much better than an F-105 or F-4, that comparison is nuts! The F-35 is more maneuverable, has faster acceleration, has a tighter turning radius, etc. The F-22 is a much better pure fighter than an F-35 though of course. That website seems to have a lot of asinine articles about the capabilities of modern U.S. aircraft. It even claims the 30 year old Su-27 is still the best fighter in the world, so I wouldn't give them much credibility.
  6. Thanks Raven, I guess I hadn't noticed that.
  7. Is there a way to get air to air missiles to detonate when they are near a target? For example if a missile is decoyed is there a way to detonate a missile just as it passes near the aircraft? Thanks
  8. Yes However the only way to sink a USN Nimitz class carrier is with nuclear weapons. All others can be sunk with conventional bombs, but it will take several to do so.
  9. Oh well, it's no big deal now. Thanks everyone
  10. Loved the book, looking forward to the movie!
  11. Well I got the bombers to fly cruise missile missions but whenever I assign this mission I can't assign the bombers a target in a specific naval group, it just says <none> with no options. Also as lcarus999 said is there a way to allow cruise missile attacks against land targets? I remember in SF2I once I was able to intercept Tu-16's firing AS-5 missiles at land targets which they successfully did, but I haven't seen this in a while.
  12. I'm using a merged SF2 setup that includes SF2NA. I wasn't aware that "cruise missile" was a mission type I'll set up each bomber with this mission type and see if it works. Thanks
  13. Is there a way to get bombers such as the B-52 and Tu-22M to launch cruise missiles when you're intercepting them? I'll fly a mission to intercept a bomber like the Tu-22M, and if it's loaded with cruise missiles it never launches them! Just wanted a more challenging mission and when bombers end up posing no threat it's a big letdown. Any ideas? Thanks
  14. Awesome!
  15. Good Point! Also that nozzle looks like it would give a heat signature from 100 miles away!
  16. Luckily all four crew members survived! Info- http://www.af.mil/News/ArticleDisplay/tabid/223/Article/466899/b-1-lancer-crashes-in-montana.aspx
  17. Wow an F-100! Very cool!
  18. He was one hell of a leader! RIP Adm. Woodward
  19. RIP Col. Day
  20. I'm looking forward to all the new files when the DL's come back, and appreciate all the hard work Erik has been doing! For now though I got my 100GBs of saved files like everyone else!
  21. I'm familiar with Colorado Springs but don't know much about the special "non-chain" restaurants, The airplane restaurant near the airport is pretty cool as it is inside an old KC-97! The food is pretty good and you'll get to watch the nearby air traffic. Definitely ask Typhoid though, as he lives in Colorado Springs. If you have time definitely visit Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods if you like the outdoors.
  22. The same thing has happened to me before, so sorry Wrench. These latest patches have caused 100% negative results with no positive results whatsoever.
  23. In addition to helmet mounted sights I believe there are sensors on the aircraft itself that feed info to the missiles seeker head. The missile then uses its own seeker head of course after launch.
