Yep... As said targeting pod mechanics are pretty abstract, nothing like Jane's Hornet or EF2000...

To answer your about LGBs you can be out of the gimbal limits of the pod and still hit the target. Unfortunately targeting pod modeling isn't a priority so it's very abstracted.

It's when you move the airplane the head "bobs", moves around, so if you turn to the left, your "head" moves to the left, and so on. Worked okay in LOMAC but it gets annoying.
