  1. Something cool about this plane, and an excellent idea I though. Theres a control or something within the cockpit that allows the pilot to literally sidestep the aircraft for strafing runs. It basically deploys the clam-shell speedbrake on one aileron combined with full opposite rudder. So, in those A2G strafing runs on trucks and tanks moving perpendicular to you, you don't have to worry about maintaining alignment, just match your sideslip with their movement rate.
  2. My mother's side of the family lives in Sweden, Stockholm at the moment. Used to live in Lulea though.
  3. Ahh, gotcha. Once I get my new PC, I'm gonna start playing SF a lot more. Can't wait to try your terrains.
  4. I meant the map at the very top of the topic. Doesn't exactly look like North Dakota to me, lol.
  5. Well, the Il-2 site is down too. I guess UbiSoft is updating or something.
  6. Wait, so where exactly is the terrain based? The Bering Strait?
  7. Dunno, but its funky at the moment.
  8. lol, well, part of the problem solved, at least.
  9. I think it is in the root USAF directory. Might try just searching for it in USAF. Didn't know it could change all that though, might wanna try it myself.
  10. Any chance you'll set up a store any time soon? I'd like a BioHaz shirt or ball cap. I know you mentioned it before...
  11. Don't know how accurate this is, but amazon.com has LO:MAC listed with an August 19th, 2003 release date. And yes, you can pre-order for $39.99. I'm gonna wait and see if UbiSoft offers the same deal they did on Il-2:FB though. Stock price, free 2-day shipping.
  12. Like the sandy runway / taxiways. Is this a Kola Peninsula Campaign?
  13. I don't know, it seemed really smooth during normal play, but I thought I felt it stutter a bit. It definately began to lose FPS over big cities. Maybe its because I always ran it at full graphics, everything. I dunno. I'll tell you how it runs on my Alienware, when I get it, lol.
  14. Sounds like you got some good days ahead of you, PC. Shake Jody's hand for all of us, will ya?
  15. You don't need canards, just large control surfaces. I think an F-15 can do it, or at least, I have in Jane's F-15, lol. I know an Su-27 can, and they don't have canards.
  16. I wasn't so much thinking about a specific type, just thinking of expanding SF with newer, more in depth ground textures. I want to see ground textures as good as Falcon 4.0 some day.
  17. So I take it, Dueces, that its not possible to add tile types to the sim? You can only overwrite current ones?
  18. Curious, what type of FPS are you getting? I always feel like mine is hanging up at full graphics.
  19. Now imagine doing that solely from the cockpit.
  20. Bacardi, about the Suncom stick and throttle. Always wanted one, and would have bought one instead of the X-45 if I could have. Curious though, how many games allow you to use the split throttle?
  21. So, you need to frequently clean the Cougar? Like, exactly what needs cleaning? Also, compared to my X-45, I'd like to know about the Cougar's durability. I mean, if something that high quality suffers from bad pots and spikage, seems like my X-45 definately would, probably is, and I just don't realize it.
  22. Flanker is an excellent sim. The padlocking takes a bit to get used to though, and dogfighting is completely different than in any other sim I've played.
  23. 12 now.. I mean 11, lol.
  24. 13 more posts and my count here will equal my count at X-Plane.org. I'm considered an Old Timer, there, lol.
  25. Any way you could install USB ports on the front of your PC? Make it a bit easier to switch.
