  1. RNZAF air combat wing was disbanded in 2001. These repaints, along with the F-16C/D Blk 52+ at the top of the page, represent the possibilities if a competition for a re-activated air combat wing aircraft was announced tomorrow- one can dream! lol
  2. The Gripen came a close second but the F-16C/D was selected based on a 'mates rates' price with training package (pilots + ground support) from the US: Also in the running were 2nd hand BAE GR.9 Harriers from the UK; 2nd hand upgraded General Dynamics/ Lockheed Martin F-16AM/BM; 2nd hand McDonnell Douglas/ Boeing F-4E Phantom II's upgraded by Israel Aerospace Industries; 2nd hand upgraded McDonnell Douglas/ Boeing F/A-18A/B Hornets; And on the wish list were the Boeing F/A-18E Super Hornets; And the Chief of the Airforce's wet dream, the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II: Eliminated early on was a rotor wing CAS only option, the Boeing AH-64D Apache:

  4. Not quite I'm after the frequency range of each different type of RWR eg the AN/ALR-67(V)2 detects, identifies and displays radars and radar-guided weapon systems in the C to J frequency range (0.5 to 20 GHz). I was just hoping someone knew a link to a site that might have listed them all in one place etc.
  5. Is there a reference list somewhere of what the detection frequencies are for the different Radar Warning Receiver models out there? Cheers, Dan
  6. Look in the decal.ini file and compare the coordinates of the stars and bars decal to the coordinates of the number decal. Figure out what the difference is on the Y axis (which will be the first number) then add half of that difference to the stars and bars Y coordinate. Your stars and bars will now be closer to the number decal by half the distance. This should give you an idea of the scale your working with when you change the coordinate. Its mostly trial and error but you will get the hang of it and figure out roughly how much increasing or decreasing a coordinate will move the decal on the model. After each edit you need to fire up the game and see what effect it has had- eg how much the decal has moved etc.
  7. Nice work, I look foward to the finished result!
  8. Does anyone have an AGM-119 Penguin without the folding wings? Cheers, Dan.
  9. The idea behind having the all rwr.list files with the same name is when you need to add a new radar to the list you can copy and past the edited list into the main aircraft file of every aircraft with a rwr.list file. Yes you have to have extracted and edited a handful of stock avionics files to point to it. However I think you will find you will be updating the rwr.list fairly regularly so to edit every single diffrently named rwr.list file in your mods folder will be a lot of work to do on a regular basis, given how many add on aircraft most people have. For that reason I think we will be doing ourselves a big favour by standardising all our add on aircraft to use the generic "rwr.lst" file so we can update them easily on a regular basis when a new aircraft or ground object with a radar is uploaded. There is only a hand full of stock aircraft with a rwr.list so extracting their avionics files and changing the one line only takes 5 minutes. You just have to keep an eye out when a patch is released in case that particular avionics file was updated. But that doesn't happen nearly as often as the rwr.list file needs updating.
  10. I think most of them will be happy flying fast jets for the RAAF, RAF or wherever else snapped them up when they got the old 'don't come Monday' letter from Helen Clark

  13. Royal New Zealand Air Force No. 75 Squadron 'Kiwi Red' Aerobatics team 1997- 1990 operating the last few original A-4K Skyhawks before their project Kahu modernisation. The aircraft they used were a mix of ex Australian Navy A-4G models brought up to the A-4K standard or original RNZAF A-4K models that have had thier (empty) avionics hump removed and Euro 1 paint job in preparation for modernisation.
  14. Never mind I had the cockpit detail on high not unlimited like I thought! lol Sorry my mistake
  15. Anyone know why the Kestrel cockpit shows up in low resolution in the game when my settings are on max and the cockpit textures are high (2048x2048)? Cheers, Dan

  17. Cheers for the help but unfortunately it didn't quite do the trick. It is the joystick I want to remove and doing what you wrote above just made it lay down horizontally pointing forwards?? Here is the original cockpit.ini lines for the joystick I want to remove: [stickRoll] Type=CONTROL_STICK_ROLL NodeName=SideStickBase MovementType=ROTATION_Y Set[01].Position=-15.0 Set[01].Value=-1.0 Set[02].Position=15.0 Set[02].Value=1.0 [stickPitch] Type=CONTROL_STICK_PITCH NodeName=SideStick MovementType=ROTATION_X Set[01].Position=15.0 Set[01].Value=-1.0 Set[02].Position=-15.0 Set[02].Value=1.0
  18. Is there a way to make a node disappear in the cockpit using the cockpit.ini file the same way you can for a node on an aircraft lod? eg to do it with an aircraft .lod you add the following to the data.ini file: [AircraftData] Component[xxx]=no_nose_ecm // Mods ------------------------------------------------------ [no_nose_ecm] ParentComponentName=Nose ModelNodeName=nose_ecm DestroyedNodeName=nose_ecm DetachWhenDestroyed=TRUE HasAeroCoefficients=FALSE
  19. Cheers guys I had a feeling that might be the case so i think I will give it a miss.
  20. I've only ever played the Strike Fighters 2 series but have been looking into Yankee Air Pirate 2. So I was wondering how it compared to SF2 since it's based on WOV in terms of game play, graphics etc what do you guys think? Cheers, Dan.
  21. Does anyone know if there is a Enhanced Laser Guided Training Round (E-LGTR) or SCALPEL (Small Contained-Area Laser Precision Energetic Load) bomb floating around in a download somewhere? Cheers, Dan.
