  1. Nah, it'll stay open until the usual peanut gallery have taken turns bashing the big bad Julhelm.
  2. Because if you were clear and concise from the beginning with what the pics are supposed to show and not supposed to show then people won't have kneejerk reactions when they see the promised new sim doesn't have proper reflections or other shiny effects that are industry standard. Common business sense says you want to wow your audience with showing off the shiniest stuff you've got. But I guess it would make so much more sense business-wise for TK to "pull the plug" because his core fanbase wants bigger bones. Or something. LOL Fanboi comedy at its finest.
  3. Yeah it's easier to just leave than be upfront and communicating, like the Combat-Helo guys.
  4. Why not show off your newest product on the highest settings? Makes no sense.
  5. Canopies could use some love. Like cubemap reflections.
  6. Looking real cool. A feature I think would be neat is if we could make prefabs out of placed objects which can then be placed themselves in order to rapidly cut down on the amount of time it takes to place targets all over the map.

    Battlefield 3

You should. It really is a superlative experience when played online.
  8. Off the top of my head: Iron Eagle 3 is awesome. WW2 warbirds fight druglords and there's even the ARES in there. SAC movie is awesome. Deadly Encounter with Larry Hagman (aka JR) is awesome if you are the least interested in helicopters. Blue Thunder is also one of the best helicopter movies. Aces High was also good, as is Airforce and The Hunters.
  9. I think it's due to urbanization. I grew up in the boonies, and used to reside in a small town, and people would say hello and chitchat and offer help if someone was in need, but as soon as I moved to the big city I was just another stranger among strangers.
  10. That's a really nice detail texture you have going there.
  11. Doesn't he have over 5000 followers on Facebook? That's quite a lot more than this site I'd wager.
  12. Really nice! Does it work with desert3?
  13. That is a nasty crash. You can see he's dead already when the helmet comes off.
  14. Sorry, I've been up to my eyeballs in work lately getting BF3 ready for launch. I'll send the dude this weekend, promise.
  15. You can make them as .tga on a separate mesh and set them as reflection in the cockpit.ini.
  16. That is quite impressive. For sure better than any of my attempts. However I have to say I prefer the slightly desaturated blue of that Mig-15 cockpit.
  17. http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=89682 Check his use of textures. 1 256x512 (Diffuse & Normal) for all this:
  18. You can use mine. It has normalmaps and s**t too.
  19. It's starting to look decent but tbh I'd leave out the bevel effect on the diffuse texture and just let the normal and spec maps handle that. Also if you look at the very first photo you posted, the frames around your gauges are way too thick which makes the pit look kind of cartoony. It really helps there if you just make a quick highpoly of the frame and bake from that. It will look much better than trying to just use smoothing groups.
  20. Why are people still using XP? Must be some kind of masochist fetish.
  21. I thought it looked bad already when they released the first trailer. I also don't understand why they had to go with a boring real-world setting when the established canon is already awesome.
  22. I think the F-15E pit is a better fit TBH. I still have my old A-12 wip pit somewhere. Might tinker with that.
  23. I wouldn't mind watching Tomcats on the big screen in 3D.
