  2. An 30 FPS average is quite playable in a flight simulation. In fact a low FPS in the high teens is still playable. Remember, this is not a first person shooter, where a super high end graphics card will help. The TW series scales quite nicely with CPU speed, and does quite well on my Intel E8400 at 3.6 Ghz. ATI cards have had some issues with this series, right from its inception. Those issues ranged from texture corruption (RWR screens did not display in the first two patches with ATI cards), to inexplicably slow FPS, when certain graphic options were enabled. I have a "mere" GeForce 9600, and I regularly see FPS well over 70 (when I disable refresh rate synchronization), with all graphics options set to their highest, except for horizon draw distance (which is CPU limited).
  3. You must disconnect the POWER cables from all the aforementioned, as they are part of the PSU's harness. You may be able to get away with not disconnecting some, if not all. of the data cables, for access reasons. This usually only applies to PATA ribbon cables. SATA cables are hardly ever in the way.
  4. Yes, you must make the Ukrainian ground objects specific to that nation. All the game engine recognizes is 'Friend' or 'Enemy' in the nations.ini file, so let that be your guide.
  5. All those files are compressed into an archive. In Janes F-15 and F-18, that file was named "SOUNDZ.RWV". The F-18 guys developed an extraction utility, which they christened "F18SoundManager", that also worked in F-15, and may possibly work in FA. You can get it here: http://tsh.war-fighters.net/index.php?opti...0&Itemid=29
  6. That's right. Lieutenant colonels must salute Navy Captains. Keep in mind that the US Navy predates all other services, there was a Colonial Navy before there was an army.
  7. Wrong...... If they escalate that way, they'll wind up with no air force, no air defenses, and probably no navy, inside of two weeks.
  8. The fix was to increase the pitch damper, but depending on the model, that can introduce noticable adverse effects, namely reduced pitch response and limited AoA. There are several factors involved here. The model's cruising airspeed at a given altitude (TW sims use IAS instead of Mach Level for this value). The interrelationship between the tailplane and the wings, the XMac tables for the wings and tailplanes (if applicable). The model's fuel and ordnance loadout, its thrust position, and the patch level or sim version (ie, SF2).
  9. I literally live right under the glide path to a small airport, and I often get to see (and hear) old warbirds coming in to land, so I'm quite familiar with the sound of radials versus inlines. I recall talking with Dave on the phone , once, while out on my back deck. I heard the unmistakable sound of a big inline engine, and looked up in time to see a Mustang making its approach. I asked Dave if he recognized the sound, and he answered "I can't tell you what the aircraft is, but the engine sounds like a Merlin"
  10. Yes there is. It's called the weapons editor.
  11. Yes, as I also remember Planet Patrol and The Big World of Little Adam..... I also remember coming home from Kindergarten one sunny November afternoon, and wondering why they weren't showing cartoons on the local station in their usual afternoon time slot. I asked my Mom, who told me that was because President Kennedy had been assasinated...
  12. Yes, I truly pity you kids who've never had (nor will have) the opportunities and experiences that I've had Seriously, my memory actually scares me, sometimes. I recall discussing an event with my mom ( a car running over a large dog, right in front of our home ), in detail. She was shocked, and told me that I could not have been more than three years old when that event took place.
  13. Go to Youtube, and type Hulu outside of USA
  14. Speaking of Lost in Space, I've just watched the original pilot for only the second time in my life, as it originally aired on September 8th, 1965. I was only seven years old the last time I saw it! To the best of my knowledge, the pilot episode has never aired since then. It's notable because two characters are missing from it, the Robot, and Dr. Smith. You can see it in 480P resolution, on Hulu.com Link to Video
  15. I've got a very bad feeling about this.....
  16. Nike Hercules, inoperable? Hahahahahhaha..... http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?s=&am...st&p=221629
  17. Wrench answered your question. And, only a select few missiles are capable of a 30 nm acquistion range, and that's assuming that your radar isn't being jammed by your intended target.
  18. You cannot modify an existing model to that extent without having access to the source file. In short, only TK can perform this on the "D" model. Armour Dave, creator of '105G addon, lost the source file due to a disk crash. That being said, you may want to check the 105D's lod file, using a hex editor, just to see if TK may have included a bomb bay that he never activated in that model's data.ini file.
  19. All the 3rd party and default F-15s already have them, and in their proper locations.
  20. I suggest that you try the Mirage Factory's Hawks, as they're setup with period-correct missiles and fairly accurate values, right out of the box.
  21. Not yet, as our avionics expert is having a spot of trouble integrating the autonomous angle-of-attack laser desegregator with the ion-photonic accelerometer.
  22. Dave, the Ronald MacDonald of the Mirage Factory.....
