Oh, that would be nice, Actually, I took it from a PDF file with all the stencils from an MF and used a virtual Russian keyboard to write them, so, some may not be fit for it, but happy to share it with you.

Now, for these rearview mirrors, I always wanted to know if they were used and who did it, this pic belongs to an SPS as the pic says, but, more light can be shed, if possible

can you please share the pdf file ? i can't find any high quality file for my project. Thanks in advance!!!

Hello guys, good day all!

I am trying to make the pit to work, many questions may arise :)

What is this instrument for? what does do? It is on the PFM, FL and MF

IIRC it is the "display" of the LASUR command data link. But i will ask some guys who know it better than me.

In a german forum i found a description of the MiG-21PFM cockpit: (You need to register to see the attached pictures and all is writen in german language.)

https://www.flugzeugforum.de/threads/mig-21-cockpiterklaerung.44630/

There is to find:

6846e36956345_MiG-21cockpitpanel.jpg.4c057c036c893a0eda7c7cefac3bfea5.jpg

7 Kraftstoffanzeige (Durchflussmenge)
8 - Kommandosteuergerät Lasur ... zur Übertragung von Leitkommandos
9 Machmeter
10- "Zweizeigergerät" Druck Hydraulikhaupt- und verstärkersystem
11- "T10" - Leuchtfelder für diverse Ausfall- bzw. Statusanzeigen
12 Triebwerksdrehzahl n1/n2 in %
13 T4 Abgastemperatur des Triebwerks
14 Uhr
16 Schmierstoffdruck
17 Bordspannung
18 T4 Leuchtfelder
19 Notabwurf Anhängungen "

Nr.8 is the instrument you are looking for. It is the LAZUR command data link display. I think the game engine can't handle it.

Since autopilot on MiG-21 was still fairly basic, this indicator was used to give pilot visual cues on required intercept course. Works similar to glideslope/course director on landing, you align the movable lines with the cross in the center and it means you go right. On later models like MiG-23 and MiG-25 this was directly linked with autopilot so it could take commands directly from CGI without pilot supervision. Pilot could almost take a nap but he still retained throttle control

The vertical aka azimuth line could be made to work within base SF2 avionics - the game supports course indicators. Horizontal aka altitude line unfortunately won't work outside of landing waypoints

I was thinking the same in some way, thanks for the feedback.

Now, next one, I have this labeled as РСВ-УМ, do you know what it is?

The LASUR indicator not only shows the flightpath to intercept the target. Left of the indicator you have 3 lamps which shows the distance to target in kilometers. The "x" lamp on the right signals the order to finish the interception and break away. The lamps above and below have something to do with target position and the use of the weapons. There should be a signal lamp to give the order to attack the target and a second lamp which gives the order to activate the radar.

With this informations it was possible to bring a MiG-21 into a perfect fire position without to warn the RWR of the enemy plane.

It always amazes me the pilot could see where he was going!! That cockpit is SO cramped and full of stuff!!!

In the first and in the last photos it are lamps with different meaning, like warning lights, but i dont know which is which. It would be nice if you had a better resulution photo so that we can read the cyrillic written words.

In the middle photo. The top button is for activating the SPRD system (rocket assisted take off) and for drop the rockets when they are burned out. For the red button i have no idea.

To the middle photo. I found a photo of a MiG-21SPS of the East German Air Force in my archiv, which is similar to the Soviet MiG-21PFM. Some instruments are on a different location, but this do not matter.

The top botton or switch has the label   пуск ускорит , what means in german:  Startbeschleunigung and in english: start of the accelerator. Also SPRD or in english RATO system.

Below the red button is a lable with  сброс цели, what menas in german:  Ziel zurücksetzen and in english:  reset target. So i think it has something to do with the radar.

Whether it is illuminated, i think so, but I'm not sure.
