  1. That's highly true! For example the AIM-9L/M was developed conjutly by USAF and USN, but are different in the cooling liquid for the seeker, Argon for the USAF and nitrogen ( as more simple to produce on aircraft carrier) for the Navy, with subsequent logistical issue: for example when the Navy shore based a det of VF-154 F-14A for FAC duty during OIF at Al Udeid ( if remember well) this cause the necessity of send the equipment for reload the nitrogen bottles of the Winder, helped from the Aussie F-18 det sharing the air base. And about the interoperability of Aim-9B/AA-2, when the IDF/AF seized Egiptyan air bases in the Sinai after the SDW, found some Atoll left and used'em in combat on the Shahaks Beginning with the Aim-9D, all the Navy Aim-9s (D/G/H/L/M) used the nitrogen cooling bottles fitted on the missiles launcher rails,so the modification to carry one version instead of another is tied principally to the launcher rails ( I suppose at least)
  2. 1986, a busy MedCruise for the USS Coral Sea Wing : Prairie Fire 1 & 2, El Dorado Canyon. Routine ops like AEW CAPping AAR And then, remember to Libya that "line of Death" will be a two ways mean... Job done, time to return on board and finally... ...some quite
  3. Conosco bene il film, avevo il VHS ed ora l'MP4. Ben fatto per un pezzo di storia della nostra Aeronautica
  4. Mate, first the model is awesome. Second, found this thread in the modelling forum on which I post abitually and there a link with other info. The F-4J can carry Sparrow on the inner pylon, I've some book with different pics show the carriage of the missiles

  6. Love ravenclaw_007 new F-4G, I can't wait the release....
  7. Thanks for the answer mate,I love the Sader but I haven't much infos; I need to fill this gap in my knowledge, especially as a (maniacal) modeller that have some F-8s to be build...
  8. Good day mate,I solved, there're a wrong line in the ini about the LoadoutFile, instead of F-8E_66_LOADOUT.ini the lines read F-8E_66_non_vietnam_LOADOUT.ini Now look like if work fine
  9. Sorry mate, but for both the F-8E and E_66, in campaign, not A/A missiles are showed, despite I can normally add them in the loadout screen. Any idea?
  10. That's true and I'm very glad of the job you're done! I love that finally can use the F-8C with four 'Winders with the VF-24 for example ( love this squadron and made the appropriate change in the number list to have it in the 4xx range of Modex). What I mean is if you or someone else know how work the assignament of the decals to specific squadrons by the game ( I know that can be edited the appropriate lines in the decals inis). As you already knew, the squadrons rotated on the various 27C carriers during the Viet War, and this is a complication for the decals, but have the correct carrier name on the planes will be great ( for other planes also) Last stuèid thing,I'll expect that also the basic F-8C will be able to load the Y rack,is there a specific reason to ignore it? Only couriousity
  11. Mate, just a question: maybe create a single decals for the various carrier names and added separately from the NAVY's will help to have the correct markings of the various Squadrons. After said this, AWESOME job, thanks!!!!
  12. Ghostriders Baby!!!

  14. In SF2 is very simple, maybe work also in the SF1 series. open the Campaign you want to fly,open both the Campaign.ini and Campaign_Data.ini Add in the Campaign.ini the new Unit under the respective Nation ( USN,USAF,USMC) and at this point you will be able to fly the Campaign. For example the CampaignV1A In the Data.ini [AirUnit166] AircraftType=RF-101C Squadron=15TRS ForceID=1 Nation=USAF StartDate=4/1965 RetireDate=4/1967 DefaultTexture=Grey StartNumber=0 BaseArea=Udorn RTAFB BaseMoveChance=0 RandomChance=100 MaxAircraft=16 StartAircraft=16 MaxPilots=16 StartPilots=16 Experience=100 Morale=100 Supply=100 MissionChance[SWEEP]=0 MissionChance[CAP]=0 MissionChance[INTERCEPT]=0 MissionChance[ESCORT]=0 MissionChance=0 MissionChance[CAS]=0 MissionChance[SEAD]=0 MissionChance[ARMED_RECON]=0 MissionChance[ANTI_SHIP]=0 MissionChance[RECON]=100 UpgradeType=FIXED Upgrade[01].Date=1/1966 Upgrade[01].Type=RF-101C Upgrade[01].Texture=SEA The new entry in the CampaigV1A.ini [USAFUnit021] <------------------- New unit sequential number ForceID=1 UnitID=166 <---------------------------------- This number match the one in the Data.ini AircraftType=RF-101C <------------------------ Interested plane UnitName=15th TRS <------------------------- interested unit StartDate=04/02/1965 <------------------------- DescFile=wovRTStart.txt StartText=wovRTStart1.txt All the lines indicated above are to be changed accordingly to the relative ones in the Data.ini
  15. Thanks for the additional infos, think will be useful in future!
  16. New Guuruu' Midway is great, and I've finished the correct skins for the whole CVW-13 during the '86 MedCruise, with correct Bu.Nos. and markings.
  17. Ok,all worked as hoped, passed from this... ...to this.
  18. Thanks mate, will try later today
  19. So much awaited,thanks!!!!
  20. Hi gents,I searched for this question in the KB with no fortune. I noted that there are three value numbers determine the attachement position for the weapons, wich determine what? I'll like add the M35/M36 incendiary munitions in the belly of the B-57 in the specific. I've already changed the diameter and lenght lines in the plane Data.ini, but after looking the model' bomb bay open,I noted that the nose/tail separation of the bombs are pratically zero, but epecially for the forward weapons, there are some room to slightly move forward the weapons. any help will be more than appreciated, thanks!
  21. Ok guys , think I solved the isuue with the decals. First I tried to paint directely on the maps, but obtain the right degree of distortion in order to show the marking correctely in game was too much for skill,so I choose the simply way and I halved the decals height. Now show more or less as I want; an only small issue is that the two decals aren't perfectly the same and I'd varied the scale in the relative ini as 3.20 and 3.25, but don't are so notable
  22. El Dorado Canyon 1986, the VAW-127 out of USS Coral Sea contribuited to AEW for 6th Fleet, high above the Mediterranean...
  23. Hi guys, someone lsot some of his precious time for my decals problem? In the meantime I've finished a quick skin mod ( in reality decals and the unit badge painted aft the cockpit) of the VAW-127 Seabats, still for the Coral Sea' CVW-13 during the 1986 Med Cruise
  24. Thanks guys, attached the Decals.ini. Soulfreak,to answer you, paint as much markings as possible was basically my idea,I've done this on all four VFAs tail textures, service markings, ecc... even the VFA-131 squadron name on the spine, but the problem is that even so,at least the part of markings that will be on the spine of the fuselage mesh will be deformed ( and, by the way, I don't know if I will be able to determine the contact point of the two meshes...my skills are very limited) Decals.ini
