  1. Despite being in the middle of the desert, flying around Kandahar is pretty cool too. Mountains, dry river beds, and the red desert. I'll post some pictures eventually. I admit though, Bagram has all the cool scenery though. Almost makes me wish I was up their instead.
  2. OH-58D Kiowa Warriors are adorable fun-sized bundles of death

...Don't tempt me. Though it'd be easier to put them on Chinooks and Blackhawks

  3. Red Storm Rising is my all time favorite book. RIP
  4. The captain I talked to said it varied by unit and depended on how much money said unit had. There's some still tan flight suits around.
  5. Was wondering if someone could repaint one of the modern Air Force pilots and a modern helicopter pilot with multicam flight suits. Army flight crews and Blackhawk and Chinook maintainers wear two piece multicam flight suits out here in Afghanistan. So do the majority of the Air Force pilots I would imagine since the majority of the Air Force officers I've seen here wear them too.
  6. Odd. The F-15R wasn't in the F-15 super pack

  7. Latvian Mafia?
  8. That's going to take a while to get used to.
  9. Which of the DCS products would you all recommend? I've got Blackshark and A-10C. The Mi-8 is in my shopping cart. Do I need any previous versions of LOMAC to run Flaming Cliffs 3?
  10. So much stuff to balance out. PT, talking to the family, writing projects, PT, modding, getting coffee

Also trying to figure out if it'd be worth it to get DCS when I get a new laptop

  11. Thanks for failing to install, yet again FSX. Last time I buy something direct to download from Microsoft on the PC

  12. Saw an Mi-26. Wow

  13. It's Formula 1 in the 1970s. It's fast, dangerous, and the word "safety" is only starting to become a part of a driver's vocabulary.

    Its Time......

Meh none of the TVs at KAF ever show American sports.
  15. Need some help with the ground campaign. That's always been my issue with campaign building.
  16. The Australians here are awesome

      We're awesome everywhere! :p

  17. I thought about adding helicopters, but I work on them for a living so I need some sort of escape from rotary wings!
  18. Cool! I too saw my first Mi-17 today, it being from the Afghan Air Force.
  19. My skinning skills? What's a skin? Yeah that's how bad they are. Luckily I found an RAAF skin for the A310. I'll check out the PC-9. I'm going use the Airbus and Super Bugs because I'm only going to have a total of 6 deployed and I doubt one would be used as a refueler with such limited numbers.
  20. Ok as mentioned, my Kamchatka campaign is on hold. However, as also mentioned, I have a COIN campaign for pfunk's awesome little Archipelago in the works. October 2014. The Tuatanu People's Communist Party for Solidarity and Strength has staged a rebellion throughout the archipelago and quickly seized control of the northern islands thanks to stockpiles of weapons hidden following the war in 1992 and alleged North Korean assistance. Following an official request from the Prime Minister of Tuatanu, elements of the Australian Defense Force are deployed to the archipelago to assist in COIN operations. Yeah, I know pfunk has the map set up for the 1940s-1962. But it looks well set up for COIN. I'll do some minor fidgeting with the targets to get some SAMs, bunkers and commie hidey-holes. So far I only have one squadron set up. RAAF 1 Squadron flying F/A-18Fs. Don't what what else to add apart from RAAF transports and tankers. We do have an RAAF Airbus somewhere right? May add some North Korean MiGs just for fun. Would also like to add civil aviation some how. Neutral country perhaps? Wrench, you had that figured that out right? Once I get it running, I'm going to need someone with more time available than me to test it.
  21. Sweet bird! Definitely going to brave the lengthy Afghan internet download speed to get this one.
  22. Kamchatka campaign on hold.

      F-4EJs. TW's F-4EJs needed a home and so will ravenclaw's once they're out.

  23. Great to hear, Wrench! Hopefully I'll be able to download it on this shitty Afghan connection. Jonathon, that's what I was thinking about with just giving the ground forces a later date. It probably will take a while to get that solved.
  24. Would the campaign engine be able to support a sea-air campaign with a ground campaign beginning a few days or weeks later? Also, does anyone know if the Kamchatka terrain is already set up for a naval campaign?
  25. Going to pass time in Afghanistan making an SF2 campaign. I think that should be enough time to finish one

don't remember an Aghan coffee. but that was 2009. loved going to the Brit side of town tho. better prices better food. at Heroes used to get two pies (think fancy hot pockets) and an irn bru soda for $3.25. irn bru is admittedly an acquired taste but try getting full at the boardwalk for that price!

Afghan Coffee is by the RLBs or whatever our barracks are called. I want to go to the other countries areas, but can't find them, nor have I had time. I haven't eaten at the boardwalk for the very reason of prices.
