X-31 WIP

G'Day,

 

I just thought I'd update you all on what I've been working on lately.

The model is about 95% complete as you can see from the pics (Haven't done the intake or the thrust vectoring paddles yet)

For all you ATF fans out there, I thought that 5 weapon stations wasn't enough. So I've added pylons on the main landing gear doors as you can see from the picture, bringing the number of stations to 7.

Should have it in the game by the end of the week and then I can work on mapping, skinning and .ini editing.

At this stage I'm looking at a late Jan to early Feb release.

You can almost see hints of the MBB Firefly in it, if you squint and tilt your head a little...

As I see you are creating the prototype version, are you planing to create a former F-31 with vectorthrust (animated nozzels) like the one on the Su-37?!

Yes, TVC will be animated on the model in game but due to game limitations not for aircraft control.

It's a helluva plane...i remember not long time ago a video when the X-31 Pilot Ejects and the ground crew try to restablish controll like if it was an UAV.

An X 31! I was the Assistant Product Support Program Manager on this program for GEAE at Lynn MA. Looking great so far! Can't wait to try 'er out!
