You'll be back. They always come back. I've had down times before, lack of time mainly. But, even then I planned to eventually get back to my SF Forever Project (FP). You could try something different, like First Eagle WW1, WW2, or something off the wall. I never actually PLAY the game, except for some joysticking as diversion from the FP. I never tried a campaign (yet). I maintain an interest because of the plane set I'm using to develop my own campaign -- think Duke Nukem Forever there. The mission for both sides, although not modeled in the game, sends me off finding resources in books, old articles, and online including interviews, and even some intriguing tibits shared on forums. The search for information is a fascinating end in itself. Here's my plane set, or an initial start, with many sub~variants not yet present. There are seeming oddities, but for good reasons. There are ex-LendLeace aircraft involved, and if you see light and heavy air transports, recall that P-51Dora pilots flying to or from Berlin would encountered German air transports. I use the air war over Germany as a foundational starting point for ideas or justifications. For example, RAF Bomber Command over Germany never retreated to low altitude with tail between legs, but stayed high and fought the electronic war. Some planes are renamed, The later hump backed Su-17M4 was to be called Su-19. I like that. This Su-19, and all the Su-17s, will be a short field swing wing supporting fighters, supporting things like Su-15s, like Bf-109s supported Focke Wulf "Boeing" killers. My MiG-23 is actually the Ye-152A prototype I've frankenmodded from Insky's J-8II, my -23M is the Ye-152M, and my MiG-27 is the "real" MiG-23. My B-66A is a panic rush by SAC/TAC to use A3D for high altitude use instead of waiting for B-66B. The F-109A and B are A-5A and B, in case I want them for penetration fighters. There were suggestions to use Vigilante as Air Force interceptor, so hey that sounds "kewl" and that's half the idea. Or as TK says: "nifty planes." You are from Sweden? I've considered using Sweden to support SAC and Bomber Command, with fictional air-refueling of SAAB fighters needed in my campaign theory, although obviously not in TK's game. Your thoughts on this would be nice. If anybody made nifty planes, it would be the Swedes. So for that reason, I must include them somehow, and that means giving them a role assuming air refueling. That's how I maintain fun in my game, while endlessly learning the real Cold War things that went down.

Capitaine V, I'm saving that quote. Thanks! Like borrowing more to get out of debt. I'd love to see Mark Twain's reaction to that war spin, if he had lived to see it. The smart man would see the Orwellian speak signaling the start of a long era of warfare. Apparently, there was a US Navy officer present at the armistice signing, and he said, or wrote, that he could tell that there will be another war in 20 years from then. If the story is true, he was off by one year. I don't have a source for that story though. This is another reason I think the whole thing was a setup...its a short and light PDF file. MONETARY REFORM: GOLD AND BILLS OF EXCHANGE by Antal Fekete You can finance wars like this only through massive debt, and somebody willing to "loan" paper to the warring sides, the paper being declared legal tender by cowardly "war" governments. Smedley Butler hints at this slightly, and he reserves special comments for banks in his late~in~life speeches on War Is A Racket.

Man wonderful to see this. I'm tip~toeing away to SF-1 again (but at least 2008 not 2006 so easy there) ... so I can't use this stuff, but I'm glad to see TK trying this out. Question:: What limits on airplane types do ya'll think TK will have? I mean, I'd love to see TK sell a J-35 "Flygvapnet" or B-58 "Strategic Air Command" even if none of the stock games employ them. They are, after all, nifty airplanes as TK likes to say; two of the most Nifty ever. -

I never tried a Strike Fighters campaign, just hand made single missions. If we could write our own campaign generators, we could generate missions that had "extra" flights coming along backing the player's flight, or the player's flight backing up earlier flights. Thus, backup would be out there when you get close enough to them in either visual range or radar range/cone (footnote*) so they engage....but we don't have a map~wide combat events record file we can read from to generate new campaign missions, like "eventlog" in IL-2/FB game, so the SF game is still effectively locked up in terms of dynamic campaign generators. There may be ways of getting around this, for example visually counting the combat losses using camera views and recording them on paper and inputing that data into the generator....what a mess that would be... * FREE Footnote: as of SF-1 2008, long distance radar engagement only works for ALL weapon loads when the flight is "targeted" to a specific flight, either friend or enemy. I found one could setup an abstract flight at the map edge where this won't ever get destroyed, although the targeted abstract flight being destroyed could be a good way to simulate destruction or degradation of surface surveillance radar or communications, as well as setting the targeted abstract flight to appear later during a mission, or landing or setting it up to be shot down by a nearby dedicated AA for this purpose. I'm straying off course here so...but in a way it all ties together. -
Well, alcohol is poison. I stop at one 16oz beer, or "american water" as the Euros call it. I love the taste, but hate that poison feeling. And its a weapon successfully used against American Indians, kinda like Opium used by the hehe "drugacracies" against the Chinese.

That was dumb stunt. Nice to see some sense here. Although I hate to judge before all the facts are in, it's beginning to look like this man exceeded his ability to think. If alcohol was involved, this turned out really lucky, as no victims in other cars or bystanders were hurt. Never heard of this guy, but I know everything about men that Party and drive. I've seen burning cars on the highway, nasty, vicious flames. Bad for the two fellas. ** Driving while sleepy is just as bad. Be careful, or at least don't kill anybody else in your stunt driving to get someplace "because I have to". Daily Mail has accident scene pics, rather serene that belie a gas fire. Very late at night, cops say high speed was involved, expensive sports car I guess. Classic stuff.

All of them. TX:: Mee Too. My fave by far is Marty Simon's work for LEXX sci~fi show, season 1 the movies, and later the series seasons 2 - 4. Very different, often very eerie, or sometimes fun, or comedic at times.

Well he did remove the wart. Some really dumb firearm accidents happen to men or women you'd never expect it to happen to, and so, those are the more embarrassing ones. This story does have more colour though. In UK -- "illegal firearm?" -- there may be a loss of gun cultural awareness to consider, and that could be said of USA to some extent as well, which is perhaps a goal of a bureaucratic bank.gov system -- birth a nation of dependents.

The new TKMD in SF2 is interesting, and I was pleasantly sup-rised to see the altitude limitations read from aircraft data.ini, but I prefer typing to scrolling. Once you go classical KMD, you never go back. -

I mentioned marriage, along with the unique case of a Georgia girl. Strange, but I've worked around lots of travelers, and my two fave accents, to me the most beautiful sounds, are Georgia USA and Georgia EastEuro. aircraft, hang in their. I've corrupted my Controls file many times, but to fix it, I've just copied over a backup. That won't fix a joystick issue though....or maybe software joysticks have stuff to backup? -

Agreed. Win-7 is what you want. If you just want to stick a toe in the water, I suggest Europe. I just got SF2 Euro, and the expansion pac. Its pretty nice. I mainly looked at the planeset. One of the big ones for me back in the old days was F-105. Folks, a flyable F-105 in a combat flight sim: when has that ever happened? Also, Hunters and all versions of Lightning in SF2 Euro. That is amazing. -
Zoom problem

Okay I don't know anything about fancy joysticks. I use a simple Saitek Cyborg Graphite -- it came with NO software at all; the way it should be. Other than that, extract the Viewlist.ini and try again. Once you get things working, make a backup copy of Viewlist.ini and the Controls folder. I backup copy my entire game folder to different hard drives and then DVDs and store them in the closet, and a few copies off-site in case of flood, fire, theft, asteroid, marriage, or that nuc in the Georgia swamp going off because two pilots (B-47, F-86Dora) -- BOTH pilots from MISSISSIPPIE -- collided like peanut butter and chocolate. There's debate about that nuc being a live round though. Don't take any chances. BACK UP when you get your game right! -
I don't have sound on my computer, as I JAM stereo when I play THE SF, so I can't hear the fella. But, this just came out of Ireland a few days ago... Ireland Seizes $7 Billion From Its Pension Fund To Boost Employment ~> http://tickerforum.org/akcs-www?post=188008 But if you click the article, they are talking about a "reserve" fund. Where that reserve comes from, who knows? Maybe it was not taken from wages of men and women, but certainly from "taxpayers". No matter, I'll guess boosting employment (Soviet~esque Central Planning) is probably a cover. The last paragraph about the banks is interesting.

What control do you use? I use a joystick thumb button -- Forward (0 degrees) for zoom in, Backwards (180 degrees) for zoom out. Have you messed with your Viewlist.ini file? -

Wrench:: That's normal. I've done thousands of hexing around and you get to peek inside the 3d modders souls, what makes them tock. All sorts of mis~spellings and stuph. It becomes so normal, it actually makes sense in some way, and you can almost predict the mis~spellings, to a slight degree. I guess you get to see the humoid brain at work, over a large population of modders. It don't work logically, but that's the way it is. If the brain worked logically, it would not work at all. Or...if there is a scloops, its left and right scoops but called scroops and scloops. It does make sense after a while, or is it me going nuts....never mind move along there's nothing to discuss. I am NOT Perky.
