  1. am sure you will get alot of different answers.... as i understand it,,,off is neither sli nor crossfire enabled.. now not saying there is no performance benifit from dual cards...but dont see it being as great as a game that can take full advantage of dual cards. BUT,,,it would foolish to build a computer just around off3...as god knows what the requirements will be for off4,,off5 etc etc... if your thinking about the dual gpu cards...look into the stuttereing problems they have had in the past with 2 dual gpu cards and once you get past the headaches,,and in some instances...heartaches...think about building your own...its very fullfilling my brother paid 4500 (yep...4500) for his gaming rig from dell...i built mine for 1300...he has i7,,i have e8500,,,he has two 9800's in sli,,i have a single 8750...but thats a BIG price difference...
  2. well..i am realy fond of my "how to play off without your wife knowing",,,but im going to keep that to myself... and sorry,,didnt know the m3dview wasnt kinda common knowlege..just threw it out there for new pilots... but,,as im sure there are other "paramaters", or whatever they are called that you can add....i know the -window is another one (or is it windowed?)..... anyone knowing any more..let us know....
  3. Very Cool!!
  4. There is also a great way of looking at the planes in your aircraft directory.... Make a shortcut to cfs3.exe on your desktop, select properties, and add a -m3dview to the target Now start cfs3 from the shortcut, you will get 2 windows. One will be a smaller command window, and the other will be the viewing window...attention at first is on the command window... Be sure to go back and remove the -m3dview from the target when done!!
  5. as this is freeware..... http://bhah.homeip.net:192/pub/ddsview0663a.zip
  6. if you post a day/time,,i can try and get on.....might be able to do a little bit in the afternoon friday, but got the "other" inlaws to go to friday nite
  7. now all we have to do is figure out where that stupid plane resides..and change it.
  8. this might have to be done for all the periods in cfsww1 scenery the map getting displayed is based on the period...switch periods..and the game loads a new map... I tried out the map that wakdamar put up the other day, and it worked..it worked in the game,,it worked in mp. then i happened to change the overide date for a mission i was building (wanted to get the sun on the horizon furhter south,,,it didn work).. anyways,,the map reverted back to a stock map cause the game pulled a new map from the new period i had selected..
  9. seems like if you pick an over ride date,,it takes the alt_low map from your ww1 scenery and over writes the one in your uries folder....ie,,the one in uries is semi temporary,,it gets changed as you move from period to period
  10. am always forgetting to start up tso...never fails..... this page has a quick way to make one shortcut to start up both tso and ts at the same time.. http://www.solidblogger.com/create-single-shortcut-to-launch-multiple-programs-on-your-computer/ when you save the txt files as a bat file..you HAVE to save it to the tso folder..or you get a dll error mssage... once you have the bat file in the tso folder, you can make a shortcut for it to the desktop, and rename it. if you click on the shortcut, and select properties..you can change the icon,,,if you browse to the ts directory, and click on the tso.exe,,your shortcut to the bat file will have the same icon as ts did...
  11. guess too many guys at my suppliers called in sick,,,,so im not getting my delivery...and am out of too much stuff to work... will be on teamspeak around 5ish edt,,,if anyone wants to do anything ....
  12. ahh yes..m1...very nice object
  13. Yes...execelent piece of work!!!!
  14. jumped on,,,but guess you had already left....
  15. what do i know..i remembered... little past 7 edt,,am on teamspeak....
  16. gonna need 7 guys....whats your kid doing tommorow????
  17. lol..glad you liked it.. on the zep mission,,for sure,,would love to play it,,,but,,,do the n17's attack (consistantly i mean)... i could not for the life of me get the allied ai to attack the zeps....they would shoot as they passed by the first time,,,but then just fly around the zepps,,and not engage..,,,most of the time out of gun range.
  18. Curious,,,does that mean you didnt get to play?
  19. cant give specs to support this,,but its my understanding off does not support crossfire (ie,,,no performance gains)
  20. barring any unforseen problems, will try and have something up tues around 730 edt pd has 2 new missions up, so would like to try and give them a go. will try and remeber to post here when am online.
  21. hmm,,,good question.... going to assume your talking about just networking 2 computers....no router..... this tells the different cables you have to have depending on if you have a hub or not http://sawaal.ibibo.com/computers-and-technology/what-difference-between-patch-cable-crossover-cable-409909.html i suppose,,,as long as you know the internal ip of the host,,,the other computer would be able to join. not sure what is going to happen if both computers have the same internal ip in any case,,,let us know!
  22. Its exacly the same way as you would do for 2 computers 1000 miles apart...the only differnce is that if you have a lan,,,the person joining can join the host by entering either the internal ip of the host (192.168.x.x), or if both compters are connected online, they can join by entering the external ip of the host. But the host does nothing different from what is done for normal mp sessions,,,,,ie,,there is no procedure for a lan session,,and a different proceedure for a internet session... there is a tuturial in the sticky section of the mp forum...should get you all you need to know (and them some) but fyi,,,,if you can get both computers online,,,and have the other computer join thru the internet connection rather than the lan connection, you may find the game play better. I did exactly what you are suggesting at home, ( set up a lan game) and i could not belive the amont of "jittering" on the aircraft. I dont belive the jittering is purely lag. Generally when you have lag,,the plane will freeze for a split second,,then quickly appear at another point....jittering is something else,,,,
  23. obdsoftware\cfsww1 over flanders fields\campaigns\campaigndata\skins
  24. That was outstanding UK.........
  25. you didnt mention what card you had. Ive got the 4870/xp64, and i found that the drivers that came with the card (sorry,,forget what version ) worked way better than the latest release. Cant say for sure..but there is some logic that would suggest the latest drivers are geared to the latest games. Off is still a directX8 game, so who knows..could just be the latest drivers are detrimental in off...
