Strike Fighters 2 Screenshots
macelena replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Screen Shots
Wrench, could you tweak the St Andrew´s cross, please? IRL, it was slightly assymetrical, following the tailplane sweep. I don´t know if it would be much trouble, but it would be cool. Nevermind if you are too busy with the KAW -

Not dive bombing. Level bombing, Dive bombing, toss bombing, orbit bombing, photo bombing, glitter bombing. TV Homing, GPS, Laser designation, CCIP, Diane, rule of thumb, KamiKaze, prayers. Each one has to figure out his way, wichever fits you best. So yes, dive bombing. Best way. -
It´s kind of sad. I´m all in for a no fly zone and erasing any loyalist aircraft from the sky and such, but while it sound strange, i feel sorry for those aboard. It is not like videos of taliban guerrilla or iraqi insurgents getting strafed by Apaches, in the wich you think to yourself "wow, sucks to be you, but go rot in hell". I doubt they were doing anything good and i´m glad they came down, but still i feel sorry for them.

Truly, adding Kynda and Kresta class cruisers to the Soviet fleet in 1979 makes it much more interesting :D -

'Passive radar' could render stealth planes obsolete
macelena replied to Brain32's topic in Military and General Aviation
As far as i figured out, the big step into the next generation of combat aircraft should have an implemented suit of sensors, and processors to provide the pilot, either remote or aboard the aircraft, with a comprehensive tactical presentation, based on the data received from all sensors, after the computers makes up an hypothesys with all the data collected by it´s whole sensors-datalinks, insead of different displays overloading the pilot with information. Different passive-active configurations, wich would however require an extensive work by the intelligence community to get the data on any potential enemy weapons system. Basically, a greater integration of information within the own aircraft and any datalinked systems. The aircraft would have, of course, different degrees of stealthyness, powerplant, performances, weaponry etc, but it would be throught those systems that future air combat should be decided given the lethality of modern AA weapons. As allways has been in air combat, first to see, first (at last) to kill. -
That it sounds British in a naval unit nomenclature context?

Identical to the AIM-9B. The early model of both were basically the same missile. Israelis used Egyptian captured Atolls in their Mirages, and the Finnish used Sidewinders in their MiG-21F13. In fact, you could use parts of both in the same missile and it would work, or al least that´s what i´ve read over there

Personally, i was the worst English student in my class, teacher said i had an Texan-Scottish accent. We all couldn´t be Cockneys. It was worse, however, to learn all the verbs in French and so. For what i´m concerned, English is the easiest, most simple language to learn for a foreigner. As a side note, my grandad was in the Spanish Navy during the Korean War, being sent to Long Beach and San Diego to crew a minesweeper we were getting transferred by the USN (Steel men in wooden ships, to get rid of all the UXOs and mines after our war and WW2). He was amazed by two things: the US logistics (specially being an Spanish Civil War child sent to a US wartime naval base) and by the fact that all his lessons in English were useless, as having been in New York, Long Beach and San Diego, he allways found somebody speaking Spanish.

tomorrow it will make two weeks...fingers crossed lol. I doubt it will be big as a step as EXP2 with the mission editor, but only for a few new planes...if it is for Europe 79, it could add not only all those french aircraft we are expecting, but some sought after modern opposition, like Su-17s, and in my dreams, a Foxbat
