HotNess 2 Posted November 13, 2009 (edited) wow..a cheerful friday 13th topic lol, I guess its all down to personal belief, I myself have been close to death, not that long ago,and it doesnt bother me in that way of ohhh my god im gonna die, what did bother me was family and how hard it would be,but as for buried, burnt or stufffed n mountedit isnt again on my list to think about as im one of those that just thinks your dead, then your dead and thats it..i dont think theres god n hevan or hell or life after or a soul...we just dead and it over n done with, you dont come back as a fish or another baby ...again,this is my personl feeling and others have theres x xx v xx oh..also,as much as everyone has there belief i dont think any is right or wrong, its really about what comforts you to make the who argghhhh im dying thing easier x Edited November 13, 2009 by racindriver1

macelena 1,070 Posted November 13, 2009 Take it easy, Profi. It is not of my concern, but if you lost somebody important for you, or experienced something hitting, you should talk it out with somebody who knows you, don´t feel disturbed or ashamed for that In my opinion , th trouble about death is the pain of your relatives, and when you leave something wrong. I mean, you regret of having done or not, said, or paid something. Just take as much from life, and deserve it, so you can quit in peace, with your debts covered and an extra of pride. About the fear you might have to death, it comes from a natural instinct wich you have not because there is not a cogent need to live forever, you have just because if your DNA didn´t mark that, you would have extincted thousands of years ago, this feeling is not deeper than what you might thnk being drunk, or getting obsesed with a porn star, just some trash on the veins of your brains, and once death, it just doesn´t matter which kind of s**t you got wasting your brains, copy that? Abou afterlife, the idea of remaining forever with your beloved is plain beautyful, however, and althought with some doubts, i´m almost sure that doesn´t exist. Anyway, you wouldn´t really like to exist forever, do you? Personally i´m just an asshole who never saw anybody die, but this is what i think

JediMaster 451 Posted November 13, 2009 I'm not nearly as frightened of dying as I am of almost dying but then surviving in some horribly diminished capacity, so bad I wish I had died. While I know I won't feel a thing if I'm gone, I feel now like I'd miss my family, and I know how much it would hurt them if I was gone.

+hgbn 91 Posted November 13, 2009 Death is a weird thing. The BIG unknown. Something none of us can cheat. I dont think you're gone when you die. I have seen to much weird stuff happening in my life to believe that its like switching a buttom on/off. I dont fear it myself since I truly believe its just a phase anyone has to endure to becomming something else. I cant tell you what since I dont know. Silverbolt 104 Posted November 16, 2009 Diseases beyond healing. I knew some who where willing to give everything they had, just so they could die. yeah, me too, people with terminal diseases...really depressive background for those people. but in case of somebody would think in give up, i reccomend to see the example of Brazilian vice-President...that men is mad, he is 78 years old, passed for countless surgeries, he is in final stage....he had to take out countless tumors:blink:

TX3RN0BILL 3 Posted November 16, 2009 As someone who believes that souls are immortal (well I still haven't made a "regression" yet but I'm interested in it, even if it's just to laugh my ass off, to see what I've been doing these last few past lifes), I believe it's very unfortunate that our bodies have a timestamp on them (supposedly "good for 140 years" according to science, but in reality anything past 100 is pure luck, heck, getting there is luck as well!!). But when I read about the title of the topic I was thinking rather that it was about the end of the world, something that's rather closer than farther away. Whilst I don't belong to those that say that the world will DEFINITELY end on December 21st, 2012, I've been hearing more and more scientists speak on how things will change in the world - and I'm not just talking about the weather, which could have far worse consequences than anybody might think - and therefore I'm wondering if modern society as a whole isn't on some "highway to hell", right now. The pace of life has never been quicker, and resources to sustain life as we know it are earmarked to be exhausted already in this century - that's not just fossil fuels, but even more basic things like drinkable water... If that's the case I'm of the personal oppinion that it'd be better for all of humanity to be wiped out in some near-instantaneous apocalyptic event ("Knowing" comes to mind) rather than grinding down in suffering - either that or we get some sort of miraculous help from above or fate that'll change us so that humanity in itself will rise above itself and prove to the universe that it isn't some sort of failed experiment of evolution of life on this planet. Hopes for the latter aren't disparate and I must consider a book called "The God Formula" (a book of fiction based on real scientific data), by José Rodrigues dos Santos, quite inspirational. I could nevertheless not write a post and not extend my condolences to those who've lost ones dear to them, but I cannot help but remind them that the pain always only belongs to those left behind - one WW2 quote from the manual of "Aces over Europe", that old ancient game, always comes to mind... "Hold to your glasses steady, this world is a world of lies. There's a health for the dead already, hurray for the next man to die!"
