  1. Ahh well... that's fine, I'm sticking with yours for now, it's just beautiful
  2. I've been lazy on upgrading to Win7 due to the fact that without SP2 Vista, my computer is stable, but good to hear when I do get Win7
  3. Talk to JAT81500, he's working on it as I sent him a model.
  4. You can use CatPack to extract the VietnamSEA.ini and the IsraelME.ini and edit them accordingly Or download eburger68's Vietnam Ground War Expansion for SF2V and knock it out that way.
  5. still even the default one is good, so it's hilly enough for my tastes
  6. [AllowedDates] StartDate=8/2/1964 EndDate=4/30/2012 It'd be in your main ini file, such as this taken from my "VietnamSEA.ini" file. Adjust it as above and you'll get the usable years.
  7. Well nobody said that game logic versus real world logic totally matches. Overall if you're not paying attention anyways the SA-10 will snatch you up. Any conscious thought of where it is, and you have a reasonable chance of success. Guess until real pure pursuit logic works itself out, or is correctly modeled, you'll have to deal with it.
  8. That is a big problem.. and come to mention it, I noticed a flight of Escort planes make it through GermanyCE without getting picked off by SA-10s (however were shot down by other SAM types) despite the numerous "SAM Launch! SAM Launch!" calls. Guess it's time to find an SA-10 site and get shot at.. Actually looks strange for a intercept geometry. It theoretically could be that the missile is acting like it's "level" and trying to intercept you the old fashioned way rather than making a direct line of sorts to you (as a VLS missile should). So it could be game logic that's throwing it off, as it's trying to lead you but it's not making the intercept due to the initial launch trajectory. And with a turn rate of 20g, it should be able to make the turn towards you easy. You jamming by the way? or are you not?
  9. No worries man, I haven't really messed with viewlist.ini editing other to adjust the zoom level on the cockpit view.
  10. True enough, but I'm not giving the enemy a mission kill either
  11. Yup it is, how do think I figured out how do defeat the SA-10? It's not hard at all. Just create a custom mission, go to where a known location is and rock and roll. Besides, you can visually spot the missile trail (on a good day and that looks like one to me) and do your best to evade it.
  12. Looks like he remembered the position of his aircraft versus the missile's location. Pretty easy to figure out.
  13. Well despite my fears, and some tweaking, it runs quite good. There's a little stutter so far (no aircraft, just me flying around for a "feel" of the terrain). Still prefer Jan Tuma's HFD, but still the terrain is very nice
  14. Low Altitude Training (and mid altitude)
  15. Also if you got enough to do it, fire one, slow down, and if it picks off one, fire another to get the other. I'd use common sense though, if you pick off a Sidenet and a Shilka is there, may not be worth the missile.
  16. Having spent a good wonderful year in Afghanistan, COIN isn't difficult (but don't get me wrong, it is aggravating), you pretty much have to understand how they fight, and hit them back, fast and hard. Having been on the ground, it's not going to make any difference whether it's an A-10 or an F-35 dropping a bomb, it still is the same fight. And the reason we suck at COIN is people are stuck in the conventional mindset. The world changes, you have to change with it. So the loss of two CVBGs? Yeah it'll make an impact some places, but overall, the F-35 being cut back isn't the end of the world, especially since now we're dealing with dudes wearing turbans in some valley. The Russian threat? Always been out there, and always will be, along with China, India, etc. But seriously, if Russia can't afford it's own toys, not likely the whole world will be flying Flankers with ultra maneuverability with advanced whatchamajigs either.
  17. It depends on the mission though. Even though you're not dogfighting, you're bound to pull a lot of G's (evading terrain, SAMs, etc.), so it does sound plausible, but not realistic and put the same amount (or more, remember you got bombs on the plane?) of stresses on the aircraft as if it was dogfighting.
  18. I'll download that tomorrow, very nice, reminds me of LOMAC... Finishing up at the Range.
  19. You have to copy the data from the readme, open the weapondata.ini remembering to keep the numbering in sequential order. Save the ini file, and open the weapons editor, then click on Save, and after its done, close the program. Open whatever game you're playing and it should show up.
  20. Let's not delve into politics.
  21. It'd be a good Asian campaign fo sho, though more like Vietnam vs. China...
  22. PM rusty_hawk and he may be able to do it for a fee.
