In 1948 there was no Warshaw Pact. It was founded 1955. But i think a Soviet, Polish and Czech alliance would face the western forces in a 1948 scenario. Soviet planes: Yak-9, La-9 and La-11, Yak-15, MiG-9 as fighter force. The MiG-15 was not operational in 1948. In late 1949 the first units got this bird.

Air offensive and Ground Offensive
Gepard replied to JonathanRL's topic in Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
Try to set the supply level of each soviet air unit below the level of SupplyForOffensive= -
Setting of the exact date of airraids is not easy. But setting the area of attack you can do with a line like this in the campaign_data.ini AirOffensive[001].FocusArea=Hanoi what means, that in the first phase of the campaign targets in Hanoi area will attacked.

Here a short preview terrain. - all airfields set on the map, but they are still only skeletons (no shelters etc.pp) - air Defence networks set for Denmark and East Germany - ground combat only at 2 beachheads on danish islands is made for WOE, use stock GermanyCE terrain as basic. 2 new tiles, others to make a better coastline will follow. Its still a lot to do. To install simply unzip intp your WOE/terrain folder Ostseeausgang.rar

I have tried it. But is does not work for First Gen sims. Unfortunatly.

Not in 1946. At this time the people were tired of war. 1948 it was a little bit different.

This picture taken from site pilot.strizhi.info shows the major root of the FC-1 JF-17 programm. Its the MiG project 33 from early, mid 80th.

A small status report: all danish, swedish, westgerman, eastgerman, polish and soviet airbases are placed now on the map. Towns are placed for all nations. Sweden is set as Neutral, dont worry that the swedish targets are shown in red. They are not used by the red side. And for the case, that someone thinks that the red sausages of Denmark are only a rumour: Skol!!!

late 70th, early 80th and then MiG-29 and Su-29? They came mid to late 80th. If you take the MiG-23 in account you also must say which version. MiG-23MS you can forget MiG-23MF only as interceptor with their medium range missiles usefull MiG-23ML now it becomes a good rival MiG-23MLD is a deadly beast Same with the MiG-21. Between the MiG-21PF and the MiG-21Bison are miles. A Bison is extremly deadly, while a MiG-21PF is nearly useless

Rafale wins Indian MMRCA contract
Gepard replied to ghostrider883's topic in Military and General Aviation
I accept that India favors the french Rafale to have a second iron in the fire, to become not to much depend on Russia. But not that the Rafale is cheaper than the MiG's. That the MiG's were out of business was caused by the russian inability to hold the timeframe in the past. The MiG-21Bison was far behind the schedule and the Varjag carrier is it too. So i think India is hoping to get the Rafale in a more reliable timeframe. -
Me too Have a very old computer at work. Operates with Win3.1 Stoneage of computertime. And its true, searching, tracking and sinking a carrier battle groupe is a cool job in "Harpoon"

Rafale cheaper than the russian birds? -
As far as i know is there no other way than the Basesize parameter. Unfortunatly. In the campaign you can assigna a squadron to an certain airfield, but not in the random generated sinle missions.

creating era specific and multi game installs
Gepard replied to Tony_Spike's topic in General Discussion
For first gen sims it is better to make separate installations. -
There was an early MiG-21 study with F-104 style wings and tail. Was canceled. One model you can see today in the Mikoyan Museum in Moscow.

There has someone very often played the very old computer game "Harpoon". Its exactly how you must act in this game. But in reality during cold war each single american carrier battle groupe was shadowed by soviet submarines and spy ships and satellites. Its not as easy as to play "Harpoon".

To ask your question, Derk, it is the typical special meal in Denmark to eat the red sausages. It has the size of a "Wiener Würstchen" as we call it in Germany, or a Hot Dog for our american friends, (Excurs: by the way, the name Hot Dog is a not very good translation from the german language. In the very old time in some areas of Germany the "Wiener Würstchen" was called "Dackelwurst", dont know why, And when german emigrants went to America, they took the "Dackelwurst" on their travel. But beyond the big pont, nobody knows a "Dackelwurst", so it was not a good selling point. So they translated it word by word into "Dachshoundsausages". But this was to long and so it became the name "Hot Dog. Excurs finished) And to come back to Denmark. There they make red "Hot Dogs". Dont know why. But i think its funny. And by the way, i love Denmark. Egon Olsen for ever!
