  1. Royal New Zealand Navy Fleet Air Arm Skyhawks and HMNZS New Zealand Aircraft Carrier.

Fictional Royal New Zealand Navy Fleet Air Arm Skyhawks and HMNZS New Zealand Aircraft Carrier.

This is a purely fictional 'what if?' the New Zealand Government decided when they purchased the A-4K Skyhawks in the early 70's that a Carrier based strike force was required to maintain New Zealand’s security in the Pacific.

To meet those requirements the number of Skyhawks ordered was doubled and carrier capability retained during construction. An old US Navy Essex Class Carrier slated for de-commission was purchased by the New Zealanad government and given a complete refit and refurbishment prior to delivery along with the Skyhawks in 1970. Attack the Carrier as an enemy to see what the refit involved ;)

Number 6 Squadron is a joint RNZAF/ NZ Navy squadron that uses embarked RNZAF personal to maintain the Skyhawks however all aircrew are members of the Royal New Zealand Navy. As is done in real life with the New Zealand Navy’s Helicopter fleet.

    Includes:

    - Royal New Zealand Navy Skin and edits for the Third Wire DLC A-4K Skyhawk.

    - Post project Kahu updated Naval version of the A-4K 'Kahu' Skyhawk.

    - HMNZS New Zealand Aircraft Carrier which is an ex US Navy Essex Class Carrier which was delivered to the New Zealand Navy in 1970 after being refitted and refurbished.

    Instillation:

NOTE: You WILL need the Third Wire DLC A-4G & A-4K Skyhawks as well as SF2 North Atlantic. This only been tested on an install with all Strike Fighter 2 titles updated to the latest patch.

1, Simply unpack the files and copy them into your mods folder.

  2. CF-110M Phantom II - Royal Canadian Air Force

The CF-110M Phantom II for the Royal Canadian Air Force.

There are three versions of the F-4M in this mod.
TK's F-4M: ADC Grey, SEA, RAF Green/Grey, Olive Drab.
TK's F-4M (75): ADC Grey, SEA wrap around, RAF Green/Grey wrap around, Olive Drab, Euro 1.
TK's F-4M (80): ADC Grey, SEA wrap around, RAF Green/Grey wrap around, Olive Drab, Euro 1.

    The following squadrons are provided:
    409 Squadron
    410 Squadron
    416 Squadron
    425e Escadre

Modified F-4D loadouts are used. It is impossible to use the Sidewinder rails and the inboard pylons simultaneously. This is a built-in limitation of the F-4K and F-4M.

    Back Story

The idea for this aircraft comes from my alternate history site. It was first operated by this alternate Royal Canadian Air Force in 1969 (in this timeline, there was no unification in the Canadian Armed Forces)
The RCAF originally did not want the Phantom, being content to stick with the Thunderchief and the Voodoo until the TFX (CF-111C) and FX (CF-15) were ready during the 1970s.
Canadian participation in the Vietnam War changed that. Canada committed Voodoos to defend the social democratic North Vietnam from Nazi German forces operating from the South and from Burma. The CF-101's inability to dogfight, and unreliability in the harsh tropical conditions of North Vietnam made early replacement necessary. The only aircraft available was the CF-4K, being introduced to the RCN as its strike fighter. McDonnell and Avro Canada devised a land-based version with minimal changes. This entered service in 1969 and quickly went to Vietnam. After the war ended in 1975, the Phantom replaced the Voodoo entirely in the RCAF.

The wikia article for the aircraft itself is found here:

  3. CAF Condor F.1

Panavia Condor F.1 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 On July 25th 1968 a memorandum of understanding was signed by Belgium, Canada, Italy, the Netherlands, the UK and West Germany expressing their interest and intent on producing a multi-role combat aircraft (MRCA) with a tentative in-service date of 1975. Belgium dropped out very early and before the end of the year Canada had also pulled out with Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau claiming that they simply could not afford it but this was, perhaps, a convenient excuse to hide behind whilst Trudeau's liberal goverment re-shaped the entire Canadian armed forces. For a short while the remaining four nations ploughed on but the Dutch became increasingly concerned as their prime mission was for an air superiority fighter and even though they had cranked in severe requirements for long radius of action and maximum performance in air combat at all altitudes they then complained when the resultant design became larger and therefore more expensive. Once the Dutch had left the MRCA project the remaining three nations formed a Joint Working Group firming up on requirements, removing excessive demands and establishing a technically viable baseline solution to their MRCA requirement. Fashionably, this baseline solution was a swing-wing design with afterburing turbofan engines. With all three Governments on board the project was to be delivered by a co-ordinating organisation called NAMMO (NATO MRCA Management Organisation) employing three newly created international contractor companies; Panavia Aircraft GmbH (airframe), Turbo-Union Ltd (engines) and Avionica Systems Engineering GmbH (avionics) that would combine to produce the Panavia Tornado. Whilst the RAF were fully behind the swing-wing MRCA design for their all-weather interdiction and strike requirements they expressed deep concern over it's suitability to meet their RAF Air Staff Requirement 395 which called for a long-range interceptor to replace the Lightning and Phantom. Influenced by U.S. studies on future air superiority fighter aircraft, and especially by John Boyd's energy–maneuverability theory, the RAF demanded an aircraft with extra power and maneuverability compared to the proposed Tornado ADV. Whilst they conceded that the Tornado ADV might be acceptable as a long-range interceptor it would be totally outclassed as a 'central front' fighter by the expected threats of the next generation of Soviet fighter aircraft (in particular, and before it's limitations became known, the MiG-25 was especially feared). When the UK Government argued that another combat aircraft could not be considered on cost grounds the RAF reminded them that the proposed Tornado ADV was already morphing into a different aircraft with a longer forward fuselage to accommodate semi-recessed Sparrow/Skyflash missiles, more powerful engines to address the low power to weight ratio and a totally different avionics package. Panavia were already ahead of the curve with several design studies on various advanced air superiority fighter aircraft with the most promising being 'Projekt Condor' from the Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm (MBB) design team at Ottobrun for a single-seat air superiority fighter powered by a single large afterburning turbofan engine (the RB.250 - itself a paper project by Turbo-Union but based on a scaled-up Rolls-Royce Spey turbofan). Preliminary technical studies demonstrated that Specific Excess Power and manoueverability were off the chart when compared to all current fighter aircraft and a parallel study on the market for such an aircraft in the 1975 to 1990 period revealed a potential market for 600 aircraft in Western Europe and the Middle East alone. Unexpected support for Projekt Condor came from the Italian Government who sought a follow-on fighter aircraft to replace the Aeritalia F-104S on the Turin production line. In the UK, with unemployment at its highest level since 1940, the incoming Conservative Government led by Edward Heath supported the project as one of a raft measures to boost the UK economy. By 1971 all three Governments (Italy, the UK and West Germany) were in agreement and the Panavia Condor programme was allowed to proceed with an initial order for 10 Condor prototype and development aircraft and 465 production aircraft (West Germany 200, UK 165 and Italy 100) to be assembled on final production lines in each country but with workload shared out with the United Kingdom and West Germany each having a 40% share of the workload with the remaining 20% going to Italy. With inflation running rampant in Western Europe the Condor programme was under the strictest financial scrutiny during the early 1970's but luckily escaped the axe on at least two occassions. Despite the Condor programme being a political football (and seemingly a permanent fixture in the news headlines) development moved swiftly aided by the existing collaborative structures within Panavia recently created for the Tornado programme. With a new airframe and a new engine Panavia were keen to avoid also introducing a completely new avionics package so sensibly opted for an off-the-shelf purchase of the Hughes APG-63 multimode radar system but designed to incorporate a software programmable signal processor allowing the system to be modified to accommodate new modes and weapons through software reprogramming rather than by a more costly and disruptive hardware retrofit. The first prototype (PC-01) was structurally complete by early April 1974 and was trucked from Ottobrun to the Hannover Air Show where it was displayed in the static park attracting considerable interest from Saudi Arabian and Omani officials. DA-01 was then taken to Manching to be mated with the Turbo-Union RB.250 engine for ground-testing and taxying trials that continued during the summer months before MBB's chief test pilot, Nils Meister, took to the air on August 15th 1974. A few short weeks later he dazzled the crowds at the 1974 Farnborough Air Show demonstrating the Condor's remarkable manoueverability. The fleet of development aircraft began to build up during 1975 with the only real mishap occuring when DA-06 (whose main task was armament development) was mysteriously lost over the Irish Sea. Entering service with No.23 Squadron of the Royal Air Force on April 1st, 1978 the Condor F.1 eventually served with seven squadrons in the UK and another two in RAF Germany. Primary armament was the Skyflash semi-active radar homing air-to-air missile and the AIM-9L 'all-aspect' version of the Sidewinder infra-red air-to-air missile. In addition, the Condor was fitted with two internal Mauser BK-27 cannon (developed for the Panavia Tornado) each with 250 rounds. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the CondorF1 folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the CondorF1 folder into your Decals folder. 3. From the GUNS folder drag and drop the BK-27 folder into your Guns folder (you might already have this). 4. AVIA-CS-199 JANBIYAH

    AVIA-CS-199 "JANBIYAH"

    HISTORY

When the Parani Ministry of Defence Purchased Avia-S-199 aircraft for the Air force, they also purchased a Squadron of CS-199's to act as a recce/cas aircraft. This was seen as ideal as it was a 2 seater, dual control aircraft, and was also then useful as a trainer for aircrews converting to the "SAIF" Number 2 Squadron was equipped with this aircraft, which was also reverse engineered to replace the nose mounted guns, as the underwing mounts for the original gunpods were needed to fit bomb racks, and it was felt that the pilots needed guns for strafing attacks , and also in the trainer role, for A-A and A-G training, even though there was a recorded issue with the synchronisation gear for these guns ( The Israeli's had a few incidents of shooting off their own props.....never a good idea !! ) As with the S-199 "SAIF" the JANBIYAH or Dagger, was only intended as a stop gap until the arrival of the expected Migs. however as a primary trainer, the aircraft is still in service, ( even though frontline service terminated in 1975) but the airframes are getting rather tired now, and new replacements are being sort after.

  8. Yak-3RD Mixed Propulsion Fighter by Pasko

Yakovlev Yak-3RD "What If..." Mixed-Propulsion Fighter by Pakso
    = For SF2, Any & All versions (Full-4 Merged Prefered*) =

*Note: Full-4 merged prefered tag is because some decals used are referenced from SF2:I*

Modifications, tweeks, FM enhancements, and so forth to Pakso's Prop/Rocket fighter.
This makes the assumption (oh! that word!) the 3RD was put into serial production, instead of the just the 2 prototypes that were historically built. As was the original release, it is "As Is" with all the flaws and warts and etc. See the "Notes" section for more details.
This package replaces the one I uploaded some long time back at CombatAce.

As expected, the canopy opens/closes via manual animation keystroke -the (in)famous Shift/0.
No weapons or guns are supplied with this pak; they are the same ones included in the Yak-9U pak recently released, and should be available in Gunny's Weapons Pak.

It also should be noted, the Mission Profiles that can be flown have been limited to A-A: CAP, Intercept (due to expected range limitations), and Recon just for fun (with drop tanks).

All new skins, from new Home-Grown Templates ™ in 1024x are supplied. One is Natural Metal, and other is overall Medium Gray. See the "Notes" section regarding the 2-tone Gray camo supplied, but not activated (severe LOD mapping issues)

As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read for further information and stuff like that there. For historical purposes, Pasko's original readme is included.
This will give a (relatively) decent "What If..." for WW2 and the Post-War period; the Beginning of the Cold War, hence it location in the "What If Hangar".

  9. YAK-23 "QATRAS"

    YAK-23 "QATRAS"

    HISTORY

As the Navy had been using its YAK-9 NUHAS with much success it was deemed after operational evaluation that seiing as the Army was being equipped with JJ-2 ( Mig-15Bis) that the Navy needed a jet powered interceptor/point defence fighter, after evaluating the YAK-15, it was thought that the upgraded YAK-23 FLORA would be more suitable, with its tricycle undercarriage and slight upgrades to other systems, the aircraft was purchased through the Czech military mission based in Paran, as diplomatic ties with the USSR had broken down as mentioned in another description ( stay with the programme folks, download 'em all !! ) this aircraft was introduced into the First Marine Squadron , and was given the name QUATRAS, or Albatross. the aircraft was found to be ideal for the navy's needs as it introduced pilots to jet powered aircraft, and also secret experimentation with carrier landing and take off drills at a secret location deep in the desert , with a full mock up carrier deck. The aircraft was also much loved by its pilots, and was found to be very manoeuvrable and a good gun platform.

    Installation and blah blah

I have included ( I hope) everything needed in one package, ie. the aircraft decals, weapons, pilots, and sounds. I have also included a SQADRONLIST.INI, and a NATIONS.INI to allow these birds to show up as a nation and with the correct markings. I have dropped all the respective files into their correct folders so, all you will need to do is unRAR/ZIP/7Z to your saved game folder, and allow overwrites ( if any) I have tested this on a full merged all bells and whistles SF2 so I assume it will work on unmerged too.as I said everything is there to get her up and running, just drop it all as is into your saved game folder and off you fly.

    CREDITS !!!
Credit for the original model and workings to whomsoever was involved in the original aircraft. I am sure I have thanked them and credited them in other uploads as well, so thanks to the REAL modders out there who do the hard work, and make stuff I can then tinker around with and tweak , I hope you like it, please enjoy. As with all my uploads, everything you need is in the one package, unzip, install, and fly, and enjoy !!

  10. [Fictional] McDonnell Douglas Phantom F-4L (USMC)

McDonnell Douglas F-4L (USMC/USN) Phantom for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
This is a simple mod of the stock Third Wire F-4M_75 to give a fictional USMC Phantom F-4L with markings for VMFA-333 'Shamrocks'. Also included is a USN VF-111 scheme that generally uses stock decals but is included here to give a blank F-4L tail for you to do other squadrons by using stock decals. It goes without saying that you will need to have the F-4M_75 from SF2:Europe.

    BACKSTORY
With all the considerable design effort being put into the marriage of the Phantom airframe and the Rolls-Royce Spey turbofan engine McDonnell Douglas thought it might be a good idea to propose a version to the US Navy to allow the Phantom to operate from the smaller carriers that were limited to F-8E Crusaders. In June 1966 the designation F-4L was given to the proposed Spey-powered Phantom and in October 1966 an initial order for 130 F-4L's (USN/USMC) was made, followed by an unexpected export order of 30 F-4L's for the Royal Australian Navy.
Deliveries to the US Navy commenced in February 1969 with VF-24 becoming the first operational squadron followed by VMFA-333. By this time the wisdom of operating such a relatively large aircraft on the older, smaller carriers was being questioned and most F-4L's served aboard the larger carriers or with land-based units.
When the decision was made not to re-equip the USMC 'fighter-attack' Phantom squadrons with the hugely expensive Grumman F-14A Tomcat, McDonnell Douglas pushed hard for low-rate production of the F-4L to continue specifically for USMC use and they were eventually successful meaning that production continued until 1976 with an eventual total of 306 F-4L's being built. Apart from Australia, F-4L's also served with the Royal Air Force where 15 ex-USN F-4L's were sold to the UK Government to allow the formation of an additional home-based Phantom squadron to release a squadron for the defence of the Falkand Isles.

    INSTRUCTIONS
    1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the F-4L_75 folder into your Aircraft folder.
    2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the F-4L_75 folder into your Decals folder.
    That's it!

  11. SF2 Polish Air Force JAS-39E/F Gripen NG

In 2014, the Polish MoD decided to replace the fleet of Polish Air Force's ageing MiG-29s, which were becoming more and more obsolete and not suitable with the requirements of modern combat. The new promising Swedish design of an upgraded JAS-39 was chosen and the deliveries began in 2018 with 64 aircraft purcahsed in total, both one- and two-seaters.
That's the little background story. The mod itself includes the E and F versions of the aircraft. It is generally based on USAF Gripen NG mod by @dtmdragon which you can find here https://combatace.com/files/file/16048-f-39ab-griffin-blk-15-gripen-ng-for-the-us/?tab=comments
    The pack includes:
    JAS-39E
22 Baza Lotnictwa Taktycznego (Tactical Air Base) skin with the "Knight flagship" paintscheme (aircraft no. 6036) 23 Baza Lotnictwa Taktycznego skin with the "Kosciuszko flagship" paintscheme (aircraft no. 6020) 23 Baza Lotnictwa Taktycznego special NATO Tiger Meet paintscheme JAS-39F
22 Baza Lotnictwa Taktycznego paintscheme 23 Baza Lotnictwa Taktycznego paintscheme
All respective credits go to the creators of the original Gripen model, you will find the list here, many thanks to them: https://combatace.com/files/file/14351-tsf-saab-jas-39-gripen-flygvapnet-package/
Important note: the aircraft in this pack DO NOT use 100% accurate Gripen NG models but rather modified JAS-39C/D. I am not a 3D modder and I couldn't make one myself.
To install, unpack the zip archive and paste the contents of "to mod folder" folder into your game's mod folder. Read the Knowledge Base for more instructions. The mod was created and tested with the full 5 install of SF2 with the latest patch.
You can use and distribute the contents of this mod ONLY as freeware. Remember to give credits to the authors.

  12. [Fictional] SAAB JAS39H Grypas (Griffon)

This is a mod of the JAS-39C from the Gripen Team to make it look like a fighterplane from the greek hellenic air force.

    BACKGROUND:
According to EESP (European Economic Stability Protocol) signed in the middle of 2012 in Brussels by the 27 partners of the EU, the countries with a high rate of debt (Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal etc.) had to execute all measures necessary in order to reduce their debts. In article 12 "About the defense of the homeland", the countries of the EU constituted that all redundant units had to be dissolved and the equipment to be sold.

Furthermore, the armies of the affected countries had to change their "non-european" equipment for european equipment. Greece had therefore to sell their US fighterplanes and replace them by european ones. In exchange, the equipment will be cheaper than for standard customers from outside the EU.

The F-16s got sold to Israel and Turkey. The mayor manufacturers of fighters in Europe were Dassault, Saab and the Eurofighter Corporation. The hellenic air force decided to order the Typhoon for two of their Squadrons and the Gripen for another three squadrons. For the remaining squadrons, the ministry of defense had not declared a decision if either buy more Mirage 2000 or get some Rafales.

The first Gripens arrived at the end of 2012 and did directly enter service in the 330th, 341st and 347th Moira. All planes display the new SGD-Camo (Spartan Ghost Digital)

    INSTALLATION:

  13. SF2 WW2 PTO "What If" Ki-201 Karyu 'Fire Dragon'

SF2 WW2 PTO "What If" Ki-201 Karyu 'Fire Dragon' 10/25/2014

    = For SF2 (Full 5 Merged RECCOMENDED!)

*This mod will =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs at any patch level. It was built for SF2 ONLY!!.*

This is a re-issue of my WW2 "What If..." Ki-201 Karyu IJAAF jet interceptor. This mods uses Veltro2k's Me-262 as the base, and is designed to COMPLETLY replace the (now unavailable) version I'd built many eons ago for SF 1stGens. If you still have that original in your WW2 PTO-1946 style mods folder, you should delete both the aircraft and decals folders. THIS version =will= replace it totally.

There is just one skin, "representing" the (fictional) 100th Independant Air Company, and it's 3 attendant Chutai (squadrons). Each Chutai is designated by the color of the 'plane in group' numbers. See "Notes" for further enlightenment.
The skin is in jpg format, and the damage textures are DDS. All markings are decals, and decal randomization is set to TRUE.
All items needed (guns, drop tanks, rockets and their mounting rack, NEW pilot figure) are included. EXCEPT the "usual suspects" Japanese bombs and such. The original 1stGen hangar screen has been converted for SF2, and fits that styling.

When in game, you'll see on the aircraft selection drop down...

    Ki-201 "Fritz" (v2k)

As the other is no longer available, this is just a 'saftey net' so there should be no conflicts. I've given it the Allied code name "Fritz", as a knod to its German origins.

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!! Also, please give the "Notes" section a read as well

    Good Hunting!!

(this is a mod that I'd sort of forgotten about, what with being busy building Real Life ™ things! Enjoy!)

  14. [Fictional] Mirage 2000E (C.27) "Espada" (Sword)

A Mod of the Mirage 2000-5F from The Mirage Factory to make it look like a fictional fighter for the spanish air force.

    BACKGROUND
According to EESP (European Economic Stability Protocol) signed in the middle of 2012 in Brussels by the 27 partners of the EU, the countries with a high rate of debt (Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal etc.) had to execute all measures necessary in order to reduce their debts. In article 12 "About the defense of the homeland", the countries of the EU constituted that all redundant units had to be dissolved and the equipment to be sold.

Furthermore, the armies of the affected countries had to change their "non-european" equipment for european equipment. Spain had therefore to sell their US fighterplanes and replace them by european ones. In exchange, the equipment will be cheaper than for standard customers from outside the EU.

The F-18Cs got sold back to the US. The mayor manufacturers of fighters in Europe were Dassault, Saab and the Eurofighter Corporation. The spanish air force decided to order the Mirage 2000 for the Ala 46, stationed on the Canary Islands. Two wings were equipped with the Mirage 2000-5F, renamed E (local designation: C-27) and one wing received the Mirage 2000B, renamed BE (local designation: CB-27)

  15. [Fictional] RAN, RCN, RAAF, RCAF F-4K/M Phantom update pack

    Contents

This contains the following changes and additions:
Capability to mount rail-launched AIM-7 Sparrow missiles on the inboard wing pylons. The F-4K 80 and F-4M 80 have their missiles mounted further forward to clear the chaff and flare dispensers.
Grouping of the inboard pylon and Sidewinder rails together. This makes the loading screen neater, and preserves the inability to use the Sidewinder rails and inboard pylon simultaneously.
Rail launched versions of the AIM-7 Sparrow (AIM-7E to AIM-7P are covered).
An EMI Reconnaissance Pod adapted for the USAF and USN attachment types. This pod is carried on the centreline pylon. It will show up in the loadout under the name "F-4K/M Reconnaissance Pod"
Auscam skins for the RAAF F-4M '75 and F-4M '80. This skin is a recolouring of the SEA wraparound skin using standard Australian vehicle camouflage colours(As seen on this M1A1 Abrams: http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k198/Phil_H_au/misc/abrams_camo_2.jpg ). For the F-4M 75, full colour decals are used, the F-4M 80 uses black decals for lower visibility.
Renaming of the skins in TextureSet.ini for consistency.
Fixed tail skin for the camouflaged RAN F-4K. The upper part of the tailplane now contains the correct unpainted portion.
    Various other skin fixes.
Recoloured decals for the "LateGrey" RAAF F-4M 80. The new decals are significantly lightened for lower visibility.
Removed "USN" from AttachmentType for the Sidewinder rails for RAAF and RCAF aircraft, and substituted USAF.

    Installation

Copy the contents of the "Objects" folder into the "Objects" folder in your mod folder. Merge all folders when prompted. Overwrite all files when prompted.

  16. [Fictional] BAC Lightning F.54 - Marineflieger

BAC Lightning F.54 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 (EP2)
This is a very simple mod of the stock Third Wire BAC Lightning F.53 to give a fictional Lightning F.54 in service with the Marineflieger (the naval air arm of the Bundesmarine or West German Navy) with markings for Marineflieger MFG 1 and Marineflieger MFG 2.
You will need Expansion Pack 2.

    BACKSTORY
The first rumours of an alleged bribery scandal surrounding the purchase of the Lockheed F-104G Starfighter by the West German Government coincided with the ferociously high attrition rate of the Starfighter in Luftwaffe and Marineflieger service. With the end of Lightning production on the near horizon BAC submitted a brochure to the Bonn Government and Marineflieger Officials for a proposed multi-role Lightning based on the F.53 and this proposal was accepted leading to a modest production order for 60 Lightning F.54's which entered service
in late 1968 with MFG1 and MFG2 before being retired in 1987.

    INSTRUCTIONS
    1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the LightningF54 folder into your main Aircraft folder.
    2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the LightningF54 folder into your main Decals folder.
    3. From the WEAPONS folder drag and drop the AS-30 folder into your main Weapons folder.

  19. [Fictional] SAAB/IAI JAS39I Kherev (Sword)

This is a mod of the JAS-39C from the Gripen Team to make it look like fighterplane for the israeli air force.

    BACKGROUND:
Israel, although not being part of the european community (not even being on the european continent) was almost always treated like being an european country. After the EESP-signment, Israel offered Italy and Greece to replace their Vipers with Barak- and Sufa-Versions from IAI. In exchange and tying in with the cooperation concerning the Chez (israeli Draken), the IDF wanted the Gripen as a replacement for their aged Ahit.

The EU was ok with that treaty and allowed Italy to exchange their planes. Greece refused and decided in favor of the Gripen and the EF-2000 Typhoon. At the end of 2012, Israeli received their ordered planes and named them 'Kherev' (Sword). From the 72 ordered planes, 16 were two-seaters.

The Kherev was the first plane in the IDF to receive a digital camo.

  21. Blackburn Buccaneer S.22 - RAN

This is the Blackburn Buccaneer for the Royal Australian Navy. This package consists of complete aircraft.
    Historical Background
The military buildup in China and Indonesia in the early 1960s led the RAN to renew the airwing of its 2 Audacious class aircraft carriers, HMAS Sydney and HMAS Melbourne. At the beginning of the decade, these British aircraft carriers fielded an airwing of F3D Skyknight all weather fighters, FJ-3 Fury day fighters, and Westland Wyvern attack aircraft. All were considered incapable of coping with the fighters and air defences projected to be introduced by Indonesia and China in the ensuing years.
To respond to this situation, the RAN formulated requirements for an all-weather supersonic fighter, and a carrier-capable strike aircraft which could deploy a "special munition" after penetrating enemy defences. For this latter requirement, only two aircraft were viable, the Grumman A2F, and the Blackburn NA39. The Navy had concerns about the A2F's complex DIANE system, but overall favoured the US offering. The government, on the other hand, saw the Buccaneer requiring less of Australia's dollar reserves, and an order for a British aircraft could provide the British government a greater incentive to engage in nuclear cooperation with Australia. Since the naval fighter requirement was likely to be fulfilled by the McDonnell F-4 Phantom, using a British strike aircraft would keep the two big allies in balance. Therefore, the Government ordered 38 Buccaneer S.22s. The S.22 was basically the same as a British Buccaneer S.2.
The RAN's first Buccaneers were hoisted into HMAS Melbourne for delivery as deck cargo in 1965. Deliveries were completed in 1966. By the end of 1967, HMAS Melbourne was ready to sail with 854 Squadron fully equipped with Buccaneers. The RAN's Buccaneers did not participate in the Vietnam War, though some of their pilots and observers did fly 2 Squadron's Buccaneers on exchange to the RAAF. In 1970, the government authorised a "mid-life update" for the Buccaneer. This update was carried out by the Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation, and included upgrades to the Buccaneer's weapons, and defensive systems. In particular, it gained the ability to use guided weapons, and the new Pave Spike pod. Deliveries of upgraded Buccaneers, designated Buccaneer S.22D began in 1972. The Liberal/Country Coalition government intended to use them in Vietnam, as a "political replacement" for the Task Force in Phuoc Tuy province, which was withdrawing. The Labor Government elected at the end of 1972 cancelled this deployment.
The Buccaneers spent the rest of the 1970s and 1980s on deployments, mainly in the Pacific and Indian Oceans. In 1990, the Government decided to retire the carriers, and replace them with two Invincible class carriers. HMAS Melbourne was already in inactive reserve. Some of 854 Squadron's Buccaneers were turned over to the RAAF as attrition replacements and parts hulks. It was the beginning of the end of the Buccaneer - at least it was until the invasion of Kuwait. HMAS Sydney, with 857 Squadron's Buccaneers, was dispatched to the Gulf. Some of 854 Squadron's Buccaneers, formerly attached to HMAS Melbourne, were sent to Bahrain to support the Buccaneers of 2 Squadron, RAAF. The HMAS Sydney's Buccaneers operated beside the US Navy's A-6 Intruders against targets in Iraq and Kuwait.
After a successful tour of duty in the Gulf, the RAN's Buccaneers returned home. HMAS Melbourne was fully decommissioned in 1992, and HMAS Sydney in 1993. The RAN continued to fly a small number of Buccaneers out of HMAS Albatross in Nowra, New South Wales for fleet support. The RAN's final operational Buccaneer flight took place in 1995. After that, 2 Buccaneers were retained in airworthy for the RAN Historical Flight, a number were turned over the RAAF, and the remainder were offered for private sale, or to Museums - including one at the Fleet Air Arm Museum in Nowra.
    Package
2 full aircraft, plus bomb racks. The S.22D uses the S.2B 1989 3D model for its Pave Spike station. The S.22D is edited to allow the use of US weapons.

  23. Fictional Romanian F-5E

This is my first mod, so excuse the mistakes!
Works in SF1&SF2 if you have the stock Mirage Factory F-5E installed, skins updated after Paulopanz Austrian skins.
The aircraft is a What if... plane, supposedly the USA agreed to the Romanian request to sell F-5E Tiger II to SRR (Socialist Republic of Romania, the official name then) back in 1974-1975.
At the time relations between Soviet Union and Romania were cold, the soviets were suspecting that SSR might jump in the PRC lap or even worse, defect to the USA sphere of influence.
This ”what if” is based on an official Romanian request made in June 1975, after the exposing of the F-5E in the hands of the soviets due to the fall of South Vietnam.
North Vietnam captured more than 50 such aircraft and 4 or 5 were shipped immediately to Soviet Union, the rest were used by VPAF.
This give the arguments to the Romanian delegation to request the aircraft, motivating that the plane is now no longer a secret to the communist world.
In the real life USA said no ...

  24. LI-2 "HESSAN"

    LI-2 "HESSAN"

    HISTORY

Whilst the I.P.A.F.A. had been equipped with the AN-2 HESSAN, it was felt the requirement for the I.P.A.F. was more important and in need of a larger aircraft. So licence built copies of the C-47 Skytrain were purchased, from the USSR this aircraft the LI-2 CAB was issued to 2 squadrons of the I.P.A.F. Number 6 Squadron being a special ops unit, strangely, the name HESSAN was retained for this aircraft, mening that 2 different aircraft types bore the same name , although the were completely different airframes, it was felt the nomenclature HESSAN, or Horse, was applicable in both case ( In reality I cocked up, and forgot I already named the AN-2 the HESSAN, and I'm too lazy to change the names over !! ) As we all know the C-47 and its derivatives, are a long lived and popular aircraft still in wide use today.

    Installation and blah blah

A repaint of the LI-2 with 2 skins for 5 and 6 Squadron of the I.P.A.F. No special information is needed for this aircraft, as with all my other uploads hopefully I have included all you need. ENJOY !!
