View File Thirdwire A-4E to K Cockpit Repaint Thirdwire A-4E/F/G/H/K Cockpit Repaint by Nyghtfall v1.2 ======================================================== *** SF2V, SF2I, DLC 002 (A-4G) and DLC 005 (A-4K) required for the according Skyhawk-Models *** *** tested in full 5-merged installation *** Update v1.2 =========== All A-4E-based cockpits are now included with a repaint similar to the A-4F from the initial release, together with updated cockpit.inis: - A-4E, E_65, E_67, A_Ahit, E_Ahit_73 - A-4F, F_74, F_Ahit - A-4G - A-4H_Ahit, H_Ahit_68, H_Ahit_70, H_Ahit_73 - A-4K Early Variants (A-4A to C and L) will follow later, as they require some more paintwork. Update v1.1 =========== Crusader did some excellent cockpit.ini-tweaks and corrected the following issues: - chaff/flare counter entries for the A-4F_74 (one counter for chaff, one for flares) - added entry for the ECM Control knob, will switch from "Rec" to "Rpt" if ECM is turned on - ECM box, "Rec" light, new function, now works as Type=THREAT_SAM_WARNING_LIGHT . Thats the normal operating setting of the ECM, light indicates that emissions are received and ECM can be switched to transmit. - Spoilers Indicator light - changed entry to use external animation link function, now the spoiler light works correctly (gears extended and ground contact, airbrake extended) Initial Release v1.0 ==================== This is a repaint for Thirdwire's Stock A-4F and A-4F(74) Cockpits. While working on a proper A-4PTM-Cockpit based on the A-4F-one, this was a secondary result and maybe someone will find it useful. I aimed for an worn look and instruments, that are a bit darker than the stock ones and so I redid most instruments. I also corrected the font used on the instruments (special thanks to The Trooper for the font!). A slightly changed cockpit.ini for both planes is provided also. I corrected the ArrestingHook- and Gearlever, which are rotating levers now (rather than sliding ones). Known Issues ============= - Landinggear-Lever only turns 47° instead of 90° --> In the Cockpit-LOD, the lever-mesh is missing the bottom, so I used this, to avoid a visible hole. Sources ======= - US Navy and Marine Corps A-4 Skyhawk Units of the Vietnam War, Osprey 2007 - Scooter! The Douglas A-4 Skyhawk Story, Crécy 2011 - A-4 Skyhawk Association, http://a4skyhawk.org/ - Airliners.net Installation ============ 1. unzip to a temporary folder 2. open "Put_Content_In_Your_Mod" folder and do as you were told, if asked to overwrite, say 'yes' :P 3. enjoy! Credits ======= - Thirdwire and TK for a great game and nice models I used. - Crusader ini-Tweaks for the update (Thanks m8!) - me template, paintwork, ini-edits, zipping the pack. Thanks ====== - Crusader for your work to improve this pack! - The Trooper for providing the proper font used on instruments. - mue for his LOD-Viewer, which was a BIG help! Legal Stuff =========== Use whatever parts you need as long as it's not for payware. And giving credits is also not to bad. P.S. ==== If you have any problems with this pack or have suggestions and hints, feel free to PM me. 05_03_2016 Submitter Nyghtfall Submitted 10/27/2015 Category Jet Cockpits

First: I don't like your attitude and your general tone is inappropriate. Second: You rant about the work someone has done for free and in his/her freetime. So if people wouldn't do that, you would have NOTHING at all. Since you aren't a modder and don't want to become one, I guess it's ok to say, that you don't have a clue, what the reasons for painting on things are. Feel free to try to create just one skin....don't panic, you will not become a modder for one skin, but that way, you will see, that there are good reasons for that decision (Gunrunner named some already). But if it's easy, as you say, feel free to change the skins the way you want...nobody will stand in your way. Third: Be sure, your idea will not be "considered from now on"...at least by me. Forth: I still don't like your attitude.

I guess it's just some sort of information like your amount of posts above it. But I'm sure, if you like a change there, any moderator can help you out with a warning point. JK

While working primarily on an A-4PTM cockpit based on the A-4F one, I repainted the base A-4F cockpit as secondary result. I tried to give it a worn look while making the instruments a tad darker. Still not finished and still experimenting with colors though. If someone has good pictures of the sidepanels, PM me please! Top pictures are the repaint, bottom are stock. -
Oh my, I found it...it's called Calibri and part of windows. I thought it would be some special font, so I didn't even look at what fonts I had. Stupid me So Calibri for numbers and Arial for letters it is. @Wrench: Arial and Arial narrow is what I used...most letters and numbers work that way too. Thanks

I see the problem, that after a while there is a chance you will see no (or lesser) free models at all, because modder may say..."Everyone gets paid for their models, why not me?". But in general I like the idea, because, as you said, the chance for less fancy planes to appear in the SF-series rises. I am not wealthy and don't have money to give away for free, but I would like to support that idea. A question stays: When is a model considered to be finished?

This is simple mod of Spectre8750's A-10A/C. I removed the CM Dispensers, PavePenny Pod and the Gun....although I think the Gun should be covered rather than deleted. The tank is a C-130E tank I found in a weaponspack. I can sent you the files tomorrow. The Scooter looks interesting! Maybe a twoseater could be used a air controller too, just like OV-10s. Eastern block planes seem to be difficult to find....Only An-2, An-12's and a modded Il-10 come to my mind. Maybe Tu-16, but that one I don't really see in that role. On the other hand DC-10 and 747 are used as waterbombers too, so why not. :)

You always need a separate Pylon model to add. If you have one, you can set them up either as fakepilot...that way they are always on. Or the alternative way is to set them up as weapons....that way you can select them if needed. The drawback of this method is, you need an extra weaponsgroup available on the plane (maximum is 6), that is used just for the pylon. It works well, if you have different pylons to choose from. Fakepilot is the easier way though.

"The Last of the Best!" The last of 2960 A-4 Skyhawk built...in 2 variations. The one with "Navy/Marines" was the first scheme used on February 1979. After delivery to USMC squadron VMA-331, they changed some bits of it and added the "The Last of the Best! A4's Forever!" - True words. The second part are Malaysian A-4PTM / TA-4PTM... I adjusted the colors and added the worn look. The single seater is dedicated to Lt. Khoo (callsign Frog) from the RMAF, who flew the real bird and that helped me out here with information about this somewhat shady (at least for me) Scooter-variant. Still working on getting all new Pylons and Rails skinned (Maverick- and Sidewinder-Rail, aswell as all Pylons are done yet). I hope you like it. Edit: Typo. -
