  1. Those first 104 were just flukes...
  2. I think we should change the statement "2 weeks! " to "12 Years! " ...bloody hell... 12 years. If it's in SVGA, I'm not gonna be happy... :threaten:
  3. In all seriousness though, when I used to mod Descent FS2, we knew a bunch of female voice actors. I'll see if they're still keen to do some VO. It might sound strange to you guys though since you all have those funny accents... Don't know anyone around here (home) with a yank sounding accent who does VOs though...
  4. You know... Most of my mates are womenfolk... I could just ask them for voice overs if you all too shy to ask them yourselves!
  5. I'll pay that. I love the fact that something as ugly as the BUFF has persevered for so long and set new standards in capabilities and fugliness! It was one of my faves as a kid. I've got a whole bunch that appeal to me, but the Herc is one outstanding piece of kit IMHO. 50 year old design, more uses than Lego, I've seen them land and take off from everything but water, carries your troops, ferries your cargo, delivers your pizza... I mean is there anything it can't do?? And now this sucka is going to be frying your enemies in the blink of an eye... Think about it, designed around the time when jet engines were relatively new and still being perfected, now one of the first airborne platforms to carry a chemical laser...
  6. There aren't any Su-35s for the moment dude, but Fastcargo's been cool enough to distract himself long enough to whip up some canard/pylon mods for the Flanker (and some other, lesser plane, not important really ) so we can have the illusion of having an Su-33/35... You can find that goody here...
  7. Hahaha! I was WAY ahead of you...
  8. I'm with six gun on this only because there is something to the aesthetics of a Katana, particularly the Wakizashi, that captures my interest. But isn't weight a big factor when comparing Japanese swords with European swords. True there's a whole bunch of both and hard to compare them given the different situations the were developed for. Kinda like comparing an AK-47 against a civil war era Springfield rifle. Sure the AK fires faster and repeatedly, but in close combat, the length and weight on the Springfield (not to mention the big ass bayonet on the tip would have been assets in themselves. Kinda gets me thinking though... ...I'd be interested to see how Ghostdog or Kill Bill would have played out with European swords replacing the Katanas. Would that fight scene at the end on KB1 been ten minutes of us watching Lucy Liu and Uma grunting and kicking at each other whilst they dragged their super heavy swords around...
  9. Here we go... I can see the next 6 months being Flanker hunting season... Great... now I gotta get some of my nerdy mates to pink out Gerald's Su-47 to restore the balance to it's natural order!! :smile:And anyway, Terminator's a stupid name for a fighter! It's so cheesy! And lets not forget that Raptors are extinct... HAHA!!
  10. Any differences??
  11. $^&*ing Shamrock! I wish I have a Veritech so I could transform, grab his plane and use him as a shield against those XMAA 6s! To be fair though, his family did get killed... ...or went into witness protection to get away from the "Yak Yak Yak!" PS. Has anyone here tried the downloadable content? I've been dying to check out the new planes but my Xbox does funny things online...
  12. AFAIK you can have ships in the stock map. Carrier ops in WOE should work fine, although there's a file you'll need from WOV to get it working correctly. Have a look here: in regards to what you'll need to do to get the carrier functioning. I don't think I've ever had a problem with Anti-shipping sorties in WOE outside of not getting the naval vessels to appear (which was quickly fixed). And you're right. They're based on the same engine, although there were some problems with some WOE stuff not being backwardly compatible with SF. Can't remember if that had something to do with patching though. Either way, whatever you put into one game, you can pretty much do to the others.
  13. I know it's being looked at with the Su-27/30 series, but are the US/Boeing looking at ways to reduce the RCS of the F-15? Granted, it'd be difficult with those massive intakes, but there's still many methods that can be employed to squeeze more out of the platform.
  14. What...? He took back a lot of things he said. A LOT of things... jk Not sure who's idea that was...
  15. To lose one is considered unfortunate. To lose two could be considered careless...
  16. Miracles, just head here and grab v05.15.06 first (the 43.1 meg patch), install it and then grab v08.30.06 (5.91 meg patch) and then you should be completely up to date and should (fingers crossed ) have no problems with using the R-60. It's a good little sucker punch of a missile once you get the hang of it! Also, don't forget to disable your dial-up "disconnect if idle for X mins" option!
  17. Getting away from this "conspiracy theorist" horses**t for a minute and back on to the cloaking materials (sorry, I can't stand conspiracy theories ) Jedi, do the materials you're talking about look something like this? This example is not an example of invisibility per se, as there's a host of cameras, projectors and processors involved and can only really be viewed from certain directions AFAIK. But it's more of a proof of concept. Read more here: http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/11.08/p...&topic_set=
  18. He's definitely not banned. He's prolly just busy with real life...
  19. I am having a goddamn lousy week for several reasons, but this lifted my spirits. I mean it sucks that there were collateral deaths involved, but I can only wish more suicide bombers/potential suicide bombers have 'accidents' like this... http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,23101332-401,00.html
  20. For me, these shorts were the best... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RzToNo7A-94 Woo Woo!!!!
  21. It's actually French, Russian and South African. Not Italian.
  22. Even in the article it states that there will be micro payments involved, so it isn't going to be free per se. I mean, it'll be for customisation of things that you'd normally unlock in other games, like skins, decals etc. Still, it'd be interesting to see where they go with it.
  23. Your problem is that you can think without drooling... so obviously you haven't dealt with the MoD here! I get more sense out of a class of 5yr olds and I don't have to rpeat myself as much. I'd be keen to see how things are going with this defense acquisition reassessment. I hope things will be done differenlty, but I wouldn't be shocked if the new government acted the same way as the last government but just slapped a new label on their process. None of these would be a problem for any industrialised nation to produce. For one thing, when we were building the Mirage IIIOs in the 60s, a lot of components were produced in the country and were either locally designed substitutes or revised for local conditions (remembering that France and Oz are very different places environments!) or were incorporated into the design to suit the environmental, operational and economic needs of the licensee. The same was done in the 80s to a lesser degree with the Hornets and more comprehensively later when the MoD was denied tech transfers from the US. Not to mention the Tiger ARH as well. It’s done partly for whatever operational needs exist but also to develop a self sustaining defence industry here so as to free us from the dependency we had on other nations (US,UK) in the past. Defence industry reps like Tenix, BAe (both are one and the same now), LM, Boeing and even Qantas defence systems have been competing for these kinds of tenders for years (and were all pissy when it was revealed how little work they’d be competing for with the JSF). I think if the Russian defence industry included incentives such as with India’s M-MRCA (where they’re helping to set up a Mig-29 refit and maintenance plant or is it a production plant?) along with the Su-34, then we’d take a much more serious look since defence contracts mean jobs, which in turn means votes. I think that Russia would be a little hesitant if only for our close ties to the US and potential leaking of critical systems information to a major competitor like the US. Look at how tense they got when the IAF Su-30 flew to the UK. Also, the question about the Su-30 series using western avionics with Russian nav systems etc, I’m pretty sure both the single seat Su-30 and the regular 2 seat Su-30s in the Malaysian air force use Italian and French (maybe even British? Marconi MEC?) FCS, targeting and designation, stores and battle management systems with existing Russian nav and FBW systems. Although, I’m not 100% on that one.
  24. Hey, you're making nice F-5 type variants... remember, no good deed goes unpunished.
  25. Wow... that takes me back! I think I was in high school when I had that one... That was the one that got me into the series...
