You can do it with Microsoft Office Pictures Manager if you have that. Just put it in thumbnail view, highlight all the files you need to then view the go to File -> Export. You can change it to .bmp, .gif, .jpg, .png, and .tif formats. You can also make other changes at the same time as well like altering the image size.

Wow, really?  Where can I pick that up?

Also, maybe for Wrench, but anyone else remember what the last version of Photoshop Elements was that natively supported .tga files?

never used elements.. still using PS 6 for decals, even though I have PS 7 I don't like the way it handles text and tgas

I have PS Elements 7 and it doesn't handle the .tgas properly too, I mean I can't touch the alpha channel since it doesn't show it, so I use other alternatives like Paint.NET with user-made plug-ins.

Back to topic, I use XnView for my conversions from .bmp to .jpeg; you can even set the quality of the compression, I always set it to 100% in order to keep max details but with less space thanks to how the .jpeg works. You can select lots of files, even 400 or more, and it works, rarely crashed in the past, the last version should be more stable indeed.
