  1. That's the dumbest s**t I've heard all day. This is all in good fun and it's certainly not about competition. Everybody borrows from eachother and there's nothing wrong with doing that. Anyway, for the weaponbay you could model a rack similar to the m299 used for hellfires and set the bay to load it.

  3. I didn't bother changing back the fat wing to a thin wing since I didn't feel it was worth the trouble. If it's that important I might reconsider, though.
  4. I think you should make the copilot smoother and give him a higher resolution texture since you'll be spending 90% of the time in the pit with him next to you.

  6. You can probably improve on the lava tiles a bit by painting over them. Also is it possible to use a specific noisenormal for a given tile? If they could be bumpmapped they'd look ace.
  7. It shouldn't be that difficult to model a low-poly YE-8 from scratch if you put your energy into it a bit.
  8. Are you using 3:4 screen ratio on a widescreen resolution? Your screenies look squashed whereas the render doesn't.

  10. Almost a complete repaint using new techniques, lots of tiny detail added. Now the 50cal no longer fires on its own :)
  11. When I was in Tokyo I saw one of these in 1/72 done up as a VF-102 bird in gull-grey with red/white trim. Totally needs to be a navy bird this one.

  13. No. AFAIK you have to group everything together as one.

Don't do that, because the canopyframe will look pixelated and ugly as f*** unless you're using some ridiculous texture resolution like 4096^2 in which case you need to be drawn, quarted and shot. If we're using visual quality as a median, you'll actually save processing power with adding those polys to the canopyframe compared to doing a big tga which looks as good.
  15. Looks good except for motionblur and reflection which mess up my screen. Anyone find out how to make the bloom more evident during dusk/dawn phases?
  16. You can detach the nose part along a panel line and map it in a more efficient manner, such as pure top/bottom.
  17. Just maximize your perspective window with alt+w and then use that to select your faces for mapping, just in case you're doing it from the unwrap window.
