  1. Whatever....it's still not right
  2. Kevin, It has absolutely nothing to do with its arrestor hook. After carefully observing an AI carrier approach and landing, I realized that the FM needs revamping, as the model's diving for the deck. It in fact does so to such an extent, that it's registering more than 4 degrees of negative pitch on debug. I've successfully trapped aboard with the SuE, by coming in a bit nose high, just above a stall, and then flattening out at the last instant, greasing the mains onto the deck.
  3. They should match, as any issues caused by reducing resolution on the bumpmaps versus the texture files will be all too obvious, especially on lines that "wrap" around corners or radiuses.
  4. It's Skynet!!!!!!!
  5. And the phaser "rounds" are weightless in the gun data. Another issue was that I could not get the effect to work if I set the muzzle velocity to the speed of light , so I had to settle for a measly 10,000 m/sec Video: A flight of Vipers intercept an unknown contact over Central Europe during the 1980s It's kind of hard to kill something that's protected by deflector shields
  6. It's a Sketchup model that was ported over to LOD by Brain32. As soon as we receive permission from the model's creator, we'll make it available for download.
  7. Following a warp signature trail, the IKS Klothos enters a dimesional vortex, that was undoubtedly created by the passage of a Federation star-ship. The Klothos's crew now find themselves over 300 Earth years in the past, and deep within the atmosphere of an M-class planet... D7.wmv
  8. Multiple textures and bumpmaps are the way to go. For example, while 6 1024x1024 textures and bumpmaps may total up to more than a single 2048 x 2048, they have less of an impact on systems resources than the single, higher resolution texure/bumpmap!
  9. I worked for a state transportation agency, and that pretty much sums up how they operated. They seemed to be more interested in perpetuating and protecting a bureaucracy, then in actually providing a service to the public.
  10. That appears to have nothing to do with graphics settings, and is more than likely caused by a corrupted or improperly formatted tga file.

    Steve Jobs

He, like Bill Gates, was a marketing genius.
  12. Well, if that's the case, you should start working on textures for the MF F-14 series, ASAP
  13. I'm sorry, but by the age of ten, the baby-coddling should be long over. When kids of my generation reached that milestone, we were expected to pick ourselves up after a hard tackle knocked the wind out of us, and dust ourselves off in time for the next huddle or scrimmage. If another team beat us out of either sheer talent or dogged determination, then we tried just that much harder to hand their asses to them the next time we encountered them on the field. Teamwork means that everyone involved pulls their own weight to achieve a defined goal. Anything else, is new-age defeatist PC nonsense.
  14. Holy crap! Lucky that it held together. Look at the creases in the airframe, just aft of the wingbox!
  15. Michael, the term in English is lead computing. To emulate the Fresco's ASP-4N Sneg (Snow) radar gunsight, add the following lines to the MiG-17A or F avionics.ini (you may have to create one): [AvionicsData] Name=ASP-4N Sneg GunsightRangingOnly=FALSE RangeUnit=Meters TrackRange=2800.0 ScanBeamAngle=10.0 MinAltitude=1828.8 In MiG-17A or F cockpit.ini: [GunsightFront] HasGunsight=TRUE GunsightMilSize=50 GunsightName=XXX.tga AGGunsightName=XXX.tga LeadComputing=TRUE MinLeadRange=213.36 MaxLeadRange=2743.2 DefaultLeadRange=300 MaxDepression=250 DefaultDepression=50 I don't know if all those "extra" parameters are present in SFP1 avionics code with the 2008 patch. They are present in SF2, however

  17. His parents should sue the crap out of the league, and their idiot officials. What's the point of team sports anyhow? He is setting an example for the other members of the league to aspire to.

    Killer Elite

Figured I'd clear the air, as I'm also of the opinion that most remakes blow goats

    Killer Elite

It has nothing to do with "The Killer Elite", which was the working title of the 1970's film. Killer Elite may (or may not ) be based on fact, and takes place during the early 1980s: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Feather_Men
  20. Rumor has it that the AIM-9X has signature recognition, so flares will not spoof it.
  21. I live in a smallish town (population 1,500), in an apartment complex that's literally surrounded by stables and small farms. Moved here from the city almost six years ago, and have not had a moment's regret.

    Killer Elite

Just came back from watching Killer Elite at the local cinema, and thought I'd let you all know that it is definitely worth watching. Great, believable, edge of the seat action, minimal political BS (by today's standards, anyhow), and a fantastic story line. Jason Statham and Clive Owen were more than up to the task, and Robert De Niro's role (though somewhat minimal) was memorable.
