  1. JM, I caught that one on the Tuesday after it first opened, at an 11:00 AM viewing. Kids were still in school at the time, and most adults were supposed to be at work (my schedule back then had me working weekends, with Tuesdays and Wednesdays off). Despite the hour and the day of the week, the theater was still packed, though there was no line to see it when I got there.
  2. The dog was so terrified, that he would not leave the car...he was the only fatality The winds at that time were only 40 knots....if you re-read my post, you'll see that I said that "hurricane-force gusts (over 130 kph), are common there", I never said that was the wind speed at the time of the collapse. Anyway, here's a link to the wiki page on the collapse: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tacoma_Narrows_Bridge_(1940)
  3. I kind of had my suspicions, that as a solution to the '08 patch FM issue, it was a bit too easy to be real...
  4. Pacman and Ms Pacman made my partners and myself a steady earning up until 1990 or so. At one point (around 1985), we had something on the order of 11 Pacman machines in our inventory, making us money, a Quarter at a time. The two games that really started it all though, were Space Invaders and Asteroids, in 1978 and 1979. And, even before that time, lets us not forget Space Wars (1976 or 77). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_Invaders http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asteroids_(video_game) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_Wars
  5. I've forgotten the exact term that was used, but that was one of the factors in the Tacoma Narrows bridge collapse. The other was underestimating wind speeds at that point in the Tacoma Narrows area. I understand that hurricane-force gusts (over 130 kph), are common there.
  6. Too little, too late. That doesn't even classify as "fun to drive across". Now, this on the other hand, applies advanced aerodynamic principles in assuring that one experiences an entertaining drive while crossing the span
  7. Check your PMs, let me know if this mod works for you.
  8. Ed, if you're willing to try it, I have a "'06-style maneuvering" fix for an '08 patched sim. You'll be the first to supply feedback on it.
  9. No. That was done specifically for copyright protection.
  10. Oh...for a second there, I half expected you to ask for a large, moving torg, or a slor....
  11. And increased susceptibility to being bounced around by updrafts and air currents when flying fast at low altitudes. High wing loading's the reason why the F-104, F-105, and F-111s are so damned stable at high subsonic and low supersonic speeds, while flying down "in the weeds".
  12. Are you asking in regards to existing models?
  13. There is no "infrared" view in this series per se, that is, a view that specifically shows hot or warm objects as light sources. There is, however, a low light camera feature, that operates both through weapons designators, and/or as a stand alone unit. The F-14B cockpit has such a view keyed to it's MFD (via its TCS system). You'll need to add the system to both the aircraft's data.ini, and to its avionics.ini.
  14. Delta wings = large lift surfaces with comparatively low drag. Another benefit of the delta-wing design, is that it makes for an aircraft with predictable and benign handling characteristics.
  15. We search for the truth We could die upon the tooth But the thrill of just the chase Is worth the pain... We'll know for the first time If we're evil or divine We're the last in line! We're the last in line!
  16. Are you refusing the (free) cherrywood or mahogany cockpit trim?
  17. That's the external model's canopy bow. One can either experiment with the clip distances in the flight data.ini, or set the value for the "ShowFromCockpit" declaration (located under the fuselage entry in the model's data.ini file) from TRUE to FALSE. This may also be due to, or exacerbated by, other factors (Cockpit position, Open Cockpit declarations, Cockpit CG Offset issues, etc.),
  18. Holy s**t! I somehow missed the news that he was even sick....
  19. Kev, I run everything off the SF2 folder. Everytime you patch your merged intsall, all of them are updated. Check the dates on the cat and exe files, and you'll see.
  20. The FM is mostly virtual, though the use proper mesh names is important in as far as animations and physical damage modeling is concerned.

    GLOOOOOORIA!

IIRC, It was on Hulu.com two years ago.
  22. Boom n Zoom....anticipate your opponent's move and nail him when he executes it. Even with GregoryP's FM (which makes it more challenging), the Mustang has no issues with AI Spits as long as you don't try turning with them.
