Mobile SAM to cover tanks? Ouch...

really?

Well, SA-8 is there and I think it's designed primarily for a mobile platform. Haven't seen them in game yet.

Shots? I give you shots

This shot might look peaceful - but this is me running for it with MiG-23s all over the place - they shot no end of missiles - and in that pic my rudder has been taken out - needless to say i didn't last much longer - there was a time when they would have just ignored me :)

I might just be imagining this but I told my flight to 'engage air' and told my wingman to 'cover me' and they did! In fact, two of my guys seemed to be chasing a MiG-21 very agressively indeed.

Do the appear solo or in same circle patterns?

This is the first SA-8 I've seen so far. And it was in the middle of a bunch of t-72 tanks to cover them. I don't know about the date of appearance either, but according to wikifootia it was 1974 when they came first in service, and around 1975 they were spotted the first time.

Merci à notre ami Suisse! Par contre, je trouve les markings un peu bizarres...

Thanks to our Swiss friend! By the way, am I the only one thinking that the french planes markings are quite strange? They are not like what I'm used to...
