Ramstein on a murky winters day (I've been experimenting with my Desert terrain airfield mod in the Four Seasons terrain - tricky adding it on but so far so good)

When visiting World Heritage sites, it always a good idea to bring a friend/spouse/significant other along. Not only can expenses be shared, but so can the driving. They can also be quite usefull for carring the various and sundry "goodies" needed -- cameras, camera bags, extra batteries, memory sticks (or even film if one is still so inclined).

And having another, valued person along makes for a wonderful shared experience, to be treasured for years to come.

As a lowly, untraveled clod-hopper from all over the US and certain parts of Europe in the 80's, I've no idea what that exotic,

far eastern looking building is, but it looks mighty fine, sho `nuf...

yep, good one spinners. I can see the Hustler being a part of the British nuclear bomber force back in the 70's as a what if. Not sure how they would get the Tu-16 unless from another country like Egypt back then. Avionics work on the tu-16 would be a real trip though. The tu-16 though outdated seems more sleek tha the tu-22.

Stylish plane the Hustler.

I love the quote from the Convair test pilot (Beryl Erickson) during a low-level blast from Carswell AFB to Edwards AFB in 1959 all below 500 feet and at about 600knots all the way - "We were travelling faster than a .45 pistol bullet, no wonder people had trouble recognising us". Classic.
