    5. Tu-22K

      Tu-22K
      Version 1.0
      Januar 2009

      Tu-22K Missilecarrier

The Tu-22 was originally intended as a supersonic replacement for the Tupolev Tu-16 bomber. The design, designated Samolët 105 by Tupolev,
was drawn in 1954, but the first flight of the prototype did not take place until 21 June 1958. The availability of more powerful engines,
and the TsAGI discovery of the Area rule for minimizing transonic drag, led to the construction of a revised prototype, the 105A. This first
      flew on 7 September 1959.

The first serial-production Tu-22B bomber, built at Kazan Factory No. 22, flew on 22 September 1960, and the type was presented in the
Tushino Aviation Day parade on 9 July 1961. It initially received the NATO reporting name 'Bullshot,' which was deemed inappropriate,
then 'Beauty,' which was felt to be too complimentary, and finally 'Blinder.' Soviet crews called it "Shilo" (awl) because of its shape.
      Tu-22 Blinder landing

The Tu-22 entered service in 1962 and 1963, but it experienced considerable problems, leading to widespread inserviceability and a number
of crashes. Amongst its many faults was a tendency for skin heating at supersonic speed, distorting the control rods and causing poor
handling. The landing speed was 100 km/h (62 mph) higher than previous bombers and the Tu-22 had a tendency to pitch up and strike its
tail on landing, though this problem was eventually resolved with the addition of electronic stabilization aids. Even after some of its
teething problems had been resolved, the 'Blinder' was never easy to fly, and it was maintenance-intensive.

Pilots for the first Tu-22 squadrons were selected from the ranks of "First Class" Tu-16 pilots, which made transition into the new aircraft
difficult, as the Tu-16 had a co-pilot, and many of the "elite" Tu-16 pilots selected had become accustomed to allowing their co-pilots to
handle all the flight operations of the Tu-16 except for take-off and landings. As a consequence, Tu-16 pilots transitioning to the
single-pilot Tu-22 suddenly found themselves having to perform all the piloting tasks, and in a much more complicated cockpit. Many, if not
most of these pilots were unable to complete their training for this reason. Eventually pilots began to be selected from the ranks of the
Su-17 "Fitter" crews, and these pilots made the transition with less difficulty.

By the time the Tu-22B (Blinder-A) entered service it was already clear that its operational usefulness was limited. Despite its speed,
it was inferior to the Tu-16 in combat radius, weapon load, and serviceability. Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev felt that ballistic
missiles were the way of the future, and bombers like the Tu-22 were in danger of cancellation. As a result, only 15 (some sources say 20)
      Tu-22Bs were built.

A combat-capable reconnaissance version, the Tu-22R ('Blinder-C'), was developed alongside the bomber, entering service in 1962. The Tu-22R
had an aerial refueling probe that was subsequently fitted to most Tu-22s, expanding their radius of operation. 127 Tu-22Rs were built, 62
of which went to the AVMF for maritime reconnaissance use. Some of these aircraft were stripped of their camera and sensor packs and sold
for export as Tu-22Bs, although in other respects they apparently remained more comparable to the Tu-22R than to the early-production
Tu-22Bs. A trainer version of the 'Blinder,' the Tu-22U ('Blinder-D') was fielded at the same time, with a raised cockpit for an instructor
pilot. The Tu-22U had no tail guns, and was not combat-capable. 46 were produced.

To try to salvage some offensive combat role for the Tu-22 in the face of official hostility, the Tu-22 was developed as a missile carrier,
the Tu-22K ('Blinder-B'), with the ability to carry a single Raduga Kh-22 (AS-4 'Kitchen') stand-off missile in a modified weapons bay. The
Tu-22K was deployed both by DA (Strategic Aviation) and AVMF (Naval Aviation).

The last Tu-22 subtype was the Tu-22P ('Blinder-E') electronic warfare version, initially used for ELINT electronic intelligence gathering.
Some were converted to serve as stand-off ECM jammers to support Tu-22K missile carriers. One squadron was usually allocated to each Tu-22
      regiment.

The Tu-22 was upgraded in service with more powerful engines, in-flight refueling (for those aircraft that didn't have it initially), and
better electronics. The -D suffix (for Dalni, long-range) denotes aircraft fitted for aerial refueling.

Tu-22s were exported to Iraq and Libya in the 1970s. An Egyptian request was turned down after the cooling of Soviet-Egyptian relations
in the wake of the Yom Kippur War.

    6. MiG-19PF

      MiG-19PF

      ***************************************************
      I .Credits
      ***************************************************
The basic of my MiG-19PF is the J-6A of Fallout3, which you can find in the Combatace.com downloadsection Modern Era Aircraft/Aircraft of the PLAAF. Fallout3 made a new LOD file, so that an additionally nose section (as in the other MiG-19PF mods) is not longer neccessary. I renamed Fallout3s J-6A.lod file into MiG-19PF.lod and hexedited a little bit.

The cockpit is the great MiG-21PFM cockpit made by MAGO & BADGER the BAD.

My share of this new bird are modified ini files and a new skin.
I made new data.ini on the basic of TK's stock MiG-19S, so the handling of the PF is similar to the S. I also made a new radar by using the datas i have found in the book "Flugzeuge und Hubschrauber der NVA von 1956 bis 1970".

Thanks to all whos files i have used to make this MiG-19PF.

      ***************************************************
      II. MiG-19 genesis
      ***************************************************
MiG-19 and MiG-19S had no radar. It were pure day fighters.
The first MiG-19 with radar was the MiG-19P. It had the same radar (Isumrud1) like the MiG-17PF. In my books i found different descriptions of the armament of this bird. Some sources said it had 3 NR-30 guns, others told me it were only 2 NR-30 and finally i found one source who said it were 3 NR-23. What was correct? I dont know. Because the J-6A-lod file had 3 guns, so i decided to choose 3 NR-30. Maybe it is right, maybe it it wrong. You may change it at free will.
My books told me, that the first PF had the same armament like the P, plus 4 rails for AA-1 Alkali (RS-2US) missiles. Later PFs had no guns. Then the PM came with better radar Isumrud 2 and was built in bigger numbers. The last version PN came only in few numbers to the squadrons, because the first MiG-21 entered the service.
Widely exported were the MiG-19S and MiG-19PM. As far as i know all other MiG-19 versions were only in soviet service.

This plane is a early MiG-19PF with Isumrud1 radar, 3 NR-30 guns and 4 rails for missiles.

    18. Mirage Factory A-7K Corsair II

      Mirage Factory A-7K Corsair II
In 1979, LTV received a contract to convert an A-7D to two-seat TA-7D configuration. The TA-7D was a two seat advanced trainer with dual tandem seating, both crewmen being housed underneath a single canopy, the seat in the rear being raised so that the aircraft had a distinct humpbacked appearance. It was given a longer front and rear fuselage. The two-seater had full operational capability and could carry the same weapons that the single-seater could. The aircraft was later redesignated A-7K.

In addition to the prototype, Vought built 30 new A-7K two seaters. Unlike the Navy's TA-7Cs, the USAF's A-7Ks were new builds and were not conversions of earlier single-seaters. Delivery to ANG units began in 1981, and production of the A-7K ended in September of 1984

    20. Dassault MD-450 Ouragan, Fuerza Aérea Salvadoreña

-Part of an on-going series of mod recreating Central American Airpower

Modifications, and a complete reskin of Pasko's MD-450 Ouragan into those as used by the El Salvadoran Air Force.
This is a COMPLETE aircraft mod, with EVERYTHING needed to just unzip, install a few weapons (if needed) and fly. Included is Ordway's cockpit pak, fully installed.

The skins, from new home-made templates, expanded to 1024 x 1024, have all new panel, rivet and other details. The templates ARE included with this pak!! New decals for the individual aircraft are from historical listings. The numbers.lst, while included, is NOT active, to prevent 'running out of numbers in game'. It's just renamed, so it's easy to reactivate it.

You also get a new WoE style Hangar screen, all the weapons in the new "folder format" for use in post-patch installs, and in EACH weapons folder is a _data.ini as used by SF2. Unfortunately, as I don't have SF2, some experimentation on your part will be required to install and get them up and running. (meaning, I'm not sure how the numberation runs...)

This mod is designed for use with, I'm hoping, ANY weapons pak. You may just need to add a few things.

= IMPORTANT: This aircraft has been tested in Post-Patch SF/WoV/WoE/WoI. Be advised of the existence of some handling issues prevelant in WW2 era and many Pre-Patch (ie: 06 level) aircraft. Fly accordingly!!! It should also work in SF2 and later iterations - this has NOT been tested, however.

The original readmes from Pasko and Ordway are incuded.

As expected, the standard or garden varitey highly detailed readme is included with all the necessary instructions and so forth. It'd be worthwhile to give it a once over!

      Happy Landings!

    21. NAA F-86E Sabre, Fuerza Aérea Hondureña

NAA F-86E Sabre, Fuerza Aérea Hondureña (Honduran Air Force) for SF/WoV/WoE/WoI and probably SF2

-Part of an on-going series of mod recreating Central American Airpower

Modifications, and a complete reskin of F-86 Sabre into those as used by the Honduran Air Force.
This is a aircraft mod, with everything included to (well, pretty much) just unzip and fly away with!!

The skins, from templates supplied by Zur about a milliion years ago, represent a "USAF SEA style" of coloring and pattern. The pattern itself might be considerd "interperative", but follows fairly closely to what few photos I was able to find in the research phase of this mod..New decals for the individual aircraft are from historical listings. The numbers.lst, while included, is NOT active, to prevent 'running out of numbers in game'. It's just renamed, so it's easy to reactiveate it.

You also get a new WoE style Hangar screen, all the weapons are included (well, ok just the drop tanks in this cas...)in the new "folder format" for use in post-patch installs, -and- in EACH weapons folder is a _data.ini as used by SF2. Unfortunately, as I don't have SF2, some experimentation on your part will be required to install and get them up and running. (meaning, I'm not sure how the numberation runs...)

Cockpit mods are the inclusion of the "K-14" style air-to-air and air-to-ground sights, as seen on some other Sabre mods I've released.

This mod is designed for use with, I'm hoping, ANY weapons pak. You may just need to add a few things.

As usual, the readme contains pretty much all the info necessary to get up and running (or flying as the case may be!)So, give a read through

    23. Gina Mk1 Rhodaf

Fiat G-91 R4 Gina Mk1, No.2 Squadron Rhodesian Air Force, Thornhill Air Force Base, Rhodesia, early 1980s.

Now imagine that Ian Smith had won the internal settlement elections in April 1979, and that the Lancaster House Agreements
never took place. Instead of the South African volte-face which did take place in reality, South Africa's John Vorster
maintained the oil supply to Rhodesia, and increased South African military aid. Rhodesia continued to fight for its survival...

Despite the leftist revolution in Portugal in 1974, new aircraft were made available in the shape of 16 ex-Portuguese Air Force
Ginas from stocks left in Mozambique. With a bit of tricky under-the-table dealing to circumvent the UN arms embargo and outwit
the current left-wing government of Portugal, these aircraft were brought on strength in 1980 with No2 Sqn RhAF to replace their
      ageing DH Vampires.

And Robert Mugabe, in the real world Africa's worst dictator since Idi Amin, never came to power.

Thanks go to Erikgen for the aircraft, RussoUK and Zurawski for the cockpit, and Jeremiah Weed for the concept.

THIS IS FOR SF2 ONLY AND WILL NOT WORK IN WOX/SF1

    24. Hunter FGA.9 Rhodaf (SW)

FIXED VERSION - MISSING PYLON ADDED - APOLOGIES TO ALL CONCERNED!

Rhodesian Air Force Hawker Hunter FGA.9 as modified by the South African Air Force to carry either Sidewinder or V3B "Voorslag" IR missiles. This was carried out at the SAAF's TFDC at Waterkloof in August 1979.

      http://www.ourstory.com/thread.html?t=305460

The main difference between the Rhodesian Hunters and other similarly modified Hunters is the addition of an extra weapons pylon between the two existing ones; most Air Forces simply used the external pylon.

At least two aircraft were modified this way. It is unclear what happened to them after Independence.

Credits go to Spinners for converting the stock FGS.9 to flyable, AleDucat for making the indispensable pylon and rail, and Jeremiah Weed for the idea and support. Thanks!

FREEWARE ONLY WITHIN THE TERMS OF THE COMBATACE AGREEMENT.

THIS IS FOR STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 ONLY AND WILL NOT WORK AS SUCH IN WOX/SF1.

    25. Hunter FGA.9 Rhodaf Late UDI Period

HAWKER HUNTER FGA.9, No.1 Squadron Rhodesian Air Force, Thornhill AFB, Rhodesia, late 1970s

The Hawker Hunter FGA.9 was delivered the (then) Royal Rhodesian Air Force in 1962/3 to replace the DH Vampires then in
service with No.1 Squadron. The aircraft wore a number of different camouflage schemes during its twenty-plus years in
service with the Royal Rhodesian Air Force, the UDI-period Rhodesian Air Force and finally, the post-Independence
      Air Force of Zimbabwe.

Twelve aircraft were delivered, and all are represented in this pack, although three crashed during the 1970s.

      Credits:

Spinners modified the Thirdwire stock Hunter FGA.9 to make it flyable, and fitted the cockpit.
Modifications to ini files, stock weapons, screens and skin by Nigel "ndicki" Dickinson.
Ideas and support from Josh "Jeremiah Weed"

      FOR SF2 ONLY
