  1. It looks like a good book indeed. I've been following the progress over at http://www.fjphotography.com/constantpeg/index.htm which is Steve Davies' site. There's a good load of pics over there and a decent forum with even a few bods who used to work on the program. A few of interesting tidbits about Soviet aircraft in the US... Evaluation of MiG-21 by USAF http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=reVZ9aPYi9A This site has some possible evidence of flankers at Groom... http://lazygranch.com/groom_lake_birds.htm This video shows the same thing, but the bird(s) in action... http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=3l08tgVSjIU A few interesting things can be seen on flightaware too, every now and again.

  3. Around 2004/5 maybe? First mod was trying to make the Martin Baker scheme of their own Gloster Meteor. It turned out awful.
  4. Is it just me or would the B-1R be called the BoneR? Come on, I think we all know why it was cancelled with a name like that. I can see it now... *NEWS-FLASH* "Earlier today, Taliban fighters in Afghanistan were hit by a massive strike from American BoneRs." I'll get my coat...
  5. I have started to map Veltro's deuce, he does good work for sure.
  6. Negative Ghostrider.
  7. I shall echo everyone and shout out for Duxford, it's always a good visit, you may even get lucky and see some warbirds flying, there's usually a few up and about. It'll cost you 16 quid to get in. If you are in London at all, Hendon is worth a visit too, it's got a great collection and the best part is that it's totally free. Have a good trip Brian!
  8. Because everyone loves the Ace of Clubs Saw one recently in fact, it looks a bit quirky but that scheme looks cool.
  9. Can't beat a bit of Fursty Ferret either Edit: Great work Baltika!
  10. These places sound good, the only issue with including more and more places that are further away would be that the work required to make the terrain increases exponentially. A terrain reaching from the GIUK gap all the way down to central Spain would be a collossal amount of work, baring in mind, you still need somewhere for the Russian bombers to originate from. Not trying to piss on your bonfire, but potential problems could escalate quickly. Boscombe Down has always been a testing base by the way.
  11. I would vote for that type of map too, maybe increasing the range of the map a bit further to the north-east. Would make for great interceptions. If it has the likes of Kinloss, Lossie, Conningsby, Cottesmore and Wittering I am completely sold.
  12. I would be all for that, I have diagrams of big RAF bases up north to make some decent homes for aircraft based here too...
  13. Happy Birthday!
  14. http://www.skippyscage.com/aviation/nv/nel...phoon/index.php These shots looked rather good, thought they were worth sharing.
  15. It couldn't have been an E if it was an aggressor aircraft. The 65th only operates C's and D's. The aircraft that went down was in fact serial #85-0131.
  16. Um no, nowhere near the worst, that prize goes without doubt to the Supermarine Swift.
  17. RIP. He was a great musician.
  18. Aha thanks FC, I shall have to try that at some point.
  19. Heard about this last night, very sad news. RIP.
  20. Thanks very much guys, managed to get treated to going to the Airbourne airshow yesterday had a great blast watching it from on top of a nearby hill, bit strange watching a lot of the aircraft fly by below you.
