In 1991 it was decided to modernize the MiG-21bis to new MiG-21bisD standard. D stands for Deutsch = German. As i said, its not my point of view. I think is russian propaganda. But it has a background. I have spoken with a german SAM officer (Patriot battery). And he said: "Theoretically it is possible to do what the russians tell us, that they have done. It is possible to blind or jam or suppress one single modern radar system. But not 2, 3 or more at one time. Because in case of jamming the 2 or 3 radar units are able to triangulate the exact position of the jammer. With one radar system you get only the bearing of the jammer, but not the exact position. Thatswhy SAM units normaly form a network. "" The rest of his technical explainations i have not really understood, but the essence was. "The russian story could be possible, because the US ship was alone. With 2 or 3 ships away it would not be possible." He said, "could be possible" and "theoretically possible", not "i think that it happend in this way"

I found an interessting article of the russian point of view of the Su-24 vs USS Donald Cook incident. Unfortunatly i have found it only on german language. http://de.ria.ru/opinion/20140421/268324381.html The main message was, that the Su-24 was equipped with the newest jamming device called Khibiny. This jammer was able to suppres the Aegis target aquisition and fire guidance system. So the Su-24 was able to launch 12 mock attacks on the ship. After the incident, so was said, the USS Donald Cook changed the course and headed immedietly toward a romanian port. Further was said, that 27 members of the crew wrote a letter of resignment (hope this is the correct term), while the most of the crew showed signs of demoralization. This is the russian point of view, not mine.

On german WOT server a staff member of WG posted this file: wot_engine.zip It switch off the multi core support and so it increase the fps rate. On my computer i saw an increase of 5 fps. Its far away from old 8.11 days, but better than what i had before.

I think you knowledge about german history is weak. First: Its was not the Reichskanzlei (what you call Chancellory) that burned but the Reichstag (House of Parliament). Second: Hitlers first target was the annihilation of communist, socialdemocratic (in Britain called Labour, in US called Liberals) and left unionist resistance. The hunt for jewish and homos came later. There were a lot of inncidents when rich jewish germans in 1933 explained, that they were satisfied, that the "Lefties" disappeard from german society. The bad wake up came some years later. There was also a poem about it. Translated into englis it is: When they came to arrest the commies, i said nothing, because i was no commie. When they came to arrest the sozis, i said nothing, because i was no sozi. When they came to arrest the unionists, i said nothing, because i was not in the union. When they later came to arrest me, there was nobody left who could say anything. The comparision of Putin with Hitler is completly wrong. Putin is no gambler, he know exactly how far he can go. If you want to compare Putin with a german politician, then you should take Bismarck.

Patch 9.0 is rubbish. With reduced graphic render i was able to get a fps rate of 20 - 25. But when an other tank appears and a fire fight start the fps rate drops to 10 - 5 and then is only slideshow. I think i will say Good by to WoT. BTW is it allowed to sell a account?

No the last of this training exercises was in 2012, that means 2 years ago. And SPS-141 was successfull. The attacked shipes were not able to lock on the incoming planes. Only after the Phantoms had passed the ships the firecontrol system was able to lock on. But in real life combat it would have been to late. Dont underestimate the enemy.

Ich habe mal im deutschen WOT Forum herumgeschaut. Dort gibt es etliche, die sich über fps Probleme seit dem neuen Patch beschweren. Vielleicht gibt es ja doch noch Hoffnung. Ich lade mir gerade einen neuen Grafiktreiber herunter. Mal sehen ob es besser wird.

I would not bet on it. If the 24 is activating their jammers, the us fireguidance system is blind. This has proven by F-4ICE which carried soviet SPS-141 jammer pods during a lot of training exercises near Deciomomannu in the last years. It was used to simulate anti ship missile attacks which were covered by jamming fighterbombers. In nearly no case the attacked ships were able to lock on the intruding Phantoms. The SPS-141 proofed as very capable. And the Su-24 has the SPS-141 jammer on board. The whole western reaction on Putins Ukraine thing is very weak. Its like the barking of a West Highland Terrier, nothing what a russian baer is worry. The best reaction would be to send a US Carrier group for friendship trail into the Baltic. Visit Kiel, Gdansk, Riga and Tallin and Kolya will understand the message. Then Germany and France should send one Battallion of the German French Brigade to the baltic states. One company to Estonia, one to Latvia, one to Lithuania. That would be enough. No barking, only showing the teeth.

There i would need a new motherboard. That means new processor, new graphic card, new memory chips, new harddrives etc. There i can buy a new computer already.

Very short burst with the 30mm gun are enough. One or two rounds can kill a Phantom. And by the way, edit the MiG-21F13_data.ini and set the ammo load from 30 to the real world 60 shells. It helps a lot.

As feared the version 9.0 is to much for my old and outdated computer. The framerate is significantly lower, especially if one of the new high poly vehicles comes close to me. It drops till 9fps and so the game becomes unplayable for me. Unfortunatly. Perhaps it are only the usual problems of the first day and so i will try to play in some days again. But i fear, that the time of WoT is over for me now. Its a pitty. It were over 3 years of funny and interessting tank battles.

I think the best launch distance is 1.8km for the R-3S Atoll missile. You must wait till the seeker head has a good sound and then you should not move your plane while launch. Against Mysteres, Hunters and F-100 use vertical combat. Climb and dive and if neccessary run away. But only if you has a gun. Without gun only hit and run tactics.

Sehen kann man was. Klar. Nur fürs fotografieren wird es suboptimal. Was einen entschädigen kann ist dann das Static display. Die Bundesluftwaffe wird sicher da sein, vielleicht auch die Amis und die Franzosen. Mit ein bischen Überredungskunst lassen sie dich auch mal ins Cockpit (zumindest bei den Fachbesuchertagen)

Seit der letzten ILA lohnt es sich kaum noch den Weg nach Berlin auf sich zu nehmen. Die Flugvorführungen werden südlich der Ausstellungsfläche durchgeführt. Das heißt für dich als zuschauer, daß du gegen die Sonne schauen must. Fotografieren wird da schwierig, weil du einen grellen Himmel hast und davor die Fluggeräte nur als graue oder schwarze Schemen zu sehen sind.

version 9.0 will be released on 16th of April for Europe and 17th for US server. With the new graphic engine i think the minimum hardware requirements will be to high for my old computer.

Look into the decals.ini and check, wheter the path of the FilenameFormat is correct. For instance here an entry of the AH-64 FilenameFormat=AH-64D/USArmy/D/Tailnum It means: AH-64D folder in aircraft folder USArmy folder in AH-64-D folder D folder in USArmy folder Tailnum = all Tailnumbers stored in the D folder A wrong letter can cause that the correct decals are not showing. Tell us which plane has the problem.

The R-60 was tested by the Luftwaffe in early 90th and it was said, that the Aphid was a very good missile. The modern versions were comparable with a AIM-9L. The advantage of the R-60 was a very short minimum launch range of less than 300 meters (dead zone) and the high possible g load of 42g which made the missile very agile. The warhead was to small. The continous rod warhead (i hope this is the correct translation of Stabmantelgefechtsteil) was made by steel in the early versions. In the last versions it was made by depleted uranium which gave a much better punch. But it was still weaker than the 9L warhead. The maximum launch range was smaller than range of the 9L. But in real combat of early 80th the head on shots with the 9L were not really succesfull, because the western planes had big problems with friend or foe discrimination. Thatswhy the Israelis used the 9L after a short while only in tail on shots. The seeker head of the R-60 had had a wider seeking angle than that of the 9L, but the resolution of the 9L head was much better. The first versions of the R-60 were relativly easy to catch with flares, but the last versions got a seeker head with a good capability to identify and ignore flares. The most plus point was, that the seeker head could be slaved with a HMS, so that target lock and launch was much easier, faster and in a wider field possible than with a AIM-9L The final conclusion of the Luftwaffe was, that R-60MK and AIM-9L were missiles of the same development level, but the R-73 was very superior and one generation ahead. Thatswhy the development of IRIS-T was started.

At US Server is at the moment a special with 5x exp for first victory and 30 gold for each 10.000 exp with some vehicles (Tier 5 +) I havent checked wheter at Euro server such a special is available.
