  1. None of them are a patch on the F-16 - and where's the Spitfire - sorry no vote
  2. The RWR will pick up airbourne radars - although in SF1 its VERY basic compared to whats in SF2 . Also note that it will only pick up RADARs - thats the radar on another jet or a radar on a SAM /AAA site etc - no radar guided missiles in this period have their own active radars so cant be picked up. in the MiG-25x_avionics.ini file check for similar to this [TextureData] RadarTexture=Cabina/RP-21.bmp RWRTexture=Cabina/RWR.bmp ....... [RWR] Type=3_RING AirSearchTexture=Cabina/RWR1.tga AirTrackTexture=Cabina/RWR2.tga AirLockTexture=Cabina/RWR3.tga GroundSearchTexture=Cabina/RWR1.tga GroundTrackTexture=Cabina/RWR2.tga GroundLockTexture=Cabina/RWR3.tga SearchPosition=0.0 TrackPosition=0.4 LockPosition=01.3715 SearchSize=0.01 TrackSize=0.315 LockSize=1.0 SearchFlash=TRUE SearchFlashRate=0.4 TrackFlash=TRUE TrackFlashRate=0.2 LockFlash=TRUE LockFlashRate=0.1 TrackSound=MiGTrack.wav LockSound=MiGLock.wav [RWRTrackSound] Priority=HIGH 3DSound=FALSE Looped=TRUE NumBuffers=1 [RWRLockSound] Priority=HIGH 3DSound=FALSE Looped=TRUE NumBuffers=1 In the MiG-25x_data.ini check [DetectSystem] ...... HasRWR=TRUE <---------- Good luck - but dont feel too down - you have picked probably the hardest jet to fly in combat - in reality its avionics and missiles were no match for the IAF F-15As - thats one reason it was such a turkey shoot for Israel.
  3. Haha - havent got one of those yet - would like the Spitfire one tbh - would be an improvement on my old Ford Fiesta manuals that I spent hours covering in oil!
  4. Congrats Spain - Guess I was right after all! The ref probably missed the karate kick - the Ref also had a dilema of not sending off too may players in a WC final after booking nearly the whole team in the first 10 mins
  5. You are kidding me - gonna have to try that out
  6. Its been said before: Yeah, all you f***ers wish you flew the Viper Probably since the time you wore a diaper We got every mission that you do And we fly 'em all better than you Yeah, all you f***ers wish you flew the Viper 'Cause we're single seat, multi-role We can fly right up our own asshole Yeah, all you f***ers wish you flew the Viper
  7. Are you running the Oct 2008 version of WOI? 1. This has probably been changed in later patches - Make sure you always hit WP2 on take off - other than that WP 9 and 10 cannot be selected you must fly to WP 8 (thats your landing pattern). Regarding the ship - it does that with a non stock terrain/campaign - basically entries need to be added for ships manually for each target in <terrain>_targets.ini into the <terrain>_movement.ini 2. What date is this squadron set to start? 3. so you added a MiG-23MS to the campaign and have replaced the stock one? what does the squadron entry look like in the campaigns_data.ini? 4. So you edited the wav file and put it back into sounds with the same name?
  8. And dont come back!! :salute: :salute:
  9. So sorry to hear that XRay - great Tribute
  10. Was probably more impressed by the credit card sized solar powered calculator I had about 25 years ago. Why has it taken them so long to get a powered glider airbourne - and whats the likelyhood of an airliner ever doing 500kts on Solar power?
  11. Ace Typhoon shot there
  12. Battlefield Vietnam in 2004 had a basic implementation as well - get in a jet, fly around (F-4/A-7/Cobra/Chinook/MiG-21/17/Hind, eject and carry on fighting in the jungle - couldnt really say it was a flight sim though.
  13. Be thankful there is something out there that can make people happy - its probably the only thing left over here that brings people togther on a large scale.
  14. Yeah it can be done - its the time it takes and the demand for such a thing - probably wouldn't cover the development costs I'm afraid.
  15. hahaaaa - told you Spain for the cup!
  16. MigBuster

    Hello!

Welcome Moongoose - enjoy your stay
  17. Many Congrats
  18. And that doesnt change one of the things I was getting at - that the Arabs actually had a few good pilots.
  19. **** sorry - guess I will try to make it a bit clearer next time! The combat record of all Arab militaries (is that the Army/Navy also?) was never up for discussion - you know that - In case you didnt get it I was setting you straight on your last 2 posts with a few facts (well as close as) which I can actually back up and show that what you put was mostly utter ****. The fact is they did have some good pilots despite losing the overall wars and fought and flew as well as they could.......so an F-15C merging with an Iraqi MiG-29A for a gun fight potentially provided a very dangerous and experienced MiG driver.
  20. Many Happy returns!
  21. Happy Birthday Mr Jedi
  22. happy birthday
  23. How cool is that! You would probably love the IfTach Spector book then - an easier read but describes some remarkable dogfights - particularly one where he ends up in an almost static scissors (F-4E vs MiG-21), tactics used, Osirak, USS Liberty - some priceless info!
  24. The Iranian pilots were actually trained in the US by the USAF in the 1960s and 1970s and had far superior equipment compared to Iraq - the Iraqi pilots were really up against it until the later years of the war. From the late 1960s Israeli pilots were USAF trained. The USAF were also surprised at how good some Egyptian pilots were when they started training them (when Egypt started receiving allied equipment) - because like you they assumed they must all have been useless pilots. Not claiming to have the full truth but here are some useful books on the subject that I have you may want to check out: Loud and Clear "memoirs of an Israeli fighter pilot"(Iftach Spector) Arab MiG-19 and MiG-21 units in combat (Osprey) Iranian F-4 Phantom II Units in combat (Osprey) Iranian F-14 Tomcat Units in combat (Osprey) Israeli A-4 Skyhawk Units in combat (Osprey) Israeli F-15 Eagle Units in combat (Osprey) Israeli F-4 Phantom II Aces (Osprey) Israeli Mirage and Nesher Aces (Osprey)
  25. Potentially - Iraq had some very experienced combat pilots (from the 1980-88 war ) but were no doubt overwhelmed - and the only recorded head on Merge (in combat) between an F-15C and Iraqi MiG-29A resulted in the F-15 out turning the MiG! Syria in 82 also had experienced Aces with many kills flying for them but had no counter to the advanced avionics in F-15/F-16.
