  1. The easiest way, is by using the Third Wire Weapon's Editor....
  2. SAHMs and AHMs can be set up with IFF discriminators.
  3. Actually there are two, 3rd party mission editors available for all SF1-based titles. They are Le Missioneur, and KMD (Kreelin's Mission Designer). Both are in our Download's section.
  4. Is now available, via auto-updater. It should be availbale as a downloadable patch at TW's site, soon.
  5. Duh! Just realized that you were asking about ground targeting. The answer is no, currently, there's no way to designate any type of ground target via radar. The Maxvisible distance value in the target's data.ini is the only variable that one can play with that allows you to target a given object at range.
  6. 80 mile setting, A-6E. Note the ship target returns, low center: 10 mile setting:
  7. Ships show up for me in GM mode, Eric. In the avionics.ini for the aircraft in question, add these settings, if they're not already there: [RadarDisplay] ImageFadeTime=2.0 [RadarDisplayGround_Map] ImageSize=12.0 or whatever value suits your fancy
  8. Please tell us exactly what you did during the conversion process. You may have skipped one or more steps, making your issue all but impossible to diagnose without that information.
  9. Paint.net seamlessly performs the conversion from .tga to .dds, as simply as choosing to save a .tga to a .dds file, from it's dropdown menu.
  10. Stary, I'd say all those entries are meant for the "free action view" that's toggled when the player's aircraft is destroyed.
  11. The default FE terrain comprises a smaller "world", so there's less load on the CPU. However, SF2 is even faster, as it will utilize every core of a multicore CPU.
  12. Smooth move, Dave. Thanks to the pinned uploads, you've made it all but impossible for moderators to approve new uploads (as they are now buried behind all the pinned uploads). What will you do for an encore? Try gargling with peanut-butter?
  13. And before you dismiss the above as crude, vulgar, or lacking in sophistication, please keep in mind that when Ferruccio Lamborghini picked a name for his premier supercar back in 1971 (the prototype was first introduced to the public during the Geneva Auto Show that year) , he chose "Countach", which in the Modenese dialect means, roughly, "Da F&ck!"
  14. LOL....."DF" is a NYC, Brooklyn, and North Jersey way of expressing "WTF!" However, there are some actions that must be performed whilst expressing oneself in this manner. One must first stand with their legs roughly shoulder width apart, and begin with both arms hanging at one's sides. One then shrugs their shoulders rapidly and vigorously, while thrusting their forearms out and up-wards, simultaneously shouting "Da F&ck!" during the process. Failure to perform the maneuver in the above manner immediately and indelibly marks one as an outsider, subjecting them to scorn, ridicule, and possibly expulsion from the greater NY-NJ area.
  15. There's practically no difference in the manner in which folders for default TW aircraft are handled (or how they appear) in the last patch, over how they were handled in the original release. The only change is that the default textures now reside within their respective catalog files. Mods are applied exactly the way one did with the original release (or with subsequent patches).
  16. In late August of 2001, the agency that I was contracting with, notified me of two projects that were starting in early September. One was with the Port Authority of NY & NJ (working in the WTC), and the other was with a firm in Parsippany, NJ. While the project with the PA was the more convenient of the two (it involved no driving, just a 20 minute train ride from my home), I declined it because it was a just 90-day project, and because I'd be paying taxes to NJ, NY, and NYC at the same time. That decision may have saved my life... I started working in Parsippany on the morning September 10, 2001. My job was to spool printed receipts and invoices from the various hotels and car rental franchises owned by the parent company, to an IBM high-speed printer (which was the size of a small car). One of the franchises was located in the WTC complex, and I was told to expect the print jobs from that location no later than 0900 every morning. My "office" was located in the basement of an office building...and I seldom saw anyone during the course of my day, other than the clerks who came to pick up the boxes of receipts that I printed for their departments. The second day I was there, I noticed that the print job from the WTC had not arrived on time. I tried calling the WTC office, and heard an unexpected message" "All Circuits are currently busy, please try your call again"....what the hell? Just before 0930, I tried calling the office that was expecting those reciepts....no answer. I tried calling my supervisor's office....no answer. I decided to go to the coffee room and make myself a cup of coffee, and try my supervisor again. The coffee room was empty....unusual, as 0930-1000 AM was the normal break time. depending on one's shift (my shift started at 0630). As I was returning to my office, I ran into a co-worker, whom I asked "Where is everyone?" He looked at me as if I'd grown a third-eye on my forehead, and told me that everybody in the building was in the cafetorium, watching CNN on the large projection screen TV...."a plane has hit the World Trade Center!" I walked into the Cafetorium just in time to see the strike on the South Tower.... Needless to say, not much work got done that day...and the roads were eerily empty at 1430 when I left for the evening. As I crested a hill on Rt 24 near Florham Park, NJ...I saw the pillar of smoke from the WTC for the first time. It was clearly visible from 25 miles/40 KM away.
  17. Most third-party models pay more than a modicum of lip-service to realism (wherever possible). That may not be part of (real) the F-18s display, or it may not be represented in exactly that manner. What does the readme for the model say?
  18. No, the water stopped a foot short of my deck, held for eight hours, and then (slowly) began receding. Deja Vu? http://www.nj.com/weather-guy/index.ssf/2011/08/an_earthquake_an_a_hurricane_d.html
  19. The display in the SF2 manual is for the Thirdwire F-15A, and does not necessarily apply to 3rd-party models.
  20. Jonathan, I find your video reviews to be exceptionally well done. You should be getting paid for this
  21. Fast Cargo would be the man to ask about that one...
  22. NWS/AR is a set of indexer lamps that are used during in-flight refueling. The panel should have three lamps, marked RDY, AR/NWS, and DISC. Only thing that comes to mind regarding "BNDT". is that it may be an abreviation for "Bandit"...is the lamp located near the radar display?
  23. Nice aftermath for surfers, though: http://videos.nj.com/star-ledger/2011/08/video_pro_surfers_take_to_wave.html
  24. Holy s**t! This is down in Cape May, NJ, during the height of the storm: "Saturday: Ed Johnston, owner of The Cove Restaurant near Sunset Pavilion, in Cape May, watches as the water pounds against the dunes and jetty next to his business, as the storm becomes more intense. (Saed Hindash/The Star-Ledger)"
  25. The day after Irene: A number of people in my complex awoke to discover that they've received promotions from car owners to U-boat commanders this morning. The forward torpedo, err, laundry room had a bit of water in it. Notice the high tide mark on the outside wall...scary A pair of U-boats that failed the water-tight integrity test. Well, technically the Toyota is an I-boat....both cars were flooded to the tops of their doors.
