  1. yeah the positions, both in-cockpit and relative to plane exterior model are off that's why I posted this for some good souls around to pick and clean this mess up
  2. Hello guys, Raven's gunsight topic reminded me I have these sitting on my hdd. As these cockpits are somewhat in "beta" status I decided to upload them here, for evaluation / propheads testing purposes. Please be aware these cockpits are old, going back to early 2009 when I did P-36 one but then never finished it, the next ones followed based on that cockpit, somehow they feel "off" but I can't put my finger on it I upload them so you can fiddle with the positions, maybe find solutions as to why not everything is working correctly etc. In short I decided it's time to get rid of them release them here in forum as they are P-36: P-40B: Tomahawk IIb (AVG): get them here: Hawk family COCKPITS.zip
  3. gotta love the other thread I'm about to open too
  4. my thoughts exactly...
  5. check gunsights.jp, that site has alot of info on gunsights of various nations from WW2
  6. fellas, get the man beer and strippers, he deserves them! now IF we had original Su-17 cockpit max file...
  7. The rivet counters are those who almost killed the genre. On hard settings sf is quite realistic in fm, weapons department
  8. much appreciated Ed!
  9. it should be in a knowledge base, as far as I remember it was a trick that was making the desired part of the model being set as "destroyed" thus not showing, but I never fiddled with that @Veltro seeing as my "quick stand-in cockpit work" turns into dedicated P-61 cockpit, could you send me 3ds of the pilot's canopy? would help me alot with making the cockpit better fitting your model (and the real thing)
  10. latest, except one stand alone install of SF2E+both Exp packs which is at Dec2010c (I think) for more real clouds altitude
  11. we need Stalingrad map for this beauty! oh wait... excellent!
  12. welcome Order66 the Strike Fighters series are games, so are all "simulators" DCS included. Period. but what an awesome kind of games they are!
  13. yup, the second screenshot (with pair of F-14s) is the better one maybe add small patches of snow below the snow line? I noticed them now. Looks definitely better in my opinion edit: comparing your tiles with the real thing, new terrain engine my ass...
  14. Monty, that's good news! We need it badly for both WW2 and Korea, so updated model would be great addition!
  15. Martin it stalled when you wrote me it's on hold, but given I did two more sov pits later (the Mig15/17s) going back to it won't be a problem for me
  16. Awesome Ed! I'll have the cockpit ready in several days
  17. bumpmaps = normalmaps, sorry for confusion will there be LWP version?
  18. great news! Martin have you considered adding bumpmapping to it? I can life without that, I can't without smoother models though
  19. does Sas1946 rings any bells? I wish some modding group, aside from Histomod worked on say "your" type of Sweden/Nato early 50s mod... but I'm sure it will still have all the gameplay flaws of Il2 there
  20. Centurion, looks very good, one advice, try making the mountains, oh the whole set in general -slightly darker and with greater contrast (use curves! standard contrast isn't producing the same shade on different tiles!) -desaturate the tiles, will look better from higher air also try adding tile-specific heightmaps to displace mountains a little more, check my Israeli or Germany sets for how it's done
  21. and when the cockpit is finished and working correctly
  22. true, but anythig like even "guys, we shifted our resources to mobile apps at the moment" would be appreciated TK being TK accustomed us to his way of communicating with fan base, yet other small companies are very vocal about their plans
  23. yes they totally had! Giorgio A. Tsuokalos is doing new show about it
