  1. If some those lights are associated with individual nodes, they can be activated in SF2.
  2. Lots of flooding in my neck of the woods, seven miles inland, 90 feet ASL. Luckily, the property manager at my complex suggested that we move our vehicles to high ground..those that didn't heed his warning.....well....
  3. Haven't played with either Le Missioneur or Kreelin's Mission Designer in quite some time. This would be of more assistance than myself: http://combatace.com/files/file/5092-le-missionneur-mission-editor-tutorial/
  4. Use these values...they are closer to reality. Sustainer burnout occurs 30 km downrange, at Mach 4-5 (depending on manuevers). 5. SA-10s have no booster.....the .2 sec "booster" entry is there to emulate the launcher's "cold launch" ejection sequence of the missile, which cannot otherwise be modeled in SF1 or SF2. The launch acceleration in RL is about 10Gs, but that's the initial acceleration load, and not a constant value. The missile (again, in RL) is ejected to an altitude of 15-30 meters before ignition. It also has a thrust vectoring nozzle, which is something that cannot be directly modeled in SF
  6. Here's a link to some footage from this morning: http://www.weather.com/weather/videos/news-41/top-stories-169/raw-irene-in-nags-head-nc-21701#loc=41/169/21704
  7. Here's Youtube footage from Friday evening, a good 8-10 hours before Hurricane Irene made landfall near Cape Lookout, North Carolina.
  8. Michael, There are homes right on the New Jersey coast (in a town called Seabright), that are over 160 years old. They have seen quite a few weather events in their lifetimes, where winds (or wind gusts) have exceeded 130 KPH, have been flooded at least once every few years, and they are still standing. This is literally all that separates the town from the fury of the Atlantic Ocean: The bulk of the town sits on a narrow strip of land, that's less than 100 meters wide, that separates the Atlantic Ocean from the Navesink River. I understand that it's almost impossible for homeowners there to obtain flood insurance
  9. Yes, it's a metric heading. One must use a metric compass in that situation....one that's been adjusted and precision-tuned by a series of well placed blows delivered by a metric hammer...
  10. Well, so far, my area of central NJ has already received over 14 inches of rainfall for just the month of August (the average is just over 4 inches). The ground is pretty saturated, and we're expecting an additional 4 to 8 inches from Irene. As it is, the parking lot in my complex had almost a foot of water from a series of heavy downpours just this past Sunday.... Most of the projected tracks for Irene have the eye coming either through my town, or a few miles to either side of it (I live 7 miles inland from the coast). So you can say that most people around here are somewhat concerned. Oh, and Mako69, Gloria was in September of 1985...I vividly recall having to secure my (then) brand new boat, in advance of that storm. When I checked it a day after the hurricane passed, one mooring line had almost chafed through, but everything was otherwise ok.
  11. Again, did you download anything for SF2 from another site? PM me if you don't understand the question.
  12. Did you download and install mods from *other* websites?
  13. http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2011/08/two_nuclear_reactors_near_eart.html LOWER ALLOWAYS CREEK — Seismic activity resulting from this afternoon's 5.9 magnitude earthquake triggered an "unusual event" at Hope Creek and Salem Nuclear plants, a normal response to such an event, said Lt. Stephen Jones of the New Jersey State Police. There have been no reports of any damage at either facility. The Oyster Creek nuclear power plant in Lacey Township, which is run by Exelon, is currently operating at full power, said spokeswoman Suzanne D’Ambrosio. Plant operators are following “seismic procedures,” which include walking throughout the facility to confirm the earthquake did not damage equipment or affect operations. “We will continue to closely monitor plant equipment should there be any additional seismic activity,” D’Ambrosio said. Exelon declared "unusual events" at its Oyster Creek, Limerick, Peach Bottom and Three Mile Island Unit 1 plants, a classification that is the lowest of the four emergency classifications used in the U.S. nuclear power industry, she added. Federal officials say two nuclear reactors at the North Anna Power Station in Louisa County, Va., were automatically taken offline by safety systems around the time of the earthquake. The Dominion-operated power plant is being run off of four emergency diesel generators, which are supplying power for critical safety equipment. Nuclear Regulatory Commission spokesman Roger Hannah says the agency was not immediately aware of any damage at nuclear power plants in the southeast. NRC officials are still assessing the situation. Louisa County is about 40 miles northwest of Richmond.
  14. Same here in Eastern Monmouth County, lasted over 20 seconds. I understand that forest fires and mudslides are next....
  15. SA-19 is essentially a SAHM with an optical backup, and is not IR-guided. Each Kashtan mounts 8 of them (plus reloads): http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/russia/sa-19.htm The data you've posted is suspect, and not even close to reality. 16. Very Hollywood-esque? I've never seen a SAM in this series (stock or even 3rd party), miss and then reaquire. Here's what is essentially a 40 year old SAM. Notice how it maneuvers while acquiring and chasing down a target. Do you find that too "Hollywood-esque", as well? :
  17. They're all compatible from one title to another (though not necessarily from one series to another). It sounds as if you're missing crucial items, such as the .lod files, which must be extracted from the object.cat file and placed in that aircraft model's folder (that is, if said aircraft is not "native" to that sim).
  18. Happy Birthday, Monty!
  19. No.....lol I've just checked one of my old installs, and found that the Razabam A-6A does NOT have a VA-75 texture, so that's why it loads sans textures. You'll need to edit the "UnitName" entry to match one of the 3 texture sets that the Razbam Intruder A comes with (VA-165 boomers, VMA-121, or VA-52).
  20. Does the texture set name (in the A-6A.ini file) precisely match that of the "UnitName" entry?
  21. The "Screaming Superman" was one of the survivors of the crash. IIRC, He was ejected from the aircraft when it broke up on impact, and witnesses reported seeing him "flying and tumbling through the air, while on fire".
  22. Veeeery nice! It would be cool if we could get similar user-made packages in other languages (Hebrew for SF2I, etc), since SF2 allows for multiple speech packs.
  23. That's fairly simple to do, though in most cases, aircraft models that don't have them are simply paying lip-service to accuracy; chances are that their real life counterparts do not carry them, either. First, you need to add the necessary entries as subsystems of the fuselage (or wings, as may be the case in some instances). In the data.ini for the aircraft in question, locate the Fuselage section, and scroll down to the system entries. We'll add our ECM and Counter Measure Dispensers as systems, in numerical order, like so: SystemName[001]=FuselageFuelCell1 SystemName[002]=FuselageFuelCell2 SystemName[003]=FuselageFuelCell3 SystemName[004]=LeftAirBrake SystemName[005]=RightAirBrake SystemName[006]=Tailhook SystemName[007]=UpperAntiCollisonLight SystemName[008]=LeftEngine SystemName[009]=RightEngine SystemName[010]=DecoyDispenser SystemName[011]=ECM Next, we'll need to add the following declarations somewhere in the data.ini (you can add them after the weapons entries). These determine the ECM's type (Deceptive, Noise, or Dual-mode), its signal strength, and its frequency range, and additional capabilities, such as the ability to jam continuous wave radars. Research is key here... The CM ejectors or dispensers can be added as a single unit, or (as in the case of, say a MiG-29) as multiple ejectors. As the CM ejectors are linked to a visual effect, it obviously behooves one to locate the ejector(s) in a believable location on the airframe. That usually requires a bit of trial and error. Note that all coordinates are in meters and fractions of meters, radiating out in X,Y, and Z coordinates from the center of the model.
