Anyone get the B-2 Spirit to fy In SF2?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Has anyone managed to get the SF1 B2 Spirit to fly in SF2?

I've tried in different SF2 installs: Stand-alone without SF2:NA; Merged with SF2:NA; Stand-alone with SF2:NA, etc....

No luck. It loads up to 100% when you hit the 'fly' button, then jumps to a black place void of sound, light, warmth and life, like the interior of my ex-wife's heart.

Have to Control-Alt-Delete to get out of the game.

The skin is hi-res, 2048, but downsizing didn't fix it for me. And my machine doesn't have problems with hi-rez skins.

So.... here I am, unable to sneak up on places and bomb them into the stone age.

Any help is appreciated.

Try to change all the "ini" files form ANSI to Unicode format, I think you solve all the problems.

unicode or ansi has 100% NO bearing on anything ... the game reads both equally well (all my terrain mods ini are ansi ... and nobody's bitched yet)

the problem, as always ... lies eleswhere.

1st and Foremost: check the MiniumBaseSize= on the Spirt ... if set the LARGE (as it should be), be triple certain that you're flying on a terrain that HAS the large airfield (Runway4)

Try this search data in for

DummyComponent=TRUE

on the [LeftStab] and [RightStab]

and change them to this

//DummyComponent=TRUE

It worked for me.

Cheers

Remember too, people....

If you have issues/problems/question for DAT releases, YOU MUST TAKE THE QUESTIONS TO THEIR SITE!!!

Capun even posted over there, that as they can't get to CA, they can't help you. Also, as he said there it still a very beta release, so problems ARE to be expected. Reporting there will help them refine the release.

I think that was just luck because that has nothing to do with it.

You have to look more into the direction of the cockpit.

Also the plane has many things that don't make sense.

The weight, range, flightmodel, etc... are all off.

My best regards, Kodiak.

Hence why it's listed as BETA and SF1.

Because it's not available here. It's over at Capun's site and you'll need download privileges from him.

oooooooooh, Wrench and Storm said a bad word.... :grin:

in the bit of experience i've had with their stuff, it works in SF2 or it doesnt. their site has told me directly they don't see the benefit of SF2. here that site and it's products are taboo. do the ybest with your experience, if some one is willing to help thru through PM take the help, but for the most part it has to be totally not available here at CA, or TW stock, or Pasko's old site, or no ones working on one at all for me to go there. that point being most of the time unless its a bird you REALLY want. just my two cents.

and Storm and Wrench said a bad word. :grin:

it just takes some ini editting if it will work at all. had trouble with the Tempest for the longest time (hint to prop guys: Tempest II new model please) but constant fiddling finally got it to work. (don't ask what exactly i did it was a year ago and somedays i am lucky to remember my name!) in general experience most(tho not all ) Gen 1s will show in game, but take much editting to act right.

I'm surprised there are no SF2 B-2 and F-117 planes, I consider those to be in the Top-10 in the list of Bad-Assery

EDIT: I got the B-2 to work, next is to find a F-117.

There are F-117s. Check ODS or NATO Fighters 5 for starters.

Might even be a standalone somewhere...
