  1. Got some He-111s out already and more in the works. (Ostfront, but also more ETO and MTO skins too). Also, I've been having a play with the Ju-52 and Hs-123, so who knows? They'll have to wait for my home computer to come back from repairs though.
  2. Yay! We're going to need some Eastern Front 109 skins.
  3. An update on this story from the BBC http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/7599398.stm The suspected remains of a WWII airman discovered in a jungle region of Papua New Guinea have turned out to be the moss-covered branches of a tree. The Australian military sent a team to investigate the "body" only to discover it was a branch tangled in vines. An Australian Defence Force (ADF) statement said that although the location of the find was below a flight path commonly used by Allied aircraft during WWII sorties, the "remains" were in fact a moss-covered branch. The ADF said that no remains had been found. "It appears the branch has broken off the main tree and fallen across some vines, which from the ground, could have been confused with the body of an airman," the ADF statement continued. Hundreds of Australians lost their lives fighting off a Japanese invasion of Papua New Guinea. Japanese losses were several times heavier. The hillsides around the Kokoda Trail are littered with rusting guns, grenades and mortars - reminders of the WWII battles fought there. I don't know whether to be happy or sad at this turn of events.
  4. That looks great! And I can re-ennact some North Cape style F-19 missions from my long lost youth too.
  5. Just in case you never looked close enough at the B-29's name in the last picture. And no, I didn't shoot it down. Before I could take a shot this weird storm came out of nowhere, green clouds and crazy lightning, and the next thing me and my wingman were flying in clear skies like nothing had ever happened. When we landed there was a limo at the end of the ramp. It had dark windows so I never saw who was the passenger, but the number plate said FBR512....
  6. Great stuff Steve. For WW3 we're going to have to assume Soviet bases in Northern Norway or E Germany on the Baltic coast for single missions I guess. Although for campaigns would you be able to use your 'off-map' airbases like in the PTO campaign?
  7. While setting up my Ostfront install I noticed that some of Pasko's Russian planes were set as Soviet, so they were turning up flying with the Nazis! When I changed them to WW2 Soviet the red stars disappeared. All I had to do was go into the decals.ini in the skin folders and change the Insignia to Insignia005 and that sorted it.
  8. Blimey! Are you sure you didn't upload a photograph by accident?
  9. Looks like a great skin but I keep getting an error message when I try to download it from Check-Six. Is there any chance you could upload it here please?
  10. That map looks good Lazboy, but wouldn't it need to stretch a bit further north to include some Russian airbases, otherwise where are all the Bears and Backfires going to come from? It's got definite possibilities for a Northern Front WarPac vs NATO campaign though, like in F-14 Fleet Defender, or a WW2 campaign flying Beaufighters on anti-shipping strikes against German forces in Norway. Or Mosquitos against a mountainside over a secret Nazi factory at the end of a fjord...
  11. Kevin, hasn't this already been done, although it doesn't cover the north of the UK or Ireland. http://www.simwarrior.com/sfp1/terrain.html
  12. Great stuff. Really looking forward to this one. Check your pms.
  13. I understand what your saying C5 and I fully support the freeware licencing model. What I was getting at was if say a member was really abusive or acted inapproriately and was banned from this site by the moderators, then he wouldn't be able to download files from here would he? So in that way CA, or your own site, do control access to the files hosted at those sites. I suppose you could say that you and CA would be acting re-actively in such cases, wheras the A Team could be seen as acting pro-actively so such a suituation doesn't occur on their site. Or you could turn it around and say that CA/C5 are presuming innocence whereas the A Team are presuming guilt. Having seen the flak that the A Team have had on occasion in the past I do have my sympathies for them, but also for the community in general that this we have ended up in such a state of affairs.
  14. I guess you could call the A-Team's stuff 'memberware.' But isn't it the same as here or Avsim or other sites? You need to be registered to download stuff, that's all.
  15. LOL - DS terrain? NFG - Are you going to do the camo tornados to flesh out the WOE OOB? Might be useful for NATO Fighters 3.

  17. http://bbs.thirdwire.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1099 That's a link in the TW forum. It doesn't seem to be working though. I wonder if they've withdrawn it as SFG is the new standard and that already includes the A-4F? Here's the link to it here at CA http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=1459
  18. Sounds like an episode of The Unit. Strange, because I heard it was Mossad that engineered the rescue! http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid...icle%2FShowFull
  19. QUOTE (Dave @ Aug 19 2008, 11:26 AM) Mirage Factory is doing those pits. Two-weeks long days. I don't want to wait for such long days. If you're looking for something to do instead, weren't there some Japanese WW2 planes that needed pits?
  20. Nice one Kevin. Is it worth uploading Edward's other Pacific terrains here? I've just had a quick look through the downloads and can see your updates to several terrains but only New Guinea full scale terrain uploaded by the man himself.

The skins are interchangeable between aircraft versions, but for historical accuracy you should install them to the appropriate model. This skin is based on the work of Fernando Aguirre Cabañas for the Ground Crew Design Team He-111H series for CFS2&3. To install, just extract the file to your Objects\Aircraft\He-111xx folder and go fly. It's that simple! The skin should be available in the drop down menu of the He-111xx Hangar Screen loadout section.
