Flyby PC Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Just heard Richard Todd died this morning. In the Longest Day, he played the CO of the Para's who landed their gliders beside the Orne River Bridge. He played the part of a hero, but was a real hero who actually took past in the raid. Quote
ndicki Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Hi Stan! Long time, no see... True - in the film, he played Howard, while another actor played Capt. Richard Todd of 7 PARA. Odd... Makes a change from today's actors, who would faint and go weak at the knees at the prospect of doing anything remotely dangerous or bellicose. It used to take real men to play real men... Quote
