Python 5 capable?
Brain32 replied to dtmdragon's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
F-16's carry it they scored a kill with Python5 on enemy UAV in 2006. -
When toned down(mid-high settings but not max) it ran better than MW3 here...I don't think it's a new engine though it looks a bit polished.

Doom2,Quake 1&2, Hexen, Half Life, Soldier of Fortune, Vietcong, Return to castle Wolfenstein(2001) even Doom3 and Quake4, can't finish those in a day that's for sure.

Well I liked all three MW's although COD4 was the best, however I'm tellin' ya if you can borrow it from a buddy BO2 is really cool stuff man...
-
I hear ya on this, it's totally true, however in these days of multiplayer craze, it can be easy to snag it from a buddy just to go through SP Especially since you need for only like 4-6hrs max lol

First of all let me say this, whatever I write here is related to singleplayer only, I passed on playing FPS games in multiplayer long time ago so my main driving force about FPS titles is singleplayer so this is all about that aspect of the game. I was very skeptical about another Treyarch CoD title since I basically not just disliked World at War and first BlackOps, I f**** hated them, they were buggy, unoptimized and at times so boring passing over some missions was more of a burden than fun, yes it was THAT bad at times for me with those titles. BUT(!!!!) BlackOps 2 rocks so hard it screams FUN, FUN, FUN all over the place. First of all the story is like a movie with flashes from the past and their reflection on the future it really involves the player into the story eventhough you switch playing characters very often during the story even playing the main bad guy role several times. I mean don't get me wrong it's not Oscar nominee level but for a video game it's above all expectations I could possibly have. Furthermore the game is optimized, completely bug-free and it scales perfectly, when you lower the details it actually runs better unlike BO which ran crappy no matter what you did. I can't comment on the graphics as with my now quite old system I didn't even try to run it on higher levels but on a nice medium-high mix with AA and AF it ran most of the time at around 70fps, often in the 100's and very rarely dropping to 40's. Now as to why it's fun, it simply had enough aspects of the game rarely seen in classic military FPS games, whether you are skydiving in a wing-suit through jungle mountains in South America or charging on a horse(!!!) with mujahedins on soviet tanks in Afganistan desert, leading mad charges in the Angola, flying the F-35, defending the USS Barrack Obama(!!!) carrier from an attack or not to spoil more just saying...heck it's fun and the gameplay is new, challenging and simply cool. Warning: The game is at times explicitly graphic, you can turn it off on the start but if you don't get ready for some serious scenes. My Rig: AMD X2 @2800Mhz 4GB DDR2 ATI 4850HD 512 EDIT: GAaah one finger was too fast so I wrote the title wrong but you get it...

Mirage F-1C-200
Brain32 replied to ludo.m54's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Centurion the version I did has the old style RWR with no directional indication, just the lights marking what it is... -
They were never here either(good decision)...so I don't know what is this all about, maybe if they count the Beetles invasions like Wrench noted...

Strike Fighters 2 Screenshots
Brain32 replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Screen Shots
Yes, yes, yes Polish F-16's!!!! Will post a screenie later... -
I'm obviously not from USA but will always support a call for voting anywhere, this is your time, the only true failures in life are those things we never even attempted to do.
-
Yeah I really don't get why some things available for campaigns are not used for single missions too, for example location maps...like only the guys that play campaigns want for example Syrian aircrafts to actually take off from I don't know let's say - Syria? Instead of just anywhere game assigns them to...and then ofcourse one has to enter (thankfully) built-in mission editor and change it to something believable...

Mirage F-1C-200
Brain32 replied to ludo.m54's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
I just hope for a usable FM because that was my No.1 reason I gave up that cockpit. BTW, nice touch on the pit Centurion -
Russians had no motive for this whatsoever if anything it also created a problem and controversy for them.

Older Mod Eagle Scheme
Brain32 replied to Dave's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series Modding/Skinning Chat
Dave that's pretty darn sweet -
As somebody who lived in both systems, comy and demo, I can tell you the only difference I noticed is that before you knew when and from who you were getting a taste of BS mountain, theese days it's just hard to tell...camping on BS Mountain is an everyday thing...

Don't know buddy, I was going through some models and possibilities about such scenarios while they would be impacted for sure, being far away from the blast zones helps A LOT. By the time air currents would bring the harmful particles to them many of them would already decompose so fallout problems probably wouldn't be as high as in areas of blast zones...

Korean Phantoms
Brain32 replied to snapper 21's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Speaking of Korean Phantoms are that awesome Sundowners skins from page 47 in screenshot thread available for download somewhere or not yet? -
Yeah this is really funny or better said crazy, they download and install the mod, the game runs badly, they complain to TK then he destroys the very things that made that mod possible and as a result nobody can have it now...in-f***in-sane.... Similar is with the hard-core vs "lite" when it comes to realism, people that don't want to play on hardest settings complain, game get's toned down, they play at the same level as before only now it's says "hard" in the options menu and the ones that enjoyed the hard level before now don't have it at all...I mean WTF??? Suggestion for game developers, when you make and advanced option don't call it like: "Hardcore", "Realistic", "Hard", call it for example "for gays only", "for tards", "mommas boys setting", "nancyland", "Lady Gaga fans only setting" or something so unappealing that all those guys can play on their "manly" settings while we can enjoy advanced options not being constantly undermined...
