  1. Tomcats in Vietnam (updated)

    Update:

    Changed aircraft from F-14B to Typhoid´s F-14A+, so you don´t have to edit the loadout anymore.
    Added 3 squadrons (1 flyable, 2 AI) : VF-213 and 2 A-6 squadrons
    *note: There are a lot (and I mean a very, very, very large LOT) of sams, so I recommend you increase the number of chaff to your F-14´s.Also, you´ll need Typhoid´s F-14A+ and the VF-213 skin for the Mirage Factory F-14A.

    My first attempt of creating a campaign.

    This a fictional campaign set in 1992 where 3 F-14 squadrons (VF-31,VF-103, and VF-154) are sent to Vietnam.

    You need the 3 versions of the F-14(A,B,D) what i did was i got TMF F-14A and Typhoid´s F-14D, then got fractalnoise´s avionics update and which comes with the B´s data and added it a skin. You need Fist of the fleet´s VF-103 and VF-31 skins (put the vf103 in the B version and the vf31 in the A and D versions) and the VF-154 skin which comes with either the avionics update or the F-14D (sorry I can´t remember which).
    Digital overload´s CVN75
    Marcfighters SU-27
    Boopidoo´s team SU-15
    101 tfs´s (uploaded by Silverbolt) MiG-31 BM
    Note: You will have to modify the F-14B to carry bombs.
    If i forgot to mention anyone who worked on all the things I used contact me and I will put your name here.
    Just drop the "Tomcats in Vietnam" folder to the wings over vietnam/campaigns folder (you need the vietnamsea terrain)

    Remember it´s my first campaign so it won´t be perfect.

    If there´s any problem´s please tell me and I´ll try to fix them

    Happy flying

  2. Red Wings Over Dhimar v1.0

    RED WINGS OVER DHIMAR

    Campaign mod for SFG

    by Baltika

    ********************************************************************

    This is a very simple .ini edit to enable Red-flyable squadrons in the stock Burning Sands campaign for SFG. It is tested only in SFG with the Oct 2008b patch, although it should probably work fine in SFP1 as well, and the level of patch should not really be an issue. It WILL NOT work in WoV/WoE/WoI unless you have the stock desert terrain installed to those games, so be warned.

    Of course, I spent a day putting this together and then found the old Red Wings campaign lurking on a back-up of my old SFP1 mods. I can't remember where this was d/led from, and it certainly doesn't seem to be available now (maybe at avsim?).

    Anyway, the art of making Red-side flyable campaigns seems to have fallen by the wayside, so it's probably no bad thing that this version be uploaded for all to use. The campaign files will not write over the stock Burning Sands campaign, so don't worry if you have a modded stock campaign, eg with vinman's Burning Sands upgrades.

    This is a back-to basics mod.

    I run it on

    Stock SFG
    Patched to October 2008b

    No weapons packs or anything else. If you have Bunyap's pack installed, you may beed to edit the supply entries for each flyable air unit (in the campaign_data.ini) to get the correct weapons to show up.

    You will need to make the stock MiGs flyable - but if you are d/ling this campaign, you've already done that, right ;-)

    If not, you will need to install these pits:-

    MiG-19S Pit by ordway
    http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=6519

    MiG-17F Pit by ordway
    http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=6469

    Su-7BM Pit by Kukulino, modded from boopidoo's Su-15TM pit
    http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=6159

    MiG-21F / PF / PFM pit by Paladrian
    http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=1919

    MiG-21MF Pit by Paladrian
    http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=1745

    I STRONGLY ADVISE that you DO NOT use the modded aircraft_DATA.inis supplied with some of these pits - they do not incorporate all the FM and AI tweaks to the stock FMs included with the new patch, so you will be busting your MiG down to a previous version if you do.

    Also, I have not included hangar screens or loading screens for the MiGs, but there are such things available if you want to add them in.

    I have set up the d/l package so it should be obvious where everything has to go. I have included a new mainscreen and title music, and Badger's Red-side Pilot Record Screen which is definitely Red-side orientated, so do not install the items in the SFG/Menu folder if you want to keep your existing mainscreen and title music.

    For that full-on Soviet experince, you may want to go the whole hog and install one of the Soviet comms mods available at CA.

    Any questions, give me shout on combatace.

    Cheers,

    Baltika

  4. Line Backer III v1.1

    Thanks for downloading my Linebacker III campaign. This is release (v1.1). If you are installing this over the beta release or v1.0, the change log at the bottom should let you know which files need to be overwritten.

    This is a completely fictional campaign senario created to allow folks to fly some of the 80's/90's era aircraft in a campiagn situation. It's set up to be fun, and not an accurate representation of what would have happened had there been a conflict in Vietnam in the 90's.

    I would recommend a dedicated install for this campaign to prevent corrupting something, but it doesn't need it. See the installation instructions for more details. They aren't required downloads or listed in the install instructions, but I would also highly recommend the "Green Hell 2" mod for the terrain and the "wide sky" mod as well to get the most fun out of this campaign. If you want an extra challenge, add the soviet SAMs pack available at CA, and keep an eye out for those SA-19's...

    -----------------------------------------------------------------

    Included in the zip file:
    -Vietnam Targets.ini, movement.ini and types.ini
    -LBIII campaign folder
    -F-16C and F-18C
    -Tornado SEA camo
    -Weapon data to be added
    -Menu Screen
    -Ground Object updates
    -Aircraft Data.ini and loadout.ini updates for use with SP5

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

    All the required downloads are availabe at Combat Ace. However, if you can't find something here, try Column5.us. Required Downloads (sorry there's a lot...):
    -Bunyaps Weps Pack
    -Latest 3rd wire weps editor
    -LAU-88_AGM_65D by KingAlbert
    -Infantry Pack by Kesselbrut
    -US Armor Pack (labeled 'US 70's to Now Pack' in downloads)
    -BMP-1 by Rebel Ryder
    -F-15C (recommend the MSIP F-15C/D for an updated HUD)
    -AV-8B+
    -A-6E_TRAM
    -A-7E_Late_MF (from the MF A-7E pack)
    -F-14A
    -F-16A_BLK10_NDC (only pilot and fx are needed for F-16C_BLK50)
    -Tornado GR1 from Tornado Pack
    -LHA-1 USS Tarawa
    -Soviet Artillery Pack
    -SU-27 (available at http://marcfighters.combatace.com
    -MIG-29C
    -B-52H (requires files from B-52G)
    -F-14D
    -SU-17
    -MIG-25P

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

    Installation:

    1. Recommended: Start with a clean, patched copy of WOE and Add entire VietnamSEA terrain folder from WOV.

    or

    If you don't want a separate install for the campaign, you can just follow the rest of the steps and add everything to your existing WOE (w/WOV terrain) or WOE/WOV Merged install. Most of the files you're installing shouldn't interfere with anything else, but I can't promise that. I would recommend a seperate install.

    2. Add the included vietnamSEA_targets.ini, vietnamsea_movement.ini and vietnamsea_types.ini into the terrain folder (allow to overwrite)

    3. Drop the LineBackerIII campaign folder into the campaigns folder.

    4. Add the F-16C_BLK40 and FA-18C folders into the aircraft folder. Also run the installer for the F-16A_BLK10_NDC into a temporary folder, and copy all the pilot and extra files (effects, etc.) from the temporary directory into the appropriate directory in your Linebacker III (or WOE) installation.

    5. Install Bunyap's weps pack.

    6. Overwrite the TER_CBU entry and the HTS_POD entry in the weapondata.ini file with the included weapon data and add the data for the ALQ-126. You will need to overwrite the exsisting entries, not just add the data at the bottom. The only difference is the attachment points have been adjusted to allow only the outer and bottom attachment points to be used (for the F-16). The HTS_Pod active year has been changed to 1991 which seems to be more accurate. Make sure to open the weapon in the weapon editor afterwards so it shows up.

    7. Copy all the data.ini files from in the ground object update folder into their appropriate folders in the groundobject folder. This updates all the SAM's, AAA, and vehicles so they show up after the 80's.

    8. Install all of the required downloads. Drop the included F-111F_data.ini file into the F-111F aircraft folder and allow it to replace. Do the same for the inlcuded files for the Tornado GR.

    9. If your doing a separate install, place mainscreen.BMP and mainscreen_alt.BMP in your menu folder. I have included two different mainscreens, and you can switch between the two by simply naming whichever one you want to use mainscreen.bmp and changing the name of the other one to something else. There is also an icon you can use. I would also reccommend saving a copy of one of you favorite 90's rock songs in .wav format and renaming it mainscreen.wav and dropping that in the menu folder. I chose "Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns 'n Roses. Really sets the mood!

  5. The Last Stand

    The Last Stand

    December 14th, 1974. Being almost certain that the US wont intervene anymore, the North Vietnamese Army (NVA) launch a full scale invasion of the Republic of South Vietnam.
    Defence aid to the South from the US has been drastically reduced and the South Vietnamese economy has all but collapsed. Ammo, spares and fuel are in short supply, and so is the moral of the South Vietnamese people. Your only hope is to hold out long enough to gain renewed US support.
    The South VNAF currently have the Worlds fourth largest airforce thanks to the "Enhance" and "Enhance Plus" programs from the US.........

    Historical only in the Aircraft, Units and Air Bases used by the VNAF squadrons. Other than that you will be limited to hitting Targets in Southern NV/South Vietnam/Laos/Cambodia only - You wont be going up North - the VNAF never had the range anyway.

    Only for Wings Over Vietnam SP4 version v08.30.06 - only tested with the default terrain also - but should be no issues adding trees etc

    MUST be a new install - none of the stock campaigns will work after you have installed this!

    Read the instructions - they will tell you which jets to download and where from

    The gamplay file should give you some hints of how the campaign should be played

    Only parts of this Mod comes under the CA Freeware licencing - read the Credits file for details

    Douglas A-1HVNAF and A-1JVNAF Skyraiders - Razbam “The Skyraiders Vol 2” for SF.(www.razbam.org) Payware see note below
    AN-2 Colt (Pasko & Team)- www.column5.us
    Bell “Armed” UH-1H “Huey” - at CombatAce - you need to get the UH-34 also as below.
    Douglas AC-47 “Spooky” - “A Team” Skunkworks (http://cplengineeringllc.com/SFP1/ )
    Cessna A-37B Dragonfly – “A Team” Skunkworks (http://cplengineeringllc.com/SFP1/ )
    UH-34 Seabat – Only needed for the UH-1H sounds and cockpit – “A Team” Skunkworks (http://cplengineeringllc.com/SFP1/

    Note1: Razbam Skyraiders Vol 2 is worth the money for the cockpit alone – however if you are stuck there is a free A-1H at CombatAce – if you do this the quickest way would be to change the campaigns data.ini and .ini files and replace the A-1HVNAF and A-1JVNAF with A-1H and the skin for the A-1H you want to use. You would then need to change the A-1H_loadout.ini.

    Played and tested loads but as ever there may be some issues to resolve somewhere.

  6. WOE:BC Berlin Crisis

    This is my first campaign that I developped for Wings over Europe.

    Background Story
    ############

    The campaign is set in an alternative history, where the Berlin Wall did not fall on November 9, 1989. Instead East-Germans trying to pass to the west were gunned down by East-German and Soviet border guards. In the following months the Soviets intervene to suppress a popular uprising in East-Germany. Unfortunately a small skirmish between US marines and Soviet/East-German troops in Berlin provides the spark for the third world war. The Soviets, in their effort to get rid of the pesky capitalist island in their midst, decide to capture West-Berlin. Realizing that this will provoke a retaliation from NATO, the Soviets decide to attack West-Germany straight away.

    As a NATO pilot, you will fend off the Soviet invasion. The campaign itself only lasts 30 days, since NATO troops should survive for about 3 weeks until the first convoys from the US would arrive.

    Installation Instructions:
    ################

    You have the choice of following an extended readme (26 pages) or a shortened readme with only the required links. The installation file also contains several modified ini's, hangar and loading screens.

    The extended readme will show you were you can download the files and how they have to be installed.

    Since this is my first campaign any feedback is more then welcome.

    WOE:BC Version 1.0
    #############

    With this version you get the campaign with all the required aircraft and ground objects. The groundwar uses the default campaign from WOE. It's my intention to customise and extend this campaign with future patches, but with the current file s and downloads you can already take to the skies and fight the Soviets.

  7. Battle of the Philippines 1941-42 v1.1

    **********************************************

    PACIFIC AIR WAR

    THE BATTLE OF THE PHILIPPINES 1941-42

    v1.1

    A Campaign Mod for SFP1/WoV/WoE

    by Baltika

    **********************************************

    On 7 December 1941, Imperial Japan launched a combined full-scale assault on the Dutch East Indies, the Philippines and the Malay Peninsula. The US Fleet was attacked and decimated at Pearl Harbor. Allied defence strategy was predicated on Japan attacking only a single Allied power, with the others sending military assistance in the event of an assault. The Japanese grand strategy left the Allies reeling, falling back on every front under the strength and ferocity of the Japanese attack.

    Lt. Gen. Masaharu Homma, commander of the Japanese 14th Army, was tasked with the invasion of the Philippines. Vice Admiral Ibo Takahashi commanded the IJN 3rd Fleet, Philippines Force, for the amphibious assault. Air Support was provided by the IJAAF 5th Air Group under Lt. Gen. Hideyoshi Obata, and the IJNAF 11th Air Fleet under Vice Admiral Nishizo Tsukahara.

    Gen. Douglas MacArthur commanded the combined US and Philippino defensive force, organised into the US Army Forces in the Far East.

    Maj. Gen. Lewis H. Brereton commanded the Far East Air Force, consisting of P-40 Warhawk, B-17 bomber and P-35 Guardsman squadrons. The Philippino Air Force fielded a squadron of valiant but outclassed P-26A "Peashooters."

    The Battle of the Philippines lasted until the final surrender of the garrison on 8 May 1942. The survivors suffered brutal treatment in captivity. Thousands died on the "Bataan Death March" or working in slave labour camps.

    The Philippines were finally liberated in 1945. But that is another story. . .

    You may also wish to install either Deuces' Vietnam_SEA terrain upgrades, or Brain32's Vietnam_SEA tileset with CA_Stary's Green Hell mod, as those are compatible with the Philippines terrain. Squadron screens included in this mod are shot using Deuce's tiles and treemod for WoV.

    INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

    It is recommended that you install this campaign to a dedicated PTO install of SFP1/WoV/WoE. You don't need a separate install just for this campaign, it will sit happily in an existing PTO install. Just be careful about over-writing any of your modded files. The most obvious one is the SquadronList.ini. Unzip the d/l package to a temp file and check its contents before installation. If unsure, BACK UP YOUR MODS FIRST!!!!!!!!!

    If you have already installed v1.0 of this campaign, simply unzip the files to a temp folder, and then copy them over to your existing install, overwriting when requested to do so. Make sure you don't have any "nested" folders when copying over.

    If you are starting from scratch, here's the drill:

    1. Install Strike Fighters Project One

    2. Patch up to v 083006

    3. Install Bunyap's weapons pack (Required for WW2 weapons)

    4. Delete all stock aircraft

    5. Install the aircraft, ground objects and terrain listed above

    6. Install Charles' WW2 formations mod

    7. Install the PAW1 Campaign Mod files to the relevant folder of your new install. The simplest thing is to retain the file structure and copy the unpacked files over. It should be obvious where everything has to go. Overwrite when requested to do so. You may want to backup your original SQUADRONLIST.INI. Or, just cut and paste the squadrons from the included list to the end of your current one, renumbering where the last one leaves off.

    8. VERY IMPORTANT! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

    9. Browse to your /Terrain folder. You will see folders called "Phillipines" [sic] and "Philippines1941" - inside the Philippines1941 folder is just a bunch of .ini files, some new planning maps and 1941 static P-40E skins, credit to Wrench. Open the "Phillipines" folder, and copy and paste its entire contents into your "Philippines1941" folder, EXCEPT the following files:-

    P40E1.BMP
    P40E1Dest.BMP
    P40E2.BMP
    PlanningMap1.bmp
    PlanningMap2.bmp
    PlanningMap3.bmp
    Phillipines.INI
    Phillipines_briefing.INI
    Phillipines_DATA.INI
    Phillipines_dogfight.INI
    Phillipines_movement.INI
    Phillipines_nations.INI
    Phillipines_targets.INI
    Phillipines_types.INI
    Phillipines.HFD
    Phillipines.TFD

    You will see that the 1941 terrain folder already contains the necessary .ini files. I have also resized Wrench's P-40E OD skin to be used for the parked P-40s. Otherwise you will get the wrong type of P40 for 1941 parked on your runways. I have also included new planning maps for the 1941 version of the Philippines terrain.

    11. IF YOU DO NOT CARRY OUT THE ABOVE STEPS YOU WILL GET A CTD WHEN YOU TRY TO FLY THE CAMPAIGN ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

    12. If you are running WoV/WoE, you will need to change the catfile pointer in the terrain.ini to get it to work properly. Any problems, give me a shout.

    That's it. "Battle of the Philippines" should now be available at the campaign selection screen.

    KNOWN ISSUES:-
    ************

    1. Flying the Val off the IJN Ryujo, you will probably blow up on the deck. I think it has to do with the positioning of the catapults and the size of the plane, but I don't know how to fix it. The Zero works just fine. So, if you really want to fly a whole campaign in the Val, select start mission "In Air" or "Near Target." Downloading the updated Val available at Combatace may fix this.

    2. On the subject of the Ryujo, I know the model used is the IJN Akagi. There are quite a few placeholders for unit types etc, but these are marked in the main campaign_data.ini if you are interested. You can easily swap the Akagi for Hinchinbrooke's IJN Zuiho, which is closer to the light carrier model. Install the Zuiho, and change the CarrierType= Flag in the Carrier Units section of the campaign_data.ini to read CarrierType=Zuiho. I got random CTDs after doing this, but it may be something in my install.

    3. The north end of Luzon is behind the 50k "Wall" at the edge of the map. For this reason, Japanese ground forces have already landed at the start of the campaign, and you may bump into the wall in the early days.

    4. The ALT+N function often makes you crash into the mountains in central Luzon, particularly flying a Zero campaign. To avoid this, make good use of your planning map to move your waypoints to ensure your flight path is over low ground where possible. Otherwise, fly the whole mission from the deck and back. Yes, you heard me, pilot ;-)

    5. There are a lot more Japanese planes available which are not flyable in campaign. This is because the bulk of the Japanese forces start on "off-map" bases on Formosa. Thanks to Stwa for that particular trick, cheers, mate ;-) Maybe in chapter two you can fly a Tony or whatever ;-)

    6. I have now much more thoroughly playtested the ground war, and it should run properly. It is quite carefully scripted to achieve a historical outcome. However, a few odd things may still happen in the campaign. Please report any strangeness to me at combatace, cheers ;-)

    7. If you don't like the red text for start/end campaign screens, browse to your SFP1/Menu folder and delete the OVERLAYTEXTSETTING.INI file to go back to the stock text colour.

  9. Linebacker III (Beta)

    Thanks for downloading my Linebacker III campaign. This is pretty much the finished version. I'm only calling this a Beta simply because it hasn't been extensively tested.

    This is a completely fictional campaign senario created to allow folks to fly some of the 80's/90's era aircraft in a campiagn situation. It's set up to be fun, and not an accurate representation of what would have happened had there been a conflict in Vietnam in the 90's. The squadron names/numbers are just what was there from the Linebacker II campaign I used as a template, so many of them may be incorrect for the type of aircraft used. Also, I didn't really spend any time on which skins to use, so most the default skin for most squadrons will be whatever the default skin for the aircraft is.

    I would recommend a dedicated install for this campaign to prevent corrupting something, but it doesn't need it. See the installation instructions for more details. They aren't required downloads or listed in the install instructions, but I would also highly recommend the "Green Hell" mod for the terrain and the "wide sky" mod as well to get the most fun out of this campaign.

    Included in the zip file:
    -Vietnam Targets.ini, movement.ini and types.ini
    -LBIII campaign folder
    -F-16C and F-18C
    -TER_CBU weapon rack
    -Menu Screen
    -Ground Object updates

    All the required downloads are availabe at Combat Ace. However, if you can't find something here, try Column5.us. Required Downloads:
    -Bunyaps Weps Pack
    -LAU-88_AGM_65D by KingAlbert
    -Infantry Pack by Kesselbrut
    -US Armor Pack (labeled 'US 70's to Now Pack' in downloads)
    -BMP-1 by Rebel Ryder
    -F-15C (recommend the MSIP F-15C/D for an updated HUD)
    -F-111F from F-111 Package (look in the readme for where do get the cockpit)
    -AV-8B+
    -A-6E_TRAM
    -A-7E_Late_MF (from the MF A-7E pack)
    -F-14A
    -F-16A_BLK10_NDC (only pilot and fx are needed for F-16C_BLK40)
    -Tornado GR1 from Tornado Pack
    -LHA-1 USS Tarawa
    -Soviet Artillery Pack
    -SU-27 (marcfighters.combatace.com)
    -Mig-29C

    5. Overwrite the TER_CBU entry in the weapondata.ini file with the included weapon data. You will need to overwrite the exsisting entry, not just add the data at the bottom. The only difference is the attachment points have been adjusted to allow only the outer and bottom attachment points to be used (for the F-16). Make sure to open the weapon in the weapon editor afterwards so it shows up.

    6. Copy all the data.ini files from in the ground object update folder into their appropriate folders in the groundobject folder. This updates all the SAM's, AAA, and vehicles so they show up after the 80's.

    7. Install all of the required downloads.

  13. Falkland 1982 All-Inclusive MOD

    Operaton Corporate

    - The Falklands War -

    A Strike Fighters Project1 MOD by Daniel”Kesselbrut”Himmel

    This is an All-Inclusive MOD of the Falkland War. The MOD contains all major aircrafts and groundunits of the conflict.

    All objects in this pack (aircrafts, houses, vehicles, tiles, textures….) are free, but that means they are not freeware. If you want to use something out of the pack for your own MOD please ask for a written permission by me via PM at the combatace forum. I will forward your request to the owner of the model you want to use.

    The pack will run without errors on SFP1 and SFP Gold only. At WOV you will need a C-130 otherwise the Game crashes during the campaign. At WOE and WOI it will run only after heavy manual cut and paste work….

    Installaton:

    Do a clean SFP1 installation
    install SP4
    rename the folder as "Falkland 1982"

    delete missions - folder
    delete campaigns - folder
    delete /objects/decals - folder
    delete /objects/aircraft - folder
    delete /objects/groundojects - folder
    delete /objects/weapons - folder

    copy the unpacked files into your "Falkland 1982" folder

    open the \Falkland 1982\Flight\MedalsUK.ini

    correct the lines -> Citation=E:\Falkland 1982\Flight\FlightUKMedalVC.txt with your installation-path

    open the \Falkland 1982\Flight\MedalsARG.ini

    correct the lines -> Citation=E:\Falkland 1982\Flight\FlightUKMedalARG.txt with your installation-path

    Notes:

    In the Canberra B you can switch between Pilot and Bombadier with "Hook" key

    single mission year is 1983 - because the only British base was build in May - if you have
    a missiondate before 29th May - the game CTD - self created missions (with mission date) will work normaly - you have to take off from a carrier before 29th May
    The infantry units have too much speed - when I use normal Footslogger speed there are no ground battles.

    All Groundunits are optimated for the game - so they may not realistic.

    All Carriers have zero speed - because they cruise wild through the
    ship formations.

    During the Campaign the groundunits won't attack - in WOI it all works normal.

    The Harrier and SUE have no Groundradar

    WOI

    I'm currently working at the WOI version, but I have multible problems

    - The A-4 flightmodels are cruel
    - same for the SUE
    - same for the Harriers
    - The Canberra Bombbay shows no load
    - no Thrust Vectoring
    - Carrier take offs mostly accidential (carriers maybe not fully supported)

    So a SP5 version of the mod will released 2 months after SP release.

  14. Attrition War 67-73 VERSION 1.1

    *Version 1.1*
    This update lowers the intensity level from Version 1.0. Only enemy squadrons located nearest the border will be assigned missions. Supply has also been reduced for friendly and enemy squadrons. As a result, fewer enemy aircraft should appear in the air, better reflecting the limited nature of the historical conflict. Make no mistake, occasionally the campaign engine will generate large aerial engagements; this is historical, as well.

    Some base assignments have also been altered to better reflect historical positioning. In particular, IAF 101 Squadron has been moved to Bir Gafgafa on the Sinai Peninsula. The IAF maintained a Mirage detachment there throughout the Attrition War period; expect plenty of action along the Suez Canal.

    *The Campaign*
    This campaign depicts the situation in the Middle East as it stood between June 1967 and October 1973. Based on the stock WOI Yom Kippur campaign, it begins in July 1967 and ends in September 1973. When combined with “War for the Water” and “Golan Stalemate,” the player can begin in 1963 and fly a continuous nineteen-year IAF career.

    There will be no all-out air offensive; this is a long, limited conflict. Ground offensive has been disabled, so borders remain static. Supply is minimal, restricting the number of aircraft in the sky. Mission mix includes routine patrols punctuated by occasional strike missions into enemy territory. You may fly a maximum of fifty missions, roughly one every forty-five days.

    IAF fighter and strike squadrons start out with their historical aircraft, entering the campaign at the time they were activated. Some squadrons will upgrade both their livery and their aircraft type during the course of the campaign.

    The Soviets also make appearances in 1970 and 1971.

    *Unit Start Guide and Upgrade Path*
    -- 69 Squadron (1969): F-4E Kurnass (no upgrade)
    -- 101 Squadron (1967): Mirage III C Shahak (no upgrade)
    -- 102 Squadron (1968): A-4H Ahit --> A-4F Ahit (1972)
    -- 107 Squadron (1967): Mirage III C Shahak --> F-4E Kurnass (1971)
    -- 109 Squadron (1967): A-4H Ahit --> A-4F Ahit (1972)

  15. Golan Stalemate 74-82 Version 1.1

    *The Campaign*
    This campaign depicts rising tensions between Israel and Syria from 1974 through 1982. Based on the stock WOI Lebanon War campaign, it begins in April 1974 and ends in May 1982. Played in sequence with the stock WOI campaigns, “Golan Stalemate” allows for a continuous career from the start of the Yom Kippur War to the end of the Lebanon War. When combined with “Attrition War” and "War for the Water," the player can begin in 1963 and fly a continuous nineteen-year IAF career.

    There will be no all-out air offensive; “Golan Stalemate” is a long, limited conflict. You will face Syrian aircraft in and around the Golan Heights and Lebanon. Ground offensive has been disabled, so borders remain static. Supply is minimal, restricting the number of aircraft in the sky. Mission mix includes routine patrols punctuated by occasional strike missions into enemy territory. You may fly a maximum of thirty-six missions, roughly one every ninety days.

    IAF fighter and strike squadrons start out with their historical aircraft, entering the campaign at the time they were activated. Some squadrons will upgrade both their livery and their aircraft type during the course of the campaign.

    *Unit Start Guide and Upgrade Path*
    -- 69 Squadron (1974): F-4E Kurnass (no upgrade)
    -- 101 Squadron (1974): Mirage III C Shahak --> Kfir C2 (1975)

  16. War for the Waters 63-67 VERSION 1.1

    *The Campaign*
    This campaign depicts intermittent border clashes that flared between Israel, Syria, Jordan, and Egypt from 1963 through 1967. These disputes began with disagreements over water rights in the region, slowly escalating into the Six Day War. Based on the stock WOI Six Day War campaign, “War for the Water” begins in August 1963 and ends in May 1967.

    Think of this campaign as a short prelude to the Six Day War. There will be no all-out air offensive; “War for the Water” is a limited conflict. You will face Syrian and Jordanian aircraft in and around the Golan Heights. There might be encounters with Egyptian aircraft near the Sinai Peninsula, as well. Ground offensive has been disabled, so borders remain static. Supply is minimal, restricting the number of aircraft in the sky.

    Mission mix includes routine patrols punctuated by occasional armed recon missions into enemy territory. You may fly a maximum of twelve missions, roughly one every hundred and twenty days. Played in sequence with the stock WOI campaigns, and combined with “Attrition War” and “Golan Stalemate,” the player can begin in 1963 and fly a continuous nineteen-year IAF career.

  18. Out of Africa V1.5

    Out of Africa 3 v1.5
    Migs VS Migs nd SU and Yak in Air-Sea Environment

    UPDATE.
    I changed the su-27 with FC's SU-33. It is too great to be left out.
    PLEASE follow carefully the mod instructions.
    IT does work.
    Loadouts and data.ini for the Su-33sim has been revised a little. I think there was the tailhook missing.
    I chose Drdoyo's SovNavy_4 skin it blends perfectly with the new canards.
    Campaing has been revised in order for both sides to NOT receive airplanes replace. You have to use what you get.

    I also changed the friendly-nation with a fictional aslan nation. I needed it because of the pilottrainingstandars set to POOR. this nation entry is needed only for campaign purposes in oder to have mig VS mig and have the loadout shows. I actually don't even know if this is the correct procedure but it works.

    This is the entry for nations.ini

    [NationXX]
    Name=Aslan
    DisplayName=Kingdom of Aslan
    Alignment=FRIENDLY
    PlayerFlyable=TRUE
    Mercenary=false
    PilotNameList=NamesMercs.lst
    RankList=RanksUSAF.lst
    CallsignList=CallsignsUS.lst
    Formation.Fighter=USFighter
    Formation.Attack=USFighter
    Formation.Bomber=USBomber
    Formation.Transport=USBomber
    Formation.Tank=USTank
    Formation.MobileAD=USAD
    PilotTrainingStandard=POOR
    GenderRatio=0
    DebriefSuccessMusic=DebriefSuccess.wav
    DebriefFailMusic=DebriefFail.wav
    DebriefKilledMusic=DebriefKilled.wav
    SpeechFile=USAFSpeech.cat
    SpeechTextFile=USAFSpeechText.str

    KNOWN ISSUES and NEEDED EXPERIMENTS -revised-

    the campaign needs polishing; basescreens, a better read me, squadron.txt, etc etc;
    IF SOMEONE FEELS LIKE DOING THEM AND RECONTACTING ME THAT WOULD BE GREAT.
    REALLY REALLY great

    There is room for more little campaigns in the future middle age. And I would like to create some atmosphere.

    I ve set the weapon resuppy at day 1; so that you will have immediately all the soviet weapons, AA and AG.

    PLEASE experiment with various AA and AG weapons especially missiles, since I am less than happy with probabilities of kill of even advanced weapons such as R-77 and Kh-29T missiles.
    I modified my weapondata according threads on combatace, and tuned down mig-23mld internal ECM strenght from 15 to 5. Those changes are NOT included in the campaign files I am providing, but please experiment.
    With this changed thoguh the whole air to air war is a little more realistic according to me. I have now a 40-50% hits with AA missiles.
    And it is challenging. FUEL IS an issue. You aìhave to decide wheter engage and pursue, but will you make it back to the carrier?

    Anyway as it is the campaign is fun to play. I changed also all the cockpits of SOVIET planes to the one of the su-27.

    IMPORTANT NOTE
    In order to have working anti-ship missions you need to have the some ships labeled as generic and cargo_ship in their data ini.
    Every Ship so labeled will be thrown randomly in the shipping lanes; for the campaign I suggest you have the tanker and cargo ship and the yavuz frigate only

    IMPORTANT NOTE number two
    make sure that in your weaponpack ALL the weapon listed in loadouts are available for the year 2004; other than that don't touch provided datas and loadouts, everything should go well

    thirdnote
    The tu-16G is optional; it is nice to experiment with. Sometimes in antiship mission you get tasked antiship and they will cover you with long range ARMS such as KSR-11
    Would be nice to have them go on anti-ship mission, but I have not seen yet AI-assigned anti-ship missions

    STORYLINE

    In a parallel universe, in 2004 things, went worse than in ours. World reduced to famine. Corruption, decay, starvation for food and energy. A new technological middle age.
    And in middle age there are mercenaries.
    In this story, ex-soviet union mercenaries
    The fleet of the former Soviet might navy, led by Carrier Gorshokov.
    The business is easy. Mtumba, leader, warlord of poor african state, is at war with Dictator of Madagascar Gorondi who is supplying his rebels. Both of them are evil and bloody dictators, but Mtumba pays well.
    Ships sail to the shore of africa from madagascar. They must be stopped, and this is the bussiness.
    Gorshokov task force, with two old kynda cruisers, and refueller takes place at Rasputin station.
    On board, Su-33s and Mig-29OVT modified for naval and multirole operations, and Yak41.
    They will hit the shipping lanes and, possibly madagascar airports and comm buildings.
    Gorondo has good weapons himself. Mig-29A and Mig23MLD to patrol the skies and perhaps attack the carrier herself.
    War at sea begins. A little meaningless fight in the future middleage.

    I hate writing readmes

    You need:
    Out of africa 3 campaign
    Mig-29OVT
    Su-27 (with su-33 Fast cargo mods)
    Mig-29A
    Mig-23MLD
    yak41
    Tu-16G (optional)
    Ships

    lybian koni
    kynda
    gorshokov carrier
    OsaII class.
    Yavuz

    Madagascar(AE) terrain

    All downloads are at combatace.
    I have provided no skin, and the name of the squadrons are only practical, anyway skins pointed at in the inis can be found on combatace as well.

    Installation.
    Install AE terrain, backup originals ini.files
    Install su-33 from Fastcargo.
    install the inis provided in campaign package in AE folder. Overwrite
    Install data.inis and loadouts provided for each and every aircraft. Overwrite
    Install the ships.
    Install campaign folder (AE3)

    Test everything and complain at the designer, try again and write an email for complain etc etc, you knw the drill...

    CREDITs
    I HAVEN't done anything but the files in the package, everything else belong to respective designers, too many to list. Thank you and if you don't like seeing your work modified and around contact me and I'll retire the campaigns. But please have mercy.

    Please this is freeware, redistibute and have fun, but rememeber that little to nothign here is mine s you have to contact respective designers.

    Operation Mountain Twilight v 1.1

    by baltika

    Revision Date: 23 November 2008

    *****************************************************************

    This is an update of my original OMT campaign to work with Wrench's 4 seasons re-release of Majorlee's American North West Terrain. This has exactly the same planeset and installation requirements as the original campaign, so please see the v1.0 readme for all the aircraft and groundobjects you will require to install.

    Obviously, you should use Wrench's updated ANW terrain build, not any previous ANW release. Here's the link:

    http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=7615

    Thanks to MajorLee for the original terrain, Wrench for his upgrades, and Deuces, Doghouse and Brain32 for the additional tilesets. If I have missed anyone out, please let me know and I will add them in.

    *************************************************************

    What's new:

    1. I have added 25+ new target areas to Wrench's original Target List. There are a number of new target areas based on Wrench's existing ones, but all of Wrench's updated targets are in there, so you do not lose anything from the updated terrain. I have also included Doghouse's SAM sites mod, with his permission, so thanks for that, Doghouse. You will find that flying down those canyons becomes a necessity, not a joyride, once the SAM sites go online!

    2. I have substantially re-worked the strategic nodes based on the new Target List.

    3. Due to changes introduced by the Oct 08 patches, I have had to split the campaign files into separate campaigns for Red and Blue side flyable. If you want to fly the campaign for the Global Sedition, select "OMT: Red" from the campaign selection menu. I have reduced the GS ground unit strength in the Red-Side campaign to make it less of a cakewalk for GS pilots. Blue Side campaign is still a tough nut to crack ;-)

    4. There are a number of alternative Win/Lose screens included in the d/l pack. These used to be called out for individual squadrons, but that seems not to work under Oct 08 patch. So, the default Win/Lose screen is called out from the main campaign_DATA.ini file. You can change the settings to select alternative Win/Lose screens if you wish, just edit the name of the screenshot called out.

    5. I have also included ext's RCAF Vampire skin, as I can't track down the d/l link. Thanks to ext for the nice skin, cheers mate ;-)

    *************************************************************

    INSTALLATION:

    I have packaged the files up so it should be obvious where everything has to go.

    Install the terrain and planeset first.

    Unzip the d/l package to a temporary folder, then copy the unzipped files across. When asked to over-write, say yes.

    You must use the included AmericaNW_targets.ini, AmericaNW_Movement.ini and AmericaNW_types.ini, or the campaign will not work properly.

    You will have to copy the content of the "Add to SquadronList" folder to your existing SQUADRONLIST.INI, renumbering as the next in sequence.

    There should be no problem with dropping the new campaign files into an existing OMT campaign install, just over-write when prompted.

    *************************************************************

    HEALTH WARNING

    As ever, back up any modded files before you overwrite them - it's easier to restore your originals that way ;-)

    Most of the required planes are older mods, which may or may not work properly in the latest round of patches. Try flying in normal mode if you are having serious trouble with a particular plane. I haven't yet experienced any huge issues, but your mileage may vary.

    Any problems, questions, comments, etc, drop me a line at combatace.

    Happy Hunting to one and all,

    Baltika

  23. Iran Iraq War Quick Update

    This updates the Iran Iraq campaign for SF1 to the latest patches: SP051506a and P083006. Both patches can be found at the Thirdwire site www.thirdwire.com

    simply place into your fully patched and installed Iran Iraq folder.

    If you do not have the Iran Iraq War all inclusive mod installed:

    1. You must have a seperate SF1 installation for this campaign.

    2. Make sure you patch the SF1 install to the latest released patches mentioned above.

    3. Then install the all inclusive Iran Iraq campaign (102 MB file) found at www.combatace.com ( follow installation instructions carefully including the seperate F-14a(IAF) and MIg-25PD install)

    4. Install the latest weapons pack.

    5. Then install this quick update.

    Enjoy!

    MK2

    I include the original Iran Iraq War read me file below:

    This campaign is based on the Iran Iraq war that lasted from 1980-1988. It includes New terrain,, Persian music, photos, new screens, new sound files, new planes, new skins, and campaign files, heavily researched air units for Iran Iraq, historical air bases and locations.

    This needs to be a separate install.

    STEP 1
    Please make sure your sf1 game installation follows this path (or the medals will not work): C:\IranIraq\Strike Fighters\Flight etc.

    OR

    You may go into the MedalsIRAQ.ini AND MedalIran.ini files (located in the "flight" folder of this zip) and change the path if you so desire (AS AN Example ADDING d:\ drive instead of C:\ ).

    STEP 2
    Please install the contents of the folders to their respective locations (not the folders themselves but what is located inside).

    STEP 3
    You must have the following additional planes(and weapons pack) installed.

    Mig-25PD
    F-14a(iaf)
    Latest Weapons pack (can be found at www.combatace.com)

    There is also an optional skin pack that adds even more skins to the Iraqi side created by Phamtuan called : Phamtuan_Skinpack_Iraq that can be used to enhance the game. it may be found at wwww.combatace.com

    Step 4

    Go to the terrain folder in your SF1 directory. Locate the desert folder. Locate the Desert cat file. Copy file over into the IR folder located in the terrain folder (if you followed the instructions outlined above). Rename the Desert cat file in your IR folder from : Desert to : IR

    IMPORTANT NOTES*****

    #1 There is a known issue while flying from some of the bases that will occur when there is a heavily overcast day with low cloud cover. You will not see the runway due to the clouds, your plane will be positioned above them on the runway. You may take off as normal and it does not affect game play. This is a visual glitch probably due to the terrain elevations and it is relatively rare.

    #2
    In order to properly simulate a protracted ground war (after all this war ended in a stalemate after 8 years!)
    we have frozen the ground offensives and they will not start for approximately 9 months of game time. If you play the entire campaign through, it will start before the campaign ends. This method is probably more historical.
    If you would like to change this setting, it is very easy to do. You need to open the IranIraq_data.ini file and find the following file:

    StartGroundOffensive=270

    For both Force 1 (Iran) and Force 2 (Iraq) you may then change the value.

    Be warned that changing these settings may result in strange results (the war ending after several months as an example).

  24. Vietnam 1984 Quick Update

    This updates the Vietnam 1984 campaign for WOV to the latest patches: SP051506a and P083006. Both patches can be found at the Thirdwire site www.thirdwire.com

    simply place in your Vietnam 1984 installation.

    1. You must have a seperate WOV installation for this campaign.

    2. Make sure you patch the WOV install to the latest released patches mentioned above.

    3. Then install the all inclusive Vietnam 1984 campaign (215MB file) found at www.combatace.com

    4. Install the latest weapons pack.

    5. Then install this quick update.
    Enjoy!

    MK2

    I include the original Vietnam 1984 description below:

    Vietnam 1984:
    The Vietnam War ended in a stalemate a decade ago. North Vietnam has taken the opportunity, of the prolonged cease fire, to build up its ground and air forces.
    The Soviet Union has recently taken an active role in mobilizing fighter regiments for the VPAF and the potential of the Soviet union adding actual ground troops to the area is now a reality.
    The uneasy temporary peace comes to an end. The Reagan administration Withdraws the United States from the decade long diplomatic process. On December 18th 1984 the coalition starts a 2 week air offensive against North Vietnamese targets.

    To install the mod simply place the folders that are inside the zip file in your WOV directory and say yes to overwrite the files.

    INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Install SFP1/WoV/WoE

    (For WoV & WoE follow Wrench's instructions to create an era-specific install - see KB at combatace)

    2. Patch up to v 083006

    3. Delete all stock aircraft

    4. Install the DAT aircraft listed above

    5. Install Wrench's WW2 wep pak.

    6. Install Gepard's BoB terrain v1.4. For detailed instructions on how to do this, see the readme file for the terrain.

    7. Copy the Battle of Britain campaign mod files to the relevant folder of your new install. The simplest thing is to retain the file structure and copy the unpacked files over. Items in the Campaigns, Flight, Menu, Missions, Objects and Objects/Aircraft, PilotData, Sounds and Terrain folders go into those same folders in your new install. The options.ini file goes into your main Strike Fighters folder. When asked to overwrite existing files, say "Yes" each time. YOU DID BACK UP THOSE FILES LISTED ABOVE, DIDN'T YOU?

    8. Copy the file Hurricane-R10D.LOD from the Hurricane1 folder into the Hurricane2A folder.

    9. Copy all the Spitfire .LOD files from the Spitfire1A folder into the Spitfire2A folder.

    10. That's it. Battle of Britain should now be available at the campaign menu. Happy hunting!

    ********************************************************************************************

    KNOWN ISSUES:-

    1. Finally sorted out the "random movement of air units" bug. That was the main problem which meant this campaign was a beta release. You should now see a lot more air activity on both sides.

    2. Victory conditions.
    "Winning" a campaign depends on your Force capturing the enemy Base node. So the best the RAF can hope for is a lose or a stall. No invasion of Fortress Europe in 1940! As for the Luftwaffe, well. . .

    3. The RAF fly a lot of intercept missions, and they're hard. Good luck! Use high energy boom and zoom attacks, or frontal attacks for best results. Try to keep your wingies alive. Remember this is a war of attrition, so kills matter. Ignore Bitchin' Betty when she tells you to RTB, mission failed. Finish off those bombers!

    As an extra hint, the campaign engine does not fix intercept waypoints very efficiently. If you rely on them, you will not intercept bomber formations until they are on top of their target - by which time it's too late. Use planning map to move your waypoints to show the most direct route between waypoint 2 and your objective point. Then use Red Crown to give you the best vector to your target. Intercept those bombers while they are still out there!

    4. In order to make the phased campaign work properly, I have brought forward the front-line operational dates of certain squadrons (303, 310, 603 and 1 RCAF) to the start of July 1940. This is clearly non-historical. However, having later start dates meant that the timings of the phased campaign were thrown out of kilter, so I chose this as the lesser of two evils.

    Credits:-

    Thanks to Gepard, the A-team, RussoUK2004, Kesselbrut, allenjb42, Pasko, Bunyap, Charles, Kout, Cellinsky, swayne64, pcpilot, CA_Stary, B Bandy RFC, George (Geo) and, of course TK and Thirdwire.

    Let me also express my grateful thanks to those Devs and modders listed above who have granted permission to allow their work to be included in this package. That makes installation a whole lot easier! And, of course, without their work, this campaign would, quite simply, not exist. Thanks to all!

    If I have missed anyone out please let me know and I will add your name, with my apologies.

    Orders of Battle and Unit strengths are taken from the appendices to "The Most Dangerous Enemy - A History of the Battle of Britain" by Stephen Bungay, ISBN 1-85410-801-8. Thoroughly recommended for those with an interest in the Battle of Britain.

    Legal Notice:-

    You are not permitted to re-distribute any of the 3rd-party files included in this package without the prior written consent of the owner of the file concerned.

    Modding of the campaign files written by baltika for the free use of the community is, however, actively encouraged. Share your results. But if anyone is planning a payware BOB conversion, don't you dare use any of the campaign files in this mod for your bloodsucking financial gain, unless you make me a decent offer first ;-)
