Sorry to here that... As a fellow IT professional I feel for you, so instead of doing what they should be doing and sacking the quango's or whatever they are called now they sack the hard working people at the bottom of the pile disgusts me to be honest. I got lucky as I got my job at the wrong side of 30 and then they moved me out of the UK to Vienna... so have hope I know its tough to hear but have hope.

As to the above all correct the HDMI is a full spectrum link handles sound and audio... With the Cards as stated both must be the same. Also the PSU must be uprated to a higher spec normally go for around 250watts above just to make sure.

Must admit I used to get decent frame rates below 60fps and it all seemed to run smoothly on my old PC... only time I had issues was when I turned up to the max and had a few slow moments with the Vietnam Mod with SAM's lighting off everywhere...

There is remote access software out there which you can use... but I take it you don't want him to know about it, just his PC shutting down or do you want him to see its being done by you ? Must admit 20 years ago I would suggest Norton... At present on my PC Win7 64bit I am being brave foolish pick one and using Windows own... microsoft security essentials and I do believe others here are also using it... and it comes free (for now)...
