  1. Yeah the 2006 version hasnt got as many graphical features to load at run time so runs a lot faster. You would miss bug fixes, vast AI improvements, graphical improvemants/ dynamic shadows, parked aircraft to name a few things
  2. Needs a comment from someone with Falklands currently installed. Does the cockpit folder have any files in it? Is there a <helicopterName>_cockpit.ini file? DOes the <helicopter>.ini have this line in it "CockpitDataFile=<helicopter>_cockpit.ini"?
  3. Thats a fantastic system!
  4. probably this: http://www.voodoo-world.cz/falcon/glossary.html
  5. from http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-11052023 Iran has unveiled what it says is its first domestically built unmanned - or drone - bomber. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said the plane could serve as a "messenger of death", but that its key message was one of friendship. Iranian state TV later showed the "Karrar" aircraft in flight. It said it had a range of 1,000km (620 miles) and could carry two 250-pound (115kg) bombs, or a precision bomb of 500 pounds. The plane is the latest in a series of new pieces of military hardware unveiled by Iran. "This jet is a messenger of honour and human generosity and a saviour of mankind, before being a messenger of death for enemies of mankind," President Ahmadinejad said after unveiling the Karrar at a ceremony with defence officials. "The key message is friendship," he added. "We must make efforts to render all the enemy's weapons useless with our defence potential." The unveiling came amid continuing concerns over Iran's nuclear programme. Western states suspect Iran is trying to obtain a nuclear bomb, though Iran says its programme is designed to boost domestic power supplies. On Saturday, Iran began loading fuel rods at the Bushehr nuclear power station built and operated by Russia. The US said it saw no "proliferation risk" from the plant, though Israel condemned the move.
  6. go to the loadout screen in game and you can select a different skin, nation and squadron for each individual jet.
  7. 1. might be a bug - have seen it before and others have reported it - I often just cancel the barcaps and set up something useful. 2. No idea on that one Currently playing Rolling Fire (1990s) in a Block 32 myself at all out level - first time I have done Korea - and kinda shocked to get AIM-7Ms and AGM-45s in the load out
  8. Close Air Support and armed recon missions are defined under the [Attack] heading As for the fuel tank - make sure the name of the fuel tank is specified in the data ini. [CenterlineStation] SystemType=WEAPON_STATION StationID=5 StationGroupID=3 StationType=EXTERNAL AttachmentPosition=0.00,-1.61,-1.12 AttachmentAngles=0.0,-5.5,0.0 LoadLimit=1650 AllowedWeaponClass=BOMB,CGR,TER,MER,NUC,RCN,FT,GP AttachmentType=USN,NATO ModelNodeName=pylon_center PylonMass=150 PylonDragArea=0.02 FuelTankName=Tank300_A6 <--------------- anything else you will need to be more specific and provide details
  9. How about the SF2 knowledge base http://combatace.com/forum/268-thirdwire-sf2-series-knowledge-base/
  10. wrong cat file - MissionData.cat in "Flight" is probably what you need Suggest you use the catpack installer - it extracts every file in the cat to a normal folder so you can easily look through all the files. To use - Make a copy of the .cat file - then drag and drop it onto catpack.exe - the rest is automatic
  11. Thanks for the info on the mod program - might give it a look - am trying to write something for myself at the mo. I havnt installed the July 2010 patch yet - still on June 2010 - although suspect thats not the issue See PM regarding the RO Directories.
  12. hahaha - I don't particularly remember Hengist - otherwise I probably wouldnt have bothered replying. Suspect he just wants attention - note the use of "why I stopped posting here" as if anyone gives a flying fig that he doesnt post anymore.
  13. Fabulous A-10C shots
  14. Wow - nice job
  15. It only looks different because of the poor quality film - looking at the lighting effects its SF2 with a few effects (explosions) installed, stock terrain, stock F-4/pit and using easy avionics again.
  16. What a retarded POS
  17. Yep I have FE2 on Win 7 64, intel i7, Ati 5700 The Mods work as in SF2 on here - so its strange that somethings are not appearing. Did you move the mods manually in? - 1. Cut the folder called MOD out and stick it on your desktop - there is a good chance that could be causing problems - can the JSME be set to save the mods elsewhere? 2. Check they are not in subfolders - like this \Objects\Aircraft\SE5a\SE5a that wont work 3. What patch are you running? 4. Here is what I would try in case the options.ini file has been porked - cut the whole FirstEagles 2 folder C:\Users\Ralph\Saved Games\ThirdWire\FirstEagles2 and paste it onto your desktop. So you are left with no \Saved Games\ThirdWire\FirstEagles2 folder. Run the game - it will create a new FirstEagles2 folder - exit the game and move back 1 mod (ie the terrains)only from the FirstEagles folder you saved on the desktop - then test it . 5. Why do you need the JSME - what does it do exactly?
  18. What a great Vid - yes you can see the F-8s almost get it in the chin
  19. Nice comparison - So on that logic... Mirage 3 = Windows 95 Mirage 5 = Windows 98 Mirage F1 = Windows Millenium
  20. Do you mean everything has a labels on it or something? What level are you playing on in the options? - try setting the HUD to normal or something higher.
  21. Double checked on the map and Russia pretty much borders NK on the Eastern side - so if he was going to russia taking the long route over China seems a strange way to go.
  22. Pretty sure nearly all US jets to Israel have been financed that way since the mid 60s
  23. The stock Mystere IVA and F-16A have gun counters - so it probably is possible - thats probably the place to start.
  24. Point someone to the answer and they come back with that - sorry do you need some help reading number 30? or perhaps 31 - both changes brought in with later SF2 patches.
