BAC Lightnings of JG71 'Richthofen'

Waaaagh! :shok:

Nearly got a heart attack!

It is really an ugly plane (like most british post-WWII ones - except the hunter and the Vulcan  ), but kind of cool!

Vampire?

Not bad, but not as elegant as the Hunter...

The funny thing is the Vampire was kind of "the" jet for my father - it was the first jet he ever saw flying over Oldenburg (even if he was a a child back then he never forgot that typical shape)!

The Lightning was a lovely aircraft and no way ugly....it was way ahead of its time...would outclimb any of todays fighters no problem....and leave most for dead...a true British Classic...

Would agree up until they added the belly tank...kind of led to a pregnant guppy effect. However, in terms of its performance, one of the most beautiful ever!

True, I would love to see a F3, my favorite Lightning.

I dunno, I always liked it in black. Just need to figure out how to give the canopy the golden tinge...

This was a curious fight. A good case in point for the "Pilot vs Plane vs technology" argument. I should have won this. F-23s arrive on station, are greeted by F-7Gs... Sounds simple, right? :dntknw:

...but I got tagged and lost 2 of my guys in the fight. We got six, but still, given the cost of those F-23s, I'd be grinning if I were the PLAAF. Grinning with a bloody nose, but grinning nonetheless. Those R-73s are nasty!

Unless somebody does it, I'll get it done this afternoon, but it's relatively simple. All somebody really has to do is edit the "CanopyGlass.tga" by opening an F-16 canopy texture and saving it as "CanopyGlass.tga". Only caveat it should look okay, or what you want.

BTW nice skin :good:

And the F-7G is a pretty decent real world aircraft, far surpassing it's MIG-21 progenitor.
