Update from "Partial Phillipines44" campaign, posted 7 27 21. It's working now - don't know why but when I deleted the A6M7, it seems to have fixed the issue. Hope you like it. ----- Re: This is an attempt to make a fictional 1944 campaign around Wrench's very nice Phillipines terrain. https://combatace.com/files/file/14171-phillipines-islands-1944-ww2-pto-terrain-for-sf2/ After reading 'Race of Aces' (great book - get it) I wanted to fly and fight many types of aircraft on that terrain. This is my first try at a campaign, and it uses a lot of gutting and reverse engineering from: Regula50's https://combatace.com/files/file/16491-tainan-kokutai-new-guinea-1942-campaignpart-1/ and -2 Pcpilot's https://combatace.com/files/file/13709-solomons-campaign/ Hope you guys don't mind - it's how I learn. Also much thanks to all the various aircraft downloads from this site I've used. This is a great community. If you don't have the various aircraft, just edit the ini's to ones you do have.

Tainan Kokutai New Guinea 1942 campaign(Part 2) For Strike Fighters 2 with New Guinea Terrain(NewGuinea2)(PTO). This campaign(second part)with some 61 missions cover the operations of the Tainan Kokutai between May 1 to Jun 30, 1942. With the RAAF No.75 Sqn decimated(Only 3 combat ready P-40Es by Apr 30, 1942)the new main opponent was the 8th FG with his two squadrons of P-39D/F. By the end of the month this first FG was reinforced with a second FG(35th FG)with two squadrons with P-39s and P-400s. Despite the numerical inferiority, Tainan Kokutai continued his near daily strikes and strafing against Port Moresby and in the same time defending his base at Lae, target of many strikes to wipe out the IJN unit. This missions against Lae were costly for the USAAF, and by May 25, 1942, of the eight B-25s of 3th BG send to strike Lae, only three returned to base. Historical accurate with the main units and bases deployment by the mentioned periode. Included A6M2 with textures and decals for Tainan Kokutai and 4th Kokutai. Included G4M1 bomber. Textures and decals for USAAC with old insignia(Pre May 1942 red center disc). Campaign take in count change of insignia after May 31, 1942. See readme for other details. Both configurations are also available with the addition of invisible skids; those will allow you to perform belly landings, which are a feature of good old F-22 Total Air War. Notes: -The B61 tactical nuclear bomb is a retarded version, but drop it safely from high altitude at high speed. Take note that it does not damage the stock Runway object, due to the armor values of it. The B61 is meant to be used against naval fleets you may encounter on some custom terrains. -You need to tweak the SoundList.ini file in order to fully experience any new sounds. Read "(Add to SoundList)" for further details, and remember to extract the SoundList.ini file from the FlightData.cat archive, if you do not have a custom one in your mod folder already. >Credits (in no particular order): -yakarov79, for his high quality templates which allowed me to easily put some new paint on the aircraft. -ravenclaw_007, for sharing some of his latest weapon 3d models for the bonus what-if loadouts. -Astore, for providing me with better Ace Combat themed emblems, and for being one of the few Italian Ace Combat fans like me. -godrugalultimate, from DeviantArt, for making incredibly detailed Ace Combat themed decals. -RythusOmega, for providing all Ace Combat 7 emblems and whose skins have been used as reference for the Phoenix liveries. -Lanzerince, whose Ace Combat 7 skins have been used as reference for the Scarface livery. -mue, for his LOD Viewer which helped immensely in the making of the skins. -Blade, for sharing info about the purpose of the game's decal levels. -My girlfriend, for supporting me in all of my endeavours. >Disclaimer: This is a freeware; yet it can be redistributed ONLY in other CombatACE mods/mod packages. This mod may NOT in any way, shape or form be used in any payware additions.

Phillipines Islands 1944, WW2 PTO Terrain for SF2 - For SF2, Any & All (Full-5 Merged Reccomended) = For Adventures in the Western Pacific = *Note: this pack includes the PI 44 update pak released sometime back. It is designed for the timeframe of the US Invasion of Leyte in late 1944. It uses SF2NA statements for carrier-based operations. Hence, your PTO mods folder =SHOULD= (read: MUST) be built from the SF2NA exe. It is designed to REPLACE, in total, any eariler versions.* **Note2: IMPORTANT! Make sure you have the WW2 ground objects!!** This map repsents the situation in the Phillipines from approximately October thru December 1944, just after the US Invasion of Leyte. To that end, the eastern regions of Leyte, and southern Samar are conisdered (somewhat) 'secured' and in Allied hands. The rest of the country is still "Occupied Territory". The LimitedNations statement is set to TRUE, allowing only for the regional powers that took part. The terrain also makes use of the 'AllowedDates" statement, preventing use BEFORE October 1944 (but dosen't seem to be working quite right post 7/13 patch) LOTS of new tiles and their associated TODs have been created, and match the Green Hell 3 styling. There is also, as expected, a few Easter Eggs. Also included are several (ok, LOTS) GroundObjects, some you may have already, but a few are new. Some are updates of ships, tanks, truck and etc seen in my other terrain mods. These are designed to REPLACE any pre-existing ones I've done. Be advised, you'll still need many of the other WW2 PTO objects I've included in other terrain mod paks. Make sure you have them!!! REMEMBER: you will need the latest WW2 weapons and Guns pack! Some are supplied, but just to be safe... **Geophysical Disclaimer: some rivers and other water features may not follow their Real Life ™ courses, or be placed in their Real Life ™ locations, or exist at all. Several cities and other physical features may also fall into that classification. Some cities exist as 'named places' only. Some airfields may not be in their historical locaitons due to Height Field and other tiling restrictions.** As always, unzip this to a temp folder or your desktop, and you'll have access to the rest of the readme for it's instructions. It's reccomended you READ this document through after unzipping, but BEFORE installing. Again, as always, the Notes and Other Nonesense section may make for entertaining reading. Please also read the New Standard Usage Discalimer, as it's been changed slightly to reflect a change in my policy. It's listed at the bottom, in the Legal Statement Section, with the URL back to the CA post. Good Hunting! wrench Kevin Stein

***Solomons campaign Readme*** This is a "quick" and dirty little campaign for those who have made a Pacific war install. I wanted to do more than just single missions so researched how to make a camapign on my own. It was a little frustrating, but also quite rewarding and fun. I espesially liked the research part. Which brings to mind, this is not a strictly historical campaign. The units that are flyable did fight during the camapign but there are tons of details Im sure people could pick apart till the cows come home. What you need... To start with, the Solomons Version 3 terrain and wrenchs' planes readily available at combatace. You'll need the F4F-4, P-39/P400, P-38F, SBD-3 and SBD-5, F4U-1_TMF, A6M2, D3a Val, and Ki-43IIb packages from Wrench. He has done an OUTSTANDING job breathing new life into these models. Also the Betty G4M2 from armourdave. Add Starys' solomons and phillippines visual updates and wrenchs' pacific ships. I also added Kesselbrut's Pazific_GOP infantry and AAA units. Also look for the ShermanM4A3 and Type95 tanks, I forgot what the name of the pack I found them in but they are found at combatace. If you want to add a little more "period" feel to this campaign, add my Menu music and Pacific AirWar menu screens, also found at combatace. Just unzip this file into your C:\Users\Jeff\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 PAW folder, (or whatever you named your PAW install.) Hope ya like 'em. Please let me know if there are any issues, I have not been able to test as thoroughly as I would like. These files are released under the CombatAce Freeware Licensing agreement. You are free to modify these files and use them as you wish as long as the files are not used in payware of any kind. If you use them, please remember to give credit. These files are released to a great community of simmers at CombatAce and SimHq. Have fun and God bless. Jeff "pcpilot" Gerald
