+gregoryp Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Took a few minor changes but they work. Some are pretty old visual models from the SFG days. All are using the new AvHistory Flight models in development and fly fine within the limits of SF2E. So I guess us Prop-heads can upgrade to the SF2 series. BTW, the P-51's in the image had just shot down some pesky MiG-27's attacking our armor. I was able to dive down and hit the MiG before he sped off. No idea how the wingman got his. But he called it out and there was a second column of smoke. Quote
+Baltika Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Great news I must say I am very excited by the prospect of the AvHistory WW2 bird FMs. For too long my WW2 installs have been stuck in the land of v083006. Getting the WW2 birds up to current standards would be magnificent  Quote
+Dave Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Now this is what will get me into the WWII part of series. Great job, keep up the most excellent work Sarge. 714...the good ole ladder days of Fighters Anthology. Quote
Wrench Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Oh, don't I remember those!!! Had my a$$ handed to me all the time wrench kevin stein Quote
+Stary Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Yup, interested in it. Definitely. AvHistory guys making progress I see. How's their new DM work? Quote
zmatt Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 What is AVhistory? This is the first time I have heard of it. Whatever it is it sounds like great news to all the propheads including yours truly. Quote
+ST0RM Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 (edited) What is AVhistory? This is the first time I have heard of it. Whatever it is it sounds like great news to all the propheads including yours truly. They are the former 1% team that was building flight models for the MS series of sims. CFS, and civilian FS. When Microsoft closed their sim lab, these guys decided to focus their attention on the TW series. EDIT --- Forgot to say thanks to Sarge for posting some news. Sounds great! Edited June 10, 2009 by ST0RM Quote
ndicki Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Sarge??? That looks familiar! Glad to see things are coming along... Quote
jomni Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 (edited) Hey zmatt, check their work here. http://avhistory.org/communityserver/default.aspx Edited June 10, 2009 by jomni Quote
zmatt Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Cool, they seem really enthusiastic about it. Where do you actually get the FMs though? I checked the downloads and they only have CFS3 stuff up there. The Aero program sounds cool too. Now anyone will be able to get a basic FM going for their WIP. Quote
+DoctorQuest Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 (edited) This is really good news. The AVH guys are maniacs for accuracy and the TW sims might give them an even better platform for their work than the MS sims did. Edited June 10, 2009 by kirbykern Quote

He hasn't released the FM program for this series, Greg has just got it up and running. Beta testing these new FM's has just begun. Quote
WarlordATF Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Wonder if these FMs will work with WOE? It would be nice to delete my WWII install and go back to using multiple Aircraft and weapons folders again. In any event, its good to see some progress being made to bring the WWII Birds up to date! Quote
WarlordATF Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 On there Forums is a tip about getting all the old flight models working, i have tested it in WOE with the latest patch and it works! Its an easy fix and the planes fly so much better! http://avhistory.org/communityserver/forums/t/694.aspx Quote
Hokum Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Cool! Hmm now i just need to make a WWII install! Quote
+Dave Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Now back on topic, I would very much like to fly Wolf257's excellent P-51, with Pappy awesome WWII skins for it and the Avhistory FM. That is a winning combo. I used all the 1% FM back in my CFS days. Quote
+Stary Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 I used all the 1% FM back in my CFS days. Seems the peak of the work is the ETO 1.20 for CFS3... I highy recommend giving it a try, transforms crappy sim to a new level (think of OFF Phase1/Phase2 WW2 combo) Quote
Wrench Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 I used to have a moving carrier mission around here somewheres....they're REALLLLY old, made for the SF Desert map about 5-6 years ago. column5 Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Here’s the full gang of 10 Firefly Mk 5 Spitfire Mk 14c Tempest Mk 5 Bf-109G-10DC (Must have working slats) Bf-110G Do-335A-1 Fw-190D-6 A6M5C Ki-43 F4U-4 (6 x 50cal version) F6F-5 P-38J-25 P-47M P-51D-30 (currently using Wold257's as the main dev workhorse, thank you Wolf257!!). AD's Japanese Aircraft pack has an A6M2, A6M5, Ki-43 and G4M2: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...mp;showfile=744 All are excellent quality. Dave is no longer modding but I think he ould be proud to have AvHistory flight models for his aircraft. Russ has done the P-47M and a Bf-109E. I know you need a G but either he or another modeler may be interested in upgrading the E to a G. He is still active so you may want to drop him a line. His stuff is excellent. The Mirage Factory has an excellent F4U floating around somewhere...I think it is an F4U-7 but may be easily backdated to the -4. Bpao would be the person to contact about that. And of course everything by Wolf-257 is really nice. Quote

Wrench Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 I modded the TMF -7 into a -4B, but it's got the cannon. I think I did a version of Wolf's into a -4 with 6 fifties...it's around her somewheres!!! If not, I'll find it wrench kevin stein Quote

zmatt Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Don't forget about Cocas. He is the guy to go to for the 109. he has E's already done, and he is working on the C and D now. The F and G are also in the pipeline. He has a stickied thread in the modding forum. Quote
