  2. It's not so much the design but the colors that's the issue really, though looking at it I should be able to get reasonable colors.
  3. Well... looks like I'm waiting still... no rush now.
  4. ace888 I'll try and get the layer I used in the Thunderwarrior later on today. That's what I used as well as what was mentioned for the texturelist.ini
  5. I'll see if Twobobs or Afterburner decals has something floating around, looks cool though.
  6. Me: F/A-18F EPE with 2 x AIM-9X 6 x AIM-120 Opposition: KF1-HAMMER with 8 x 18km missile and 12 x 240 km missile Looks like a lot huh? Fact is this bout with the KF1-Hammer is a lot easier with a higher maneuverability jet than most other ones... But that doesn't mean it's going to be easy. For six minutes I spent energy circling this beast so no screenshots tonight, sorry. I managed to get a lock and get an AIM-120 shot to save my 9x's, which was intended to get the HAMMER to change it's logic for a 9X shot but no joy. Suffice to say that even with the enhanced maneuverability, it was only luck that he didn't come around and gun me or missile me down. However after that six minutes it wore itself out and I managed to level off and shoot it down with a 9X shot. Takeaways. Needless to say before, the HAMMER is very maneuverable and has a whole lot of energy to expend. As mentioned it was pure luck that he didn't gun me or missile me. The thing is, the limited seeker cone of it's missiles essentially negates missile use during the knife fight so as long as you can hold out and prevent it from gaining a good angle then I would say you're golden. And if you're looking for that kill then hopefully you have that fuel, as I started off with around... say 16,000+lbs of fuel and ended up with 14,000. So not too bad but that requires burner and energy management in order to come out on top. So if you got the time then just make sure it doesn't maneuver itself for a gun or missile kill, because due to that limited cone, it'll do it's damndest to get on your six amd well... gun you down or get you with a missile kill.
  7. Me: Fenrir with AIM-9X with 6 x AIM-120 Opposition: F/A-18F EPE with 2 x AIM-9X and 6 x AIM-120 Having test flown the Fenrir (yes it's an Ace Combat jet well done by cadetBRA) one of the concerns is that it moves fast... and real fast, I think on the order of Mach 5 or some high number. The problem is that it moves too fast, which is what you need to be aware of when dealing with highly maneuverable opponents. You need to keep the throttle down in order to be successful in the knife fight with this aircraft. For the most part the Hornet kept me busy by weaving and me almost sticking nose in it's butt. After an energy circle I went vertical and rolled into him and had a nice calm moment where I also could have put one in his tailpipe. If you keep your speed low you can stay in the fight and not get stuck with trying to get an enemy on your six. If not you'll overshoot and end up an IRM target. After overshooting him he plugged me with a 9X and after I tried to shoot him with my own I realized hey... I was dead. Though in all honesty my "return" 9X went stoopid because the Hornet moved out of the way. Takeaways: Simple speed management when dealing with maneuverable aircraft. Remember you go faster so consequently your turn radius will be more limited and it'll be harder to get out of once he's on your six and has a heater headed for your tailpipe. Don't get me wrong the Fenrir is of course well done and very nice to look at but again... watch the throttle. Recommendation is like 20% though for tight turning it handles fine even on full burner, but keep in mind don't hit full burner while in a straight line as on full burner it'll give you the energy you need, only when pulling tight turns.
  8. Me: F/A-18F EPE with 2 x AIM-9X and 6 x AIM-120 Opponent: PAK-FA with at least 2 x R-73 and I think it was 6 x R-77, it's been awhile... Yes it's been a bit since I've done one but after a warm up session with another F/A-18F EPE it was sorta time to get back into things. Started off with the PAK-FA in front of me and it started the nominal weave to get me to overshoot. It managed to and I caught the radar on the RWR but as far as I could tell no launch. After dancing with it a bit I would have to say offhand that it was... timid. At this point I had come out of the vertical with it heading generally west. At this point I could have taken a shot with either the 9X or taken an AIM-120 shot and gotten a kill. However I decided to see if I could get more out of it. After a near miss I came around and after an aborted energy circle I managed to get my nose on him and when I pulled my nose past him I took the shot, with the 9X easily shooting him down. Takeaways... Not sure since I was in a better aircraft with the PAK-FA more "realistically" set as far as engine power and weight. However with the better capabilities of the F/A-18F I had better control and was generally able to keep my nose on him, and not use my afterburner. Though I think the AI honestly needs to be slightly better in order to be "interesting" But it has been awhile so I need to shake off the rust as far as my evaluations though...
  9. You have to import those weapons in the file to your weapons list in order for them to show up. To do that you have to open your weapons editor and select "Import weapons" and then find where you put the text file. Then if it's done correctly the Super Hornet weapons will be added to your list of available weapons and you should see them in-game.
  10. Nice.... can't wait for the Wyvern to show up though... that's what I really want to fly.
  11. It's "FRIENDLY", "ENEMY" and "NEUTRAL" which may be the key for that but then again you won't have any flights, just that airport not available.
  12. You have to use the 32-bit version only right now. If you're using the Win7 version there should be a Program Files(x86) and that would be the 32-bit version, put that in the File Formats folder and run the 32-bit exe.
  13. I think it's the plain simple fact that in SF2 you can't designate an airfield "Helicopters Only" and the lack of helicopters as well.
  14. I remember wpnssgt was attempting to make one though for SF2 but so far nothing yet...
  15. Just rename the files if you have to and use it on that version... other than filenames they're all mapped the same...
  16. The best recommendation for taking screenies during whatever you're doing is to just pause it. It becomes critical true when doing stuff but overall you should be able to pickup the stick from where you left off and get back into it. I've had to do that occasionally for my DACT reports. Besides it gives me a mental pause for the fight and allows you to explore the angles for max effect. Other than that man good report!
  17. There's a Parani Desert Splinter in the SF1 section I did a couple years ago.
