  1. This is getting ridiculous. They captured an oil tanker the size of a US aircraft carrier, loaded with a cargo of 2m barrels - a quarter of Saudi Arabia's daily output - worth more than $100m. And now they captured another two ships today (Tuesday 18 November). According to the BBC the industry that has sprung up around these pirates even includes restaurants for the hostage crews of various nationalities. To paraphrase Obi Wan Kenobi: The port city of Eyl: You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/7735507.stm
  2. Great stuff Lloyd. Looking forward to it. BTW, DAT have posted WIP shots of a Cessna T-41 Mescalero, aka Cessna 172. The IAF operated 2 of them in the 1970s. I'll look up the dates, but IIRC they wore the standard IAF camo of the period.
  3. If that is an F, or even an S, then it would certainly be useful for WOE and WOI if it's too late for WOV\YAP.
  4. Just wondering what scenarios you have in mind for this terrain. I only know the Canaries from my grandparents going on holiday there for the winter.

  6. False. But the latex rubber gimp thing? Maybe... The person below me thinks the 'Wallmart Fiasco' refers to the last time they got the shopping wrong for the missus.
  7. Looks great. Thanks guys.
  8. Good point Malibu. The alternative is to extract the data.ini files for your SAMs and manually alter the dates so they are available in the timeframe of your choice.
  9. This is an essential addon for anyone wanting the stock SAMs to show up after 1980 http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=1334 Also, there are plenty of newer SAMs and ground vehicle available in the downloads section http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...amp;showcat=305
  10. The Royal Navy's getting involved too, and the Russians... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7725771.stm
  11. Yep - at Capun's DAT site. http://cplengineeringllc.com/SFP1/ And my picture, as it is a screenshots thread after all...
  12. From what I've read, this occured only during the 1973 Yom Kippur War, when F-4Es drawn from USAF units were rushed to Israel to replace combat losses and sent straight into battle wearing SEA camo until a convenient time when they could be repainted. This was quite long in some cases, as long as 1989 in one case, and enough time for the operating squadrons to apply their own unique markings and for the IFR probe to be installed in the interim. Under Operation Nickel Grass, F-4Es, some Vietnam combat veterans with MiG kills to their credit, were flown to Israel from the 4th TFW at Seymour Johnson AFB and the 401st TFW at Torrejon AB, Spain. Some USAF markings may have remained after the aplication of IAf markings, and there are reports of of a TISEO equiped F-4 in combat displaying the 'SJ' tail-code of the 4th TFW. Thirty four aircraft were delivered in this fashion, paid for by the purchase of new F-4s for the USAF, and were deployed with 69, 201 and 119 squadrons. Claims that USN F-4B and J models were supplied from the US Sixth Fleet are almost certainly false. The SEA colours earned these jets the uncomplimentary nickname of Karpadah (Toad). Unlike the Phantom, there is no evidence of IAF A-4s operating with US colours, even during the Yom Kippur War. However, there are reports that the undersurfaces were left gloss white, at least initially, when IAF camo was hastily applied prior to combat. To send current and combat ready aircraft meant that some USN and USMC units gave up their aircraft. Some jets were delivered by flight, staging through Norfolk, refueling in flight and at the Azores, then aboard the UN Sixth Fleet carriers and Cyprus. But, 16 or more were delivered via crgo ships by sea and 43 total supplied after the war. From Air War on the Edge - Bill Norton Presumably the Israelis were more comfortable at the time with camo Skyhawks rather than risking losing grey birds to friendly fire? An interesting parallel are the F-16s supplied after the 1991 Gulf War, that wore standard USAF grey colours for some time before being repainted in IAF camo. Having said all of that, your skin looks really great Flogger23 and I for one am looking forward to it and will be pleased to add a link in the IAF list to your download.
  13. Hey Mannie, Yom hoodledet sameach, mate!
  14. Defiant! Great stuff Veltro2k, you keep coming up with fantastic subjects to fill in those gaps in our orders of battle. Looking forward to this one for BoF, BoB and Blitz campaigns.
  15. Furball over the Med
  16. I'm sure there was a mod in the downloads to give the Sea Harrier the post-war twin 'winder loadout, but for the life of me I can't find it. I'll have a look in my backup disks and report back. Edit: I found the download on disk. It's called [1322]SeaHarrier_4xSidewinders_SALETOV__MOD but I still can't find it in the downloads. Has it been removed?
  17. C5 That just begs the question of how you happended to come across this? :blush2:
  18. Aah Roger, Roger...
  19. Wow, cool first name. Didn't he get teased at school though? You know, being called B-25 and all?
  20. Nice, but I'd love to see a MiG 37 Ferret model for SF - they already have one for MSFS and for X Planes
  21. A quick update to the main list for Stormtrooper's excellent UH-60 skin - thanks very much for filling in this glaring gap mate Also added to the WIP list for 76.IAP-Blackbird's very promising and somewhat ironic 'reverse-engineering' conversion of the J-10 to the IAI Lavi - looking forward to this one - in camo maybe?
  22. True! And then in a fit of rage I tied it in a knot but couldn't untie it again. The person below me can recite the script to 'Top Gun' by heart.
  23. Re-upload the new versions?
  24. http://wp.scn.ru/en/ww4/f/979/89/0 Some Lavi profiles in standard IAF camo.
  25. Kevin, The UK seasons are Spring - March April May Summer - June July August Autumn - September October November Winter - December January February Having said that we've had hail, snow and ice the last few days and its supposedly still Autumn, so maybe the Big Man is playing with His own .ini files! Either that or I need to re-read my copy of The Coming Global Superstorm and head south... BTW, can you do anything about the static planes (there are some Hawkeyes on the EAW Cold War airfields and various planes on the WW2 fields) to take advantage of the new patch random parked aircraft feature or are those coded into the terrains too?
