  1. Of course the fun thing about DACT is you don't always have to fly with an air-to-air loadout... One of the dangers is the MANPADS threat Revenge is a dish best served cold but a liberal dose of high-explosives is good too
  2. The most important thing about a tga file is that it has to be 32-bit with an alpha layer. The grey checkered bit is just the imaging program, NOT a requirement for a tga file to work. Best thing I recommend is to open an existing tga file and look at it and you'll see how it works. After that tga files are a snap.
  3. Those skins look like they're from the 526th TFS... looking great Dave like the Euro 1 stuff better than the SEA camo And as for the flaps Ceasar I don't mess with them since the Super Hornet's are more automatic than manual so I'm fairly stable throughout the flight regime. I swear Goose was flipping him off.... At least I think he was....
  4. yeah depends on what I'm playing with. most of the time it starts out with a massive turning fight and eventually it slides into a rolling scissors. The Su-27 nearly does it immediately (got me real good once) and I usually counter by turning inside it as best as possible. I've also found out that Russian missiles suck as the shot above I was Winchester air-to-air and tried unsuccessfully to get a guns kill. Most of the DACT I use was designed for missile only maneuvering so I wouldn't be so retarded in the knife fight and actually improve my skillset. I've only gotten lucky with the guns kills due to fast thinknig.
  5. That blows as I thought obviously I was on to something and really nothing new... shows how little I knew about ACM. Some fun with a Phantom
  6. For a Hun looks pretty cool.... Iv'e read one Wingman book where they're around Greece or so and starts the lead in to the Nazi Phantoms or some such... @Ceaser the best way I've found so far after figuring out how to really shoot down a MIG-29 is to reverse into the circle that they pull you into. I flew against an F-16 (that was a workout...). This in effect forces him to slow down into reversing his turn, slowing him down and essentially setting him up for a missile shot (9M,9X, 120 depending on model) or maybe a guns kill. DACT with a Super Hornet. The 9X that is following its smoke trail missed but that was okay the enemy Super Hornet eventually fell in the sea (the previous one whacked it pretty hard, killing an engine and blowing off a significant amount of its control surfaces).
  7. You haven't opened up the texture yet? "Texture made by Jarink" is a dead giveaway to me.... Then you can use an F/A-18A texture and fix it that way...
  8. You can get a good tail stripe just by using Sundowner's templates that Wrench is showing. Dave sometimes gives me sh!t about decals but the fact is that I use texture over decal especially with high resolution mapping (as in that template that Wrench is showing) OR when the mapping is so efficient (such as what FC does) that I always take the time to just texture it. I'm sure even I can get a good tail stripe using that template.... Besides sometimes decals come off tacky (which is another reason why I don't use them) and with Sundowner's templates it's almost an Artcle 15 offense to decal it... just sayin though.... VX-9 CAG Stuff. People always gripe about the change of warfare but precision bombing with a JDAM does wonders...
  9. Usually its a size not so much a length issue but gotcha
  10. Decided I need to update a few skins that I did a year or more ago, first starting with the VX-9 CAG jet.
  11. Erm... okay on the last titles for the last shots...
  12. Coming around and ejecting flares while I wait for my second JDAM to strike
  13. I'd get with Stary or lindr2 and ask them as I don't do effects.
  14. At first I thought you were talking about me but I can see that he's back at it... very nice...
  15. Okay it's getting to the point that I honestly don't know what to add anymore. I'm getting the strong feeling that the skin is done for the most part. There will be (I hope) a PSD available so you can make your own but if people have any suggestions they're always welcome. This is for the Thunderwarrior.
  16. You'd have to go a place like http://www.simmerspaintshop.com/ and learn stuff like that there. And a lot of it is taking the base files and using a paint program (GIMP, Photoshop, etc.)
  17. Thanks! Unfortunately most of them revolve around the Super Hornet and so far the other fictional one and this one are my favorites. The digital patterned one isn't a favorite and I just don't like it.
  18. Whatever cycles through Windows Media Player
  19. After fourish long days it's time to get back to dropping teh bombz...
  20. Well it is annoying but I'm not going to remove it.
  21. Go into the Avioincs.ini and find the available Modes. and delete the "TV" notation as I've had the same problem and now since I delete that there is some stutter but not as bad before. I assume the "TV" has become redundant through the patching.
  22. Time to head to bed but before the sun sets I'll drop something off.
  23. Yeah both are the same way. I haven't gotten in a Hornet vs Hornet fight yet but when I went up against a Super Bug I got into a turning fight and he won by pure energy (I was just trying to stay aloft) and he came around and shot me down. The M2000 is sneaky and will take the shot when it has the angle on you and in most cases he;s turning inside of you which is how he managed to get his shots in.. I caught him in a mistake and shot him down with a 9X. The Raptor is the same way though you'll never get a lock on (even with the -73 I didn't pick him up, the AWG-9 might have a better chance) Best way is to hit T until you can "see" him and that's how I managed to beat him and a lucky shot in the wing, blowing off his ailerons and he tried to fly but he eventually spun too much out of control to stay aloft and the pilot ditched.
