  2. Hi Velvet I think you have misunderstood what standard Anti-ailiasing does. Here it does not add more polygons to models. It looks for jaggies, for example a diagonal lines made of pixels which always look bad on a computer screen unless you are at insane resolution and adds a few extra shaded ones to smooth it. It does not for example take a wheel made of a 20 sided circle and make into a wheel made of 30 sides. Also make sure you have aircraft slider on 5 in graphics settings.

  5. 2 seaters we have said it many times in here ourselves we need more, but we need more everything, time is the only enemy in our way - not enough of it to do everything. They are to be done at some stage.

  7. Not heard that one mal, OFF will stress out your system some. Do not set terrain or scenery sliders to 5 on any system. Go to workshop Graphic settings, check. try 554455 or 553353 for slider settings. See FAQ near the top. Make sure you installed 1.30 then 1.30c then 1.31L in that order.
  8. CFS3 engine issue for the fog.. Other issues are likely memory overload or cooking as I said. Try knocking terrain or scenery back a notch.

No mention of electronic download. Of course you also need to buy OFF BH&H Also see below for other requirements:..... Any references to it are from Avangate website - the problem is they normally supply downloads ONLY. We wanted them to provide DVD only, for many reasons I won't go into now (1 being OFF would be MORE than 4GB (DVD is super compressed from 15GB!) Compressed to a rar or zip it would probably be 8GB compressed download). Anyway DVD shipping is compulsary if you notice, if it was download only with optional DVD that would be shown as optional.   10. Biggin Hill mm if it's P2, can't help with that the manager and other parts a re improved since. If P3.. why are you running at 800x600? I think the lowest the manager will run properly in is 1024x768. Certainly we haven't tested 800x600, these days even cheap monitors and laptops are 1280x or so. Run it at the max res your monitor will allow, and run OFF /CFS3 likewise. OFF prefers higher res to run better, not lower. Manager will run at your desktop res. Also 800x600 isnt 16:10 so prob best leave that at 4:3 ? The very first screen is full screen on XP in P3 and slightly reduced on Vista leave that don't worry. (P2 can't remember, and not tested in V64)

  13. We appreciate the work done by Herr Prop-Wasche and Fortiesboy. They have had more time to tests specific values in the XDPs. Although to put some perspective on it we have throughout the 5 years of development tried many many settings, including reduced threshold values of the Break parameter, and various values higher and lower of the parts, combined with the gun round types, gun damage values etc. I know as we have sat and edited entire aircraft xdps 100's of times and tested over and over until our brains hurt (even more than normal ;)). Many things have to be considered to balance up all things; people's shooting skills, (some can get 7 kills at the drop of a hat (ahem Speedski ;)), some can't hit a barn door at 10 paces (no names), some fight in a/c with 1 gun and a tiny amount of ammo (Nieuports), some fight in top craft like the Fokker DVII with 2 guns and 1000 rounds so eat aircraft for lunch, some have effects set low, etc Importantly, these effects are all, already in BH&H, i.e. they are not "new effects". The broken wing is not suddenly appearing on the model because it's new. The damage value or break point value is reduced in these modifed XDPs so it will appear more often - quicker and easier to see. Every broken wing strut, every shattered wing tip is modelled by the modeller and already there on the craft they made. (Dull job it is too doing all these things that are not often seen). In the Fokker DVII I modelled the broken wings and wing tips on that craft as above. I showed video of the flapping canvas I added to some in the past too. These bits haven't been added by Chris and Dave but have been allowed to show earlier from reducing values. So in other words these effects are seen by people already - just not as often as these revised lower values in Chris and Dave's modifed XDPs allow. We have gone back to the reduced TVs as we had before, nudged by Chris and Dave's work to have another look, however we must keep the balance and realism and have made some similar changes plus others which gives a more rounded experience we feel plus more effects. This will be in a future update. We are however still trying to keep the kills reasonably realistic - to have our cake and eat it hopefully. P4 will have even more improved effects as we now have time to spend on all the other ideas we have had sitting there waiting for a free moment over the years.

No one is "interfering" with what you do, there is no script to kill people when they are doing well, or extra code to "get one over on the player" No code that says hey AI that guy is going to "win" turn on "kill mode" and go get him so we can win. AI do what they do, we don't force anything. If you crash into a tree you crashed we didn't make it happen by moving the tree 6 feet ;) If you got jumped by 6 EIIIs and you were low on ammo, that's exactly what just happened, we didn't create them specially for you, they were already there doing their own mission and you didn't notice.

  16. Probably best to send details, screenshots, screen resolution, sample pilot dossier and logs to supprt address Oldham. No it doesn't use notepad or something the OFF Manager displays it.
  17. On the ground they are trying to attack you, and avoid the ground, and avoid AA (and usually getting hit!) ... so not ideal way to test the AI out. Guys can I ask if you find things like this, to initially try to verify there is an issue by checking settings and trying to see what is different.. sometimes it's more than one setting you changed before we jump to conclusions. Maybe ask someone else to check with you with the same settings? It would help us time wise. There's nothing wrong with the DR1 itself. It's not "porked" to coin a well known phrase. British_eh, off tangent for this thread but the DR1 was quite different to the Sop Tripe in performance as well as physically - obvious ones off the top of my head.. DR1 has 4 less ailerons for a start, and no vertical fin (more unstable craft).

  20. Currently the latter. Aces need their individual historically accurate aircraft texture. The player's flight all use the same texture.

  22. Ok. But sitting on the runway the DR1's will circle, and get shot to pieces by your ground fire.. and then crash.
  23. Don't forget in various times or places in campaign you will come up against poor squadrons up to elite squadrons with many aces in. So yes some fights may be easy, but it is VARIABLE, try other times, locations, squads etc.. The point is here, can you stay alive. A few quick kills and you are a dead hero doesn't cut it ;)
  24. No worries UK_Widowmaker. Also check your slider settings, if they are default/low maybe you will see poorer AI too. If it persists, send us the offlog please.
