  1. Now this would be beautiful to restore; Ex-Singapore Air force Hawk Hunter... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Hawker-Hunt...1QQcmdZViewItem Mach 3 should get you to school quick enough... http://www.aircraftbargains.com/ad/1787/buy/ One of these would be pretty fun too... http://www.aircraftbargains.com/ad/1790/buy/
  2. Bloody hell mate! Those skins do look rather tasty. (See you got your placards sorted )
  3. Make sure you use work paths, and then stroke them with your paint brushes. It's good to have two separate work paths, one for lines and then rivets. Makes it a lot easier to work with.
  4. Czech6, unfortunately you are correct, it's not possible to chnage the nature of the forced animation without being able to reset its rotate position in max. I tried this quite a whlie ago and came across the same problem. Shame there's no animation for it.
  5. Fubar, did you somehow manage to comine the non-animated canopy with a manual deployment method?

    skinning mods

First two things to get you started will be a) a skinning program and b) some skinning tutorials. For a skinning program, if you're prepared to shell out some money, Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro are worthy investments. If not however, its not a problem, simply google "The Gimp," which is a totally free image editting program that has nearly all the features of the afore-mentioned programs. For some skinning tutorials to teach and show you a lot of whats needed to be done to skin, head on over to http://www.simmerspaintshop.com, where they have everything for your starting needs in the world of skinning. Have fun
  7. Your line of work sounds good mate, on the idea of the the animation not working properly, I wouldn't know if it would help, but the Penguin missile has a fin animation after deployment. Perhaps it could serve as a model for you to try and get it working correctly.
  8. I'm currently doing a Concorde and a Harrier GR.7
  9. That's what I meant mate The laser designator you see on the Eurofighter in this pic is called the PIRATE (Passive InfraRed Airborne Tracking Equipment)... http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1245958/L/
  10. Hey craig are you thinking of doing a Pirate?
  11. Many happy returns buddy!
  12. It is yep, its in service with the United Arab Emirates Air Force.
  13. When you see the .dll files named as the menu screens, they are not the actual screens you see in game, but instead is the coding behind them that allows all of the available functions to work. For example, when you use the drop down menus, that's made possible by the .dll files. To get to the bitmap paint files of the menu screens, you will have to download and install Skypat's Cat Extractor tool and extract the appropriate bitmap files from the MenuData.CAT file. When you're done editting the menu screen bitmaps, just place them in the Menu folder.
  14. That's right, the baddest of the baddest of vipers, the F-16F Block 60 is coming your way, clear that runway...
  15. I think the problem resorts back to the max exporting. A modeler can either export the model with or without decals. When it is done without, this can cause some bleeding. I think.
  16. I've started on the F-15 aggressors of the 65th Aggressor Squadron....
  17. Man, seriously, good luck with the placards, looks manic. I think we should start up a skinning competition, someone choose a scheme, and we all have to give our best shot at it. EDIT: Found a link that may help you with some of the placards mate, try this... http://www15.tok2.com/home/lttom/military-...sento/sento.htm
  18. Sounds good C5, looking forward to adding this to my NF install.
  19. I've heard about that theory too, about the real top secret stuff being moved out to places like Dugway or White Sands, and can understand the reasoning behind that theory. However, the very latest satellite imagery of groom and lake and even the newest pics from Tikaboo suggest that Groom Lake is going to be active as it ever was with the latest expansion of the base. For starters this includes a new 183'x345' hangar at the south of the base, next to the old SR-71 hangars, as well as the re-surfacing of the west side of the north ramp, where the Red Hat hangars at situated. Also, due to the presence of an F/A-18 on the imagery, it tells us that not only are the USAF there, also the USN or USMC are there, probably the USN, as they have been involved in projects there for many years. An expansion to the PE (Personal Equipment; pilot ready room) also coincides with activity at Groom Lake increasing. Another sign of expansion is in the re-surfacing of the south ramp and the addition of fuel tanks in 2003. I think it could be safe to say that Groom Lake could well be hotting up again. From the guys at dreamlandresort, they paid for their own satellite imagery quite recently, and using the google earth imagery overlay they have at their site, you can easily see the new additions to the base.
  20. Nice pit you got there mate, texturing looks bloody good.
  21. lol lucky so and so. Will the game handle 4096^ bitmaps? I painted a bird a short while at that rez, templates turned out at a bleedin gig!
  22. Looking great Ant, you gonna be a total nutjob and do all those millions of placards the DJ aggros have?
