Hi folks,anyone know how to change an ini to give an aircraft asymmetrical loadouts  (eg amraam on one F16 wingtip and aim9x on the other) without having to edit loadout ini ?

For that, you need to modify the data.ini and change the designations of the weapon stations, giving the StationGroupID the same number as the StationID.

That is how the weapon section of the data.ini of my YFA-5 Tactical Tiger looks like:

[LeftSidewinderStation]
SystemType=WEAPON_STATION
StationID=1
StationGroupID=1
StationType=EXTERNAL
AttachmentPosition=-3.99,-2.108,-0.132
AttachmentAngles=0.0,-2.0,90.0
LoadLimit=200.0

[RightSidewinderStation]

The loadout.ini looks like this:

But SF2 can only handle seven StationIDs ingame...all other higher stations higher than seven will have weapons, but you won't be able to change the inside the game.

you have to edit weaponstations in data. ini file by  changing station  group id. both wingtip stations have same id number - change left / right to 1 / 2 etc.

but !!!

aircraft can have only 6 stations groups...so you have to check if there are available stations group. .

StationGroupID=7

Is this working ? thought it has only 6 available station groups. and 32/36 weaponstations.

Yeah! You're right. Only 6 stations show up.

yes, one must edit BOTH the aircraft's data ini AND loadout ini. As long as you remain within the allowed 6 groups, you can have as many stations as you like. Of course, mounting positions WILL differ

yes, you can have a 7th station, if you want something permantently loaded. Can't remember what plane we used it on, but it did work iirc.

Yup, it's good option for external ECM or dispensenrs.

The Super Pack Turkeys use a number of asymmetric loadouts for TARPS and Strike (e.g., differential pod/ECA/EFA on Phoenix pylons, TARPS pod and nothing on back pylons, and for strike LANTIRN pod on one glove pylon and Sparrow or Phoenix on the other).  It's especially noticeable on the F-14A/B/D_(96) aircraft, so you can look at that.  I thought the Tornado did something similar for some of its loadouts, too.

      With the added 5 gun calibres came the need to display their tracers differently and this is how they look now:

      Since stock v1.2's gunvalues don't allow the gun's full ranges to be used and the weapon names don't work when values are in between two callibres the routine was rewritten. It will allow deviations from the standard hitpower without loosing the weapon names and adds the possibillity of a 50mm weapon or higher.
      The stock values are 2, 4, 12, 24, however any single byte value can be used, so the maximum hitpower value can be 255. That would probably be a callibre the size of a medieval canonball or so, which is obviously not very usefull but it can be set. I've choosen 36 for the 50mm, since the value is the same when the 20 and 30 mm hitpower values are added up which I think will be a reasonable representation of the weapon.
      Ofcourse the ME262's nosemounted .88 is also a feasable option and I should have it's value somewhere when we tested it with an RAF pilot and friend, may he rest in peace, who flew Meteors in the Korean war and who also described the weapon's devastation
      It principally means that there's more room to precisely modify the PLANES.DAT's weapon's values to more historical accurate hitpower of weapons, which by default aren't incorporated. Another advantage is that in combination with the plane's armour values planes can be better ballanced against each other in terms of matching the planes advantages/disadvantages vs the other planes.
      Ofcourse the routine was optimised to run much faster, :)

      Hello strikers!

      I am an enthusiastic campaign builder and i didn't have problems until this

      I am creating a new campaign with "CubaOTC" terrain, setting a fictional war between Argentina, Chile and Peru

      All works great (Data, squadrons, flayable planes, missions, etc) except one thing, weapon supplies

      Tried without "Supply[001].WeaponType=....." and with it, but nothing happens, i used the "Supply[001].WeaponType=....." from the "Falklands" campaign for the Argentinean planes, and nothing again, in "available stores" screen, nothing appears and i dont have any weapons tu use (Empty)

      This conflict is from 1985, so i dont think that is a date problem

      Someone knows about this?
