  1. Tried...haven't seen a definitive 'yep, that was the issue' yet result. FC
  2. Well, getting the AI to use it isn't a problem with the edits I did for the stock FFAR. The current problem we are dealing with is why the rockets are aiming low. FC
  3. Sigh...you don't have to extract ANYTHING. If you use the same callouts, the program goes to the Objectdata.CAT. I used ini edits only to rebuild the older Tornado's to a more modern HUD and avionics package. Yes, it's work, but it was all text only. FC
  4. COIN=COunter INsurgency FC
  5. "Yes, it only takes INI edits to take advantage of the 70.dll." What part of that contradicts anything you said? If you use the stock TGAs for the radar and HUD, ALL you do is INI work. Yea, it's a LOT of ini work, but that's all it is. FC
  6. Nothing new really... http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=36758 FC
  7. Not really, except for maybe a few rare cases. FC
  8. Bump mapping refers to a technique to make objects appear to have detailed polygons that don't actually exist. The sim would have to support the function to begin with. I don't know if Adobe supports that or not. FC
  9. Yes, it only takes INI edits to take advantage of the 70.dll. Biggest improvements are the HUD, support for more advanced radars, laser pod and EO screens, etc. FC
  10. Autographed? Okay, that's cool...besides, I do always like good airborne pics... FC
  11. Spectre, Thanks for the info...I'm not sure if I'll get it or not since it's NASA (nothing against NASA of course, just more in tune with the USAF T-38s). However, the work ol KillerBee and EricJ and pappychksix have done on the T-38 and F-5F have really gotten them closer to release. FC
  12. Did I happen to mention that I was a Beale AFB T-38 IP as my last active duty assignment? Let me find my personal tail number... Nice.... FC
  13. I was in the waiting room and heard this commerical behind me... "What the hell?"... Once I figured it out, laughed my butt off! FC
  14. Actually JM, that's what I was thinking was the problem...which was why it may have been peculiar to his setup. FC
  15. Eric, you're doing nice work there. Please, continue. Also, you may want to talk to KillerBee...he's done a pretty nice job on the ejection seats (he's volunteered for the T-38 for his special project) if you guys want to compare notes. FC
  16. http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=34500 Beat ya to it. FC
  17. We are ALWAYS watching. FC

    RIP Ed

RIP Ed. We are all lesser now that you have departed. S!
  19. It isn't that hard to convert the weapons from the SFP1/WOx series to SF2. But it's very tedious. If you download the community weapons pack, a lot of the work has already been done... FC
  20. I know...but when I was testing the refueler concept , I tried it on a few aircraft and noticed if I held the TV control long enough, the 'engine' would break, breaking all the other engines on the aircraft and giving results exactly like the original poster experienced. It's the simplest explanation I can think of...only because it matches what I experienced. FC
  21. And the XF-103 will fire unguided rockets as well at air targets...just for some reason they can't hit anything! FC
  22. Engine nozzles typically are animated using vertex scaling. Scaling I assume you are familiar with...I'd imagine you had to do some of that to build the model. Basically, it's the same as regular animation, except you are scaling vertices, not moving the mesh. FC
  23. Also, in the data.ini's you'll notice parameters called MinExtent and MaxExtent. These define a 'hitbox' for the particular part they are assigned to. You'll notice even the pilots have hitboxes. So it's quite possible to have a bullet strike the pilot hitbox and not hit anything else and kill you. FC
